Character

General

Burning Passion (or "Red", as some have taken to call him) is an adventurer and Second Lieutenant in the Immortal Flames. Devoted to order and justice, he fights for both in hopes of bringing peace to Eorzea. While he does try to make friends, he's not a fan of crowds of people due to his silent nature. He is devoted, body and soul, to his interpretation of justice.

Appearance

Burning is a Roegadyn and, as such is a very large, very stocky individual. He has darkly tanned skin and vibrant red hair with golden highlights, looking as if to resemble fire itself. He has four parallel scars over his left eye and nose, shaped like they came from a set of claws. He is shorter than most Roegadyn, but also lighter on his feet. He wears armor traditional of combatants in a Coliseum, which grant equal parts protection and freedom of movement while still wearing metal plate. He has many weapons at his disposal, but his weapon of choice is the Dual Haken. Other weapons include the Eisentaenser, the Flame Lieutenant's Axe, and the legendary Bravura.

Behavior

Burning is a very friendly, yet ironically quiet individual, given his name. He has a great respect for those who can control their emotions and act with wisdom. He condones senseless murder when there are alternate avenues that could be pursued. He is very uncomfortable around crowds of more than a couple of people in a social setting due to a lack of things to say and a sense of feeling left out, causing him to attempt to find quieter areas when needed. There are many times when he will repress his emotions so as to not cause concern for others, feeling that expression of certain kinds of emotions can cause imposition on others, which is an unnecessary burden for others to bear. He can be quite critical of his own actions and is quite the perfectionist in all things, which while it tears him up inside, also ensures that he makes as few mistakes as possible and causes him to be almost unnaturally observant of his surroundings.

Burning certainly has wisdom far, far beyond his years and is always willing to lend his advice to those that would seek it.

Combat

General

Burning is skilled in the use of a variety of different weapons, but specializes in the use of heavy armor and axe combat, protecting his allies from harm while also dealing as much damage as possible to his enemies. His inner flame can ignite during battle, pushing his physical capabilities well beyond their own limits and striking fear in the hearts of all who would oppose him. His wisdom, however, allows him to control this flame with far greater mastery than even the ancient Warriors once did, being in full control of his actions, even in the throes of rage.

Tendencies

Likes

  • Bombs. A truly noble creature, in his eyes.
  • Justice. Everyone should get what they deserve, good or bad.
  • Order. Burning's ideology is that proper planning and organization is far superior to disarray.

Dislikes

  • Chaos. Chaos is the antithesis of order and allows for the unplanned and unpredictable. Burning does not like the unpredictable.
  • Supremacy. Anyone that views themselves as being superior enough to anyone else that it justifies punishing those they view as being inferior. That, to Burning, is the antithesis of Justice.
  • Crowds. They are often loud and chaotic, in his mind, and he attempts to avoid them whenever possible.

Talents

  • Great wisdom and tact.
  • Able to adapt to new environments and situations.
  • Incredible empathy and comprehension of that which he does not initially understand.

Other

  • Absent-minded. He will sometimes forget people he has met, which he never intends.
  • Wears a Bomb Earring which is, in fact, a dormant Bomb which Burning has affectionately named Boomer. Boomer can be summoned from this earring, but is not often summoned due to it being prone to self-destructing at inconvenient times during combat.
  • Burning's dream is to explore and indulge in everything the entire world has to offer while also being true to his morality and honor.

Relationships

Family

Burning's parents work at the Ceruleum Processing Plant north of Camp Bluefog. Burning has no siblings.

Friends

Burning makes and loses friends on a regular basis, largely due to both his eagerness to make new friends very quickly, and his forgetfulness of the friends he has already made. This makes any kind of relationship with Burning exceptionally difficult. But once he can truly remember who you are, you know you've carved a place for yourself in his heart.

Enemies

Burning's enemies are those who mistreat others or who create disorder where there is order.

History/Timeline

Burning was born in Ul'dah on Hydaelyn, but not the same Hydaelyn as the one he currently resides on now. In his Hydaelyn, he trained at the Pugilists Guild. A gifted fighter, he earned many accolades and even joined the Immortal Flames of his own world. Along with others, he even held back the Garlean invasion force. However, Ultima Weapon showed up. When it used "Ultima", it tore a tiny hole in the Interdimensional Rift. This hole opened only briefly, but it was enough to suck Burning through it and into this dark dimension.

This new place was cold and dark. He navigated it for months. Fighting fiercely powerful monsters for what felt like years. He fought many and fled from many more that were far too powerful for him to take on alone. Soon, he found a portal and entered through it. It looked like Eorzea, but there were differences. In this new Eorzea, he didn't exist and neither did many of his former comrades. It was a completely different world, yet still undeniably familiar.

With no way to return home, Burning decided to start a new life here, preparing for the day when some of the monsters he encountered in The Rift would show themselves here. The red-clad samurai, Gilgamesh, has already arrived, which has put Burning on high alert. Who else would escape The Rift into this world? Time will tell.
