History

At an age preceding his memories, Ainle was adopted and raised by an Elezen woman. She belonged to a group of privateers, and they were the family Ainle grew to know as his. His younger years were spent on ships and in port towns, his feet not firmly planting on the ground for more than a decade after his adoption. He began a life of his own by the approximate age of fifteen by leaving the seafaring life and setting a course for Ul'dah. There, he trained to fight in the gladiatorial arenas while the legendary paladins of the Sultansworn quickly became his role models. When he wasn't grasping a sword, he swung a pick, and a membership with the Miner's Guild more than paid his way.

Personality

Ainle's upbringing sets him apart from tribal Seekers. Adoptive name aside, he was both culturally disconnected and conversationally timid around all Miqo'te, and, to a lesser extent, most other races. Ainle often falls victim to social anxieties, but many others have found him to be a likable youngster. Friendliness runs deep in his character and tends to drive his interactions and relationships with fellow Eorzeans. Those few who come to share a close friendship with Ainle enjoy an unmatched measure of loyalty from him. He exhibits strong instincts and has proven unshakably protective of those he cares for. Trusted companions have been scarce throughout his life, and Ainle is not one to squander them.

Combat

Here, Ainle is highly focused, given what others have seen thus far. Rather than it being a matter of favoring combat, he seems more duty-bound to protect his friends and allies. The results are a more decisive and much less nervous Ainle.

He is skilled in swordplay, and a trained eye could possibly discern that the boy prefers curved blades. He favors smaller shields, more readily relying on elusive movements and deflections than mere blocking. He practices with other bladed weapons such as claws and daggers, and he has some training in hand-to-hand combat. He may have been noted practicing in the yard of the company's estate when few were around.

Notable Relationships

Romantic Interest Sexual Desire Platonic Love Good Standing Neutral Standing Poor Standing

E'liah Tia

E'liah makes Ainle's heart race. This Seeker's nurturing disposition and stunning looks resulted in a quick crush for Ainle when they first met, and his nerves got the better of him for many of their early meetings. After spending a good amount of time bonding with one another in situations more favorable to Ainle's focus, their relationship strengthened and Ainle found the courage to tell the bard just how he felt. Now, they are loving mates, and Ainle's heart still swells when he is around E'liah, perhaps more than it ever had before.

Tahla'li Tayuun

Tahla'li makes Ainle's blood burn. Intriguing; his guarded demeanor did not deflect Ainle's attempts at knowing him early out- it only provided an enigma that drove the Seeker forth. As mysterious as Ainle finds him, the things that Tahla'li could not hide attracted the paladin even more. While his laugh is something Ainle treasures, his heated temperament lured Ainle further out of his shell than anyone might have expected. He's claimed the fiery Tayuun as his mate, stoked his passions, and has no intention of letting it burn out.

Seda'li Tayuun

Initially striking Ainle as a professional arse-hat, Seda'li has turned his image around with him considerably. This Keeper of the Moon pressed forward when Ainle's apprehension might have otherwise kept them distant, and they bonded when Seda'li proved himself to be rather caring. Seda'li also helped to improve Ainle's social confidence as well as find his place within their company. Now, Ainle cares greatly for Seda'li, and is strongly driven to see to his close friend succeeding in whatever makes him happiest.

Onuma Ahntifi

The first member of the 81st that Ainle encountered, alongside Seda'li, and one that he has quickly grown fond of. Her kind nature broke through Ainle's anxieties early, and he, like many others, has come to look up to her. For brief moments in Ainle's mind, she seems to fill the station of big-sister for him, a spot that otherwise holds a profound emptiness for reasons he cannot yet gather.

Rah'na Lihzeh

Ainle doesn't feel he knows Rahn'a nearly as much as he would like, but this seemingly shaky Keeper's lack of courage for combat and craft has Ainle feeling the urge to step up and help him. Ainle was introduced to Rahn'a through Seda'li in another sensitive situation, and a good standing was established early. Most notably, Ainle deeply covets the idea of Rahn'a and Seda'li as a couple, and perhaps finds himself the greatest supporter of the pairing.
