Corelyn is intent on spending every moment possible on improving herself and her knowledge. This goes hand in hand with her combat style - a second wasted can be a second too late to finish invoking a pattern or incantation.

Appearance

Corelyn is a short, slight girl in her mid-twenties. She's not one to stand out very quickly in a crowd, keeping a somewhat plain appearance at a glance. She wears black eyeliner and lipstick, and her tightly-kept blonde hair is tipped in black, the rest bearing similar dark highlights, bangs kept to completely obscure her forehead. She has very faint markings beside each eye, though it is difficult to tell what they are from a distance, if one could notice them at all. At a closer glance, they would appear to cover some sort of scars. It is unclear if she does or does not have any further tattoos or markings. She has various piercings up and along her ears. A pair of dark-rimmed glasses always perches atop her nose, her teal eyes gazing studiously forth from behind them, perpetually analysing her surroundings, as if deconstructing everything around her down to numbers and figures.

She keeps to modest clothing to avoid unwanted attention, hiding a more protective layer of light armour beneath to protect her in her travels. She is never seen without a tome, grimoire, or other such book, as well as multiple writing implements kept safe in a satchel at her waist.

Behaviour

Corelyn tends to be fairly awkward in social situations, and therefore avoids them more often than not though there are some few occasions where she may be baited into conversation. She is highly analytical and incredibly blunt, often seeming to be picking people apart in her head. Despite this, she frequently overlooks or outright ignores social cues and mannerisms. Generally well-meaning and well-mannered besides, she is typically rather pleasant company, provided she is not busy with some book or contraption. She is fascinated by technology - Allagan or Garlean - and has a tendency to get quite excitable when talking about it.

Combat

Corelyn displays next to no actual skill in combat, though few have ever even seen her in situations where she must defend herself. Having little natural skill with aether-manipulation of any sort, it is incredibly difficult for her to manifest magical means of self-defense. She tends to hire help in that area, but often can outsmart potential opponents before risking any sort of dangerous confrontation. Though, it has been said that on occasion, she's managed to manifest a spell or two. This may or may not, however, be true.

History/Timeline

Corelyn hardly ever speaks of her life before the Calamity. All that's really known is that not long following it, she arrived in Limsa Lominsa with a hefty sum of money on her, using it to hide out in an inn room in the Drowned Wench most of the time. After some time, she began hiring mercenaries for expeditions into Allagan ruins around Eorzea and stockpiling or selling artefacts and knowledge gained from her exploits. In the past several years, she's managed to eke out a good living from this activity. She spends much of her time with her work, and travels rather frequently. Not much else is known publicly of the evasive and introverted scholar/researcher, but every now and again, she makes some unprecedented discovery that gains her a bit of attention in the appropriate fields.
