Due to Gerik's odd upbringing, he still remains a child at heart. More than anything he wants to be liked and to have people he can trust and rely on. He's very social and trusts people very easily due to this, however at the same time he's also afraid to let people get too close for the fear of others hurting him. Others might perceive him as being gullible and a bit slow and they'd probably be right. He never had a 'good' education, so in that regard he's not quite so bright.  During his time spent at Gridania he's learned a little about how to cultivate plants, which plants have medicinal properties to them, and which plants are safe to eat, in addition to a bunch of other assorted knowledge about plants and creatures within the forest.  Many would describe Gerik as 'lucky', sometimes things happen to him with little to no effort on his part, or he gets something accomplished in a very unorthodox manner.

Despite him not being a 'Forestborn,' he thinks he's earned the trust of the local Gridanians enough for them to treat him as one.  He's spent a lot of his time in the Twelveswood, even going as far as to camp in the canopies of the trees at night.  When on these extended camping trips he usually spends most of his time napping, or observing the happenings within the forest, his employers are generally not pleased as he may not come in to work for a few days or more.  His favorite haunt is the White Willow near Camp Emerald Moss.
