In days of old, the Greatmother went by another name. Màthair. Each of the five witches she had taken under her wing came from various backgrounds except one...Xyla. She is the decendant of the Greatmother and despite the young Elezen saying she always wanted to be free and do what she wanted, The Greatmother continued to hammer in the point that once she is of age that Xyla will take the mantle of leader. When the Greatmother realized Xyla will not budge she devised a plan for both power and to prove the world is not kind. Entered Varthamith. She used the necromancer by promising power if he managed to kill fifty thousand people for her scheme. From there everything went according to plan-

1. Have the five witches create the Witch Hearts 2. Let Xyla slowly realize her place in the world. 3. Eventually kill Varthamith by her daughter's hands

yet when word got out that Varthamith and Xyla were starting a relationship it complicated matters. It wasn't until Xyla used the Witch Heart for her selfish needs that a reason to exile her arose. Thus she banished Xyla. Sadly she never regained that fifth heart.

Since then she had been biding her time. Waiting for the day she can obtain the stones after the others 'lost' them due to time and the Great Flood.
