She wears a pair of glasses to correct her vision, as seeing things at a distance is rather difficult for her. Beyond this, she wears little in the ways of jewelry. She has two rings she wears, one on each hand, that supposedly have soil from the Shroud housed beneath the crystals set into their rose-gold bands. She also has a small collection of earrings she's acquired, and switches them out now and again.
Her clothes reflect her love of the Shroud, in that most of her wardrobe is some shade of green. When out on contracts she'll usually slip into a pair of tights and a sturdy pair of shoes, but even then she does not forgo the gowns she's so fond of. Since arriving in Thanalan she has forgone the heavy robes she wore while with the Conjury guild, and instead shows a little more skin - namely her arms. Her earliest moon was a mad scramble for anything that didn't keep her warmer than the Sagolii at midday, and she has an embarrassingly thin gown tucked in the back of her wardrobe.
Born with five older brothers and a passionate need to prove she was as strong and fast as they, she made it her daily mission to pace them, if not out perform them. As a child it was a thing of delighted stories and jest, although when it continued into her teenage years it lost its appeal. Her family worked hard (if not entirely within legal means) to put food on the table, and there were many instances where the antics of their children left their parents with little more than a few fish, as they'd spent the rest of their gil repaying damages. Ever more increased by the burden of their sons and daughter, they paid handsomely for their two eldest to seek their way in Eorzea.
One of her elder brothers, Adrieneux, returned after several cycles abroad with enough gil to keep them content. Her eldest found a wife, and settled down away from his family.
Their remaining sons seemed keen on leaving their young sister out of their games. Finally, one rainy morning, it proved to be a nearly fatal mistake.
While playing in the Eastern Shroud, her brothers came upon an immense tree and scrambled easily into the topmost branches. They called taunts to her as she fought for purchase on the slick surface, and even suggested which handholds to reach for. They incorrectly assumed she would give up and leave them to their games and hunts, and were horrified to look back and see her nearly halfway to them. Just as they opened their mouths to order her back down, her hand found the back of a tree slug rather than a notch in the wood, and she fell with a rather unsettling thud.
Her brothers sent for a healer, who was thankfully able to repair her broken arm and fractured ankle with little trouble, but she fell into a deep sleep for a little longer than a Sun before she woke. From that moment on, she was not the same.
For the first six months, she found it impossible to not only form new memories, but also to recall much of her life before the incident. After that she was able to retain things from lessons, but for nearly a full cycle she suffered in a fog of uncertainty. Angry, frustrated and causing no end of added difficulty to her parents, she found herself brought to the Conjurers Guild in the hopes of finding help for her 'condition'. Under the constant care of the healers she began to display improvement, even remembering names or faces. Stress seemed to set her back, as well as learning too much too quickly, and progress was slow. It took a great deal of time for them to trust her with leaving the safety of the guild, and her movements were restricted to Gridania. The Wood Wailers knew her face, and would keep her quietly inside.
Her family visited regularly in the beginning, but when it was realized that she did not remember their visits...they came to an end. It was her mother who encouraged her to start a journal, in the hopes that some familial relations could be salvaged. It did not help. When days would sour or arguments would occur, she would promptly tear the notes from their bindings. The only family that persisted in his visits was Adrieneux, who made certain to come at least for Moonfire. He would inevitably steal her away for suns at a time, leading the Conjury guild to hunt them out and bring her back. It was the Padjal who decreed these 'excursions' should not be mentioned, as losing an entire person was not something they wanted record of, and he would keep Adellenne distracted just long enough for her to forget to write them down.
When she was close to her thirties she showed enough success with her mental exercises that she was then instructed in the ways of the Conjurers, in the hopes that the use of Aether would continue to heal her mind and body. It served to give her confidence, but was largely fruitless. Eventually the Conjurers decided that they were not keen on having a permanent resident who was, over all, in perfect health and called for outside aid and a new home for her. A Hearer by the name of Cicero Fortescue was the one to come retrieve her, and he took her to the unknown country of Thanalan. Under a roof with so many different personalities she thrived, and in fact stepped farther out of her shell than she had in cycles.

Recently Adellenne was subjected to an incredibly dangerous procedure. While it almost left her brain-dead and nearly claimed the hand of the healer performing it, she is now able to keep memories of the past twenty-four bells. Both a blessing and a curse, Adelle is more acutely aware of just how much she forgets. This has led to growing frustration and the development of a stronger personality.
