Saraalain Irmegiin
- I don't expect everyone to read this all, but please look at the OOC Notes!
- Next to notes there are also links to learn more about this custom tribe!
General Information
A stoic woman, Saraalain really doesn't say much, least of all about herself. She isn't known for often showing her feels at all, either. Only those closest to her know what she's truly like. To strangers, she can often times be a little cold, and certainly blunt. She prefers to get to the point regardless of who she's speaking to.
Appearance
Saraalain has deep red skin, and dusky rose-colored hair. Her eyes are a steely gray, often added to her cold demeanor. Like all Irmegiin, there are beads that decorate her horns. On her left horn hangs a black, grey, and orange bead. While on her left hangs her undyed, and a red bead. Also like most Irmegiin, at least nowadays, her body has a fair amount of scars. There are none in particular that stand out, nor does there seem to be any kind of pattern to them. About halfway through her tail, it looks misshapen, as though it was cut off and grew back again. The scales on her face seemed to have faded to a brown color in the middle of them... but even if you ask her why that is she'd just shrug her shoulders. Saraalain is currently pregnant, and showing a tiny baby bump! It's starting to be noticed by others, despite being only a couple moons in...

Mannerisms
When she idles, she stands surprisingly still.. almost guard-like. Though often times that really isn't her purpose. Her always-neutral face and monotone voice make it impossible to read what she's feeling sometimes. Some may wonder if she even has emotions. But it can be assured that she does, just simply chooses not to reveal them. Almost ever.
Philosophy & Ideals
She lives by the wild laws of the Steppe most of the time. Kill or be killed. Be strong, survive, or die. Basic things like that.
Quirks
- Snorts when she laughs, which of course is never.
- Prone to jealousy, despite never showing it.
- Falls asleep surprisingly easy, but is a light sleeper.
- Smokes when she feels she needs to calm herself.
- Can't let her food touch if it's on a plate.
- Highly superstitious, following Irmegiin belief.

Early Life
Childhood
Saraalain's childhood is a little fuzzy to her. Often times she can only remember bits and pieces. Save for one incident that she can't remember at all. She remembers of course that she had a twin sister, Rueiis. And she knows that she was always jovial and smiling. And she knows that she died. But memories of her stop there. She has no idea how her sister died. Only that she was the one who did it. Most Irmegiin children don't get a bead until the come of age, which is about fifteen years old. Saraalain, however, carved her first bead at eight. One of the few exceptions to getting your first bead, Saraalain had a red bead painted.. for murdering her sister. She really can't remember how it happened, but a friend of theirs, Sarduu, was with them when the incident occurred. According to her, Saraalain killed her sister by complete accident. It was because of this that Saraalain was not banished outright, even as a child. Instead she was to carve herself a bead that would later be dyed red, to show what she had done. Besides this one event, Saraalain's childhood really had nothing else of major note. She was born during the cold seasons, when the Irmegiin iloh was in the desert area of the Steppe. She was one of the few twins ever born in the tribe, so of course she remembers her sister's death being quite the loss in others' eyes. She grew up learning basic stitching, hunting, and gathering skills, but showed early on to be rather adept at hunting and working with leather.
Adolescence
Her sister's death didn't really affect her adolescence, but some claim that after the event was when she became so stoic. Saraalain swears she has just always been that way. Regardless, it was in her teen years that she grew highly proficient with her spear, and honed her skills with shooting down game with her bow. Though she of course didn't show it, a lot of her adolescent years were also spent brooding, where she retreated to cave to be alone, but also still pulled her weight, so to speak, by learning to unearth precious gems and minerals. She remembers her celebration for coming of age to be a bit odd. As her parents and some of the tribe used it as another period of time to mourn Rueiis, seeing as how she wasn't beside her sister that day to receive her undyed bead.
Adulthood
It was earlier into her adulthood that her childhood friend, Sarduu, decided to leave the Steppe. Not permanently of course, since she was to be the next Khatun, but it was taken to note because she was the first ever Irmegiin to ever do so. It was moons after that the Irmegiin were attacked, and for the second time in their history almost wiped to extinction. Saraalain... prefers not to think too much of that day. Though she still has shown no emotion over it, it was a sorrowful day for all. There was only a handful of Irmegiin to escape with their lives that day, but by this time the whereabouts of Sarduu became unkown. As time passed Saraalain had decided that she wouldn't see her friend every again either, and left it at that. Skip forward a couple years, and Saraalain would become the second ever Irmegiin to leave the Steppe. It wasn't for any noble reason like Sarduu's, where she left to gain knowledge of the newly opened world, but for a more personal, and daresay selfish reason. She wouldn't reveal the details to anyone on why, but it was after a particular argument with an Ura man who joined the folds of the Irmegiin tribe. She left in the night, leaving word with only the Khatun, and wanting to get away for some time. She still plans to return to the Steppe one day, she just isn't sure when.
Recent Times
Stepping off the boat and into Limsa proved to be a bit tedious for her. With all the bridges in that city, her arm grew tired quickly from having to keep her palm to the top of her head. After being there for less than a day, she decided she wanted to be elsewhere. Her travels led her to Ul'dah, where she is most often seen today. In fact, it was there she met a Torgud man who wanted to aid in the Irmegiin's plight after discovering it. After a lengthy conversation, and word being sent to her Khatun, he became a breeding partner so that Saraalain could bear young for the tribe. However, pregnancy hasn't been too kind to the stoic woman's emotions...

RP Hooks
-
Stoic Stare
This character often has a very blank, very dull expression on her face. It more often deters people, but hey. Some might want to know why.
-
Rare Tribe
This character is from a rather small, rather rare tribe, often not even having been heard of. If you character has heard of this tribe, it could be very fascinating to speak with one from it.
-
Pregnant
It's showing as a small baby bump, just noticeable! Those who can identify such even at an earlier stage could certainly sense it, too.

Policy
I don't know so much about policies, per say, but I personally believe that OOC communication is very important with RP. If there is something in the RP that you don't like, talk to the other person about it. Rather than bicker about it like children, sort it out like adults.
- Another thing I will say is that IC does NOT equal OOC! My characters are very different from me, and will not make the same decisions, actions, or say the same things that I would! I RP them to be their own people, not myself!
