This character article or section of a character article is a stub -- a small, but growing, work in progress. If you're the creator of this character, why not consider expanding it?

History

At an age preceding his memories, Ainle was adopted and raised by an Elezen woman named Senelle Silverlight. Senelle was among the crew of the Grymgohta, the crew that Ainle grew to know as his family. His younger years were spent on ships and in port towns, his feet not firmly planting on the ground for more than a decade after his adoption. He began a life of his own by the approximate age of fifteen by leaving the seafaring life and setting a course for Ul'dah. There, he trained to fight in the bloodsands while the legendary paladins of the Sultansworn quickly became his role models. When he wasn't grasping a sword, he swung a pick, and a membership with the Miner's Guild more than paid his way.

Recently, Ainle has learned of his past before his adoption. He was born to parents, both now deceased, who each renounced their separate tribes to live as nomads. They named him 'Xihra', appropriately without a tribal prefix. He had a twin sister, Lihrit, who passed away some time before Ainle was reunited with his only living member of immediate relation, and half-sister, Z'koa Rhiki. Now, all facts of his age and bloodline have been confirmed.

Personality

Ainle's upbringing sets him apart from tribal Seekers. Adoptive name aside, he was both culturally disconnected and conversationally timid around all Miqo'te, and, to a lesser extent, most other races. Ainle often falls victim to social anxieties, but many others have found him to be a likable youngster. Friendliness runs deep in his character and tends to drive his interactions and relationships with fellow Eorzeans. Those few who come to share a close friendship with Ainle enjoy an unmatched measure of loyalty from him. He exhibits strong instincts and has proven unshakably protective of those he cares for. Trusted companions have been scarce throughout his life, and Ainle is not one to squander them.

Combat

Here, Ainle is highly focused, given what others have seen thus far. Rather than it being a matter of favoring combat, he seems more duty-bound to protect his friends and allies. The results are a more decisive and much less nervous Ainle.

He is skilled in swordplay, and a trained eye could possibly discern that the boy prefers curved blades. He favors smaller shields, more readily relying on elusive movements and deflections than mere blocking. He practices with other bladed weapons such as claws and daggers. He may have been noted practicing in the yard of the company's estate when few were around.

His power in hand-to-hand combat is also notable. Though the young man is small in frame, he commands potent aetheric power when he focuses the energies at his hands and feet. Through his training, Ainle has opened two of his seven chakras.

Ainle exudes a gentle aura of warmth around his being when his Aether is excited. The heat that radiates from his body feels much like comforting rays of sunlight when upon another's skin, should they come close enough to him. His recent meditations and efforts to harness his energies have found a milestone in his progress. Whenever Ainle manipulates Aether, be it the light from his Paladin techniques, novice conjuring, or empowering his body in hand-to-hand combat, the energy released takes on the characteristic of a golden glow.

Notable Relationships

Romantic Interest Sexual Desire Platonic Love Good Standing Neutral Standing Poor Standing

E'liah Tia

E'liah makes Ainle's heart race. This Seeker's nurturing disposition and stunning looks resulted in a quick crush for Ainle when they first met, and his nerves got the better of him for many of their early meetings. After spending a good amount of time bonding with one another in situations more favorable to Ainle's focus, their relationship strengthened and Ainle found the courage to tell the bard just how he felt. Now, they are loving mates, and Ainle's heart still swells when he is around E'liah, perhaps more than it ever had before.

Tahla'li Tayuun

Tahla'li makes Ainle's blood burn. Intriguing; his guarded demeanor did not deflect Ainle's attempts at knowing him early out- it only provided an enigma that drove the Seeker forth. As mysterious as Ainle finds him, the things that Tahla'li could not hide attracted the paladin even more. While his laugh is something Ainle treasures, his heated temperament lured Ainle further out of his shell than anyone might have expected. He's claimed the fiery Tayuun as his mate, stoked his passions, and has no intention of letting them flicker out.

Senelle Silverlight

Ainle's adoptive mother. This woman's kindness and caring are seemingly immeasurable, and Ainle loves her dearly. From ages three to fifteen, Ainle was inseparable from her- and many of her ideas, preferences, and mannerisms have rubbed off on the boy. Though Ainle has lived on his own for over three cycles now, these two are still incredibly close, and Ainle writes her letters often.

Leo Arkwright

Since his first days at the company, Ainle has been fond of Leo. Even now that they are peers in the same squad, Ainle looks up to this man. Everything from Leo's skill to his courage and optimism in combat, Ainle feels he aspires to. Recently, they have proven to work well with each other in the field, and Ainle tends to stay by Leo's side if he can.

Eyristyrn Elileynwyn

The captain of the Grymgohta, the ship Ainle grew up on. Eyristyrn took on the role of another mother for Ainle as well. While she was usually more occupied with her duties as a leader of the crew, she was there for him when he needed her. More recently she has come closer to him, helping him to meditate and better access his aether.

Seda'li Tayuun

Initially striking Ainle as a professional arse-hat, Seda'li has turned his image around with him considerably. This Keeper of the Moon pressed forward when Ainle's apprehension might have otherwise kept them distant, and they bonded when Seda'li proved himself to be rather caring. Seda'li also helped to improve Ainle's social confidence as well as find his place within their company. Now, Ainle cares greatly for Seda'li, and is strongly driven to see to his close friend succeeding in whatever makes him happiest.

Z'koa Rhiki

Ainle met this Seeker on the streets of Ul'dah weeks before learning that she was his elder half-sister by blood. Since then, Ainle has begun to learn about his birth family and the first few cycles of his life. While Ainle himself holds no memories of their interactions prior to their separation over fifteen cycles ago, they've quickly grown close once again.

Olivienne Asturmaux

Among Ainle's weaknesses are Elezen girls, sweet personalities, and pigtails. Thus, Olivienne is a tri-disaster. Ainle finds himself speechless around this gorgeous girl, so it's back to the drawing board when it comes to his social interactions with her.

Ghenta Hellbrand

This brazen and pushy woman joined the crew of the Grymgohta at an early age and spent several cycles around Ainle. He never will get used to her potent attitude, and he is unsure of how she thinks of him now. A short fling between them, occuring during Ainle's time living in Ul'dah, has only confused the situation, but Ainle feels they are on good terms.

Onuma Ahntifi

The first member of the 81st that Ainle encountered, alongside Seda'li, and one that he has quickly grown fond of. Her kind nature broke through Ainle's anxieties early, and he, like many others, has come to look up to her. For brief moments in Ainle's mind, she seemed to fill the station of a big-sister for him, a spot that, until meeting Z'koa, held a profound emptiness for him.

Rah'na Lihzeh

Ainle doesn't feel he knows Rahn'a nearly as much as he would like, but this seemingly shaky Keeper's lack of courage for combat and craft has Ainle feeling the urge to step up and help him. Ainle was introduced to Rahn'a through Seda'li in another sensitive situation, and a good standing was established early. Most notably, Ainle deeply covets the idea of Rahn'a and Seda'li as a couple, and perhaps finds himself the greatest supporter of the pairing.

Kodaro Ba'rococo

Ainle has had unfailing respect for Kodaro since the day they met. Knowing him first as another Miqo'te raised far from a tribal setting, he felt Kodaro was someone he could relate to. Unfortunately and unintentionally, romantic happenings put Ainle in a very difficult position with Kodaro. Perhaps with a little help from their battle with Leviathan, however, the two have been able to meet for talks of friendships and fighting, and they have both happily agreed to train with one another. For this, Ainle is incredibly grateful.

Emilienoix Bellegarde

Ainle knows little of this individual outside of how he conducts himself around other members of their company. Ainle's first impression of the man came from an outburst of Kodaro's- that Emilienoix was a thief; one who made an attempt at the 81st's property. To make matters worse, the Elezen seemed quite proud of the title given to him, and that set him on a course for a bad start with Ainle. The Seeker does not trust Emilienoix with matters of money, personal belongings, or tales of any sort. However, Ainle is aware that the Elezen has, since joining the company, been a good companion through his actions. Knowing this, Ainle will say that he is willing to start giving Emilienoix a chance as a teammate... but never a chance at his gil.

Zarek Earthshaker

The man who taught Ainle how to fight as well as meditate. Though the lessons of the latter did not begin to show benefits until after they parted ways, Ainle still considers Zarek a remarkable instructor. Ainle knows nothing of the man's past, but considers him trustworthy.
