Her slightly larger than average eyes and pale skin seem to give her a somewhat alien or ghostly look though she feels like an outsider regardless of what she looks like. NPC Victoir Altier ( ♠ ) ( NPC ) - Savior turned scum A wealthy merchant from Ishgard and based in Ul'dah for a few years. Victoir found Ki when she was nothing more than an orphan living in the outskirts of Ul'dah. Taking pity on her, he brought her into his home and raised her like a daughter. After a few years, he seemed to develop more intimate feelings and took her as a young lover. What followed was a time of darkness for Ki and she still struggles to find her way out of. Victoir eventually moved back to Ishgard, leaving Ki behind as he sought to follow through with an arranged marriage. Still young, Ki struggles with her feelings towards the man, mainly experiencing hate and fear but also yearning for the Victoir who had looked after her. Taking Ki to his cabin, the two celebrated with dinner and Moonshine. A drinking contest soon took place with Ki coming out on top as the victor and self-dubbed 'Moon Queen'. Birth and early childhood Born into the Zarinh tribe as Kiht, Ki spent her very young life in the western region of the Twelveswood. She was born quite small and weak and it was almost instantly doubted on whether she could ever grow up to be a strong member of the tribe. Led by Ki’s mother, Nahja, the Zarinh were notorious for being ruthless poachers, often straying into other tribes’ territories for their own benefit. Around Ki’s sixth nameday, the Zarinh were massacred, the killers and cause unknown, though suspicions could be placed on a rival tribe. Ki was only able to survive through the quick thinking of her mother, and though Nahja managed to escape the killing, she was mortally wounded. The pair fled south to Thanalan, unable to ask anyone in the Twelveswood for help because of the Zarinh’s past actions, all the while being mercilessly tracked by those looking to finish the task, for they would not let the matriarch escape to rebuild her tribe. Nahja had done her best to hide the presence of her daughter while escaping, planning to leave Ki somewhere safe so that she may survive. Knowing that she was too wounded and weak to evade the killers for long, Nahja followed through with her plan, leading the killers away from Ki and ultimately meeting her end at their hands. Waiting several nights for her mother to return, Ki eventually wandered from her hiding place, through the sparse landscape of Thanalan to Ul’dah and began her life scavenging to survive in the city. Living alone in Ul'dah Becoming somewhat proficient at eking out a living for herself, young Ki begged and stole to get by but doing so would afford her no friends. Either bullied or pitied by others, the young tribe-born girl experienced the loneliness one feels when surrounded by thousands of strangers. Many a night was spent dreaming of growing stronger and leaving the city to live in the wilds once more, only for the dream to fade when she realized she would never see her family again and that the Twelveswood only held ghosts for her now. Growing up with Victoir WIP Alone once more With Victoir's departure to Ishgard, Ki was left behind with little more than a goodbye. Gathering herself up, she resumed a life of living on the streets, though with the further disadvantage of people knowing of her past with Victoir, some believing she had hidden wealth or wished to exploit her in other ways. Quickly learning to avoid everyone unless required for taking up oddjobs to make a meagre living, she found herself shutting off the world and lacking the will to even leave Ul'dah as ghosts and memories of the past seemed to cling to her and force her to remain in a state of half living.
