Character
General
Emmette Stringers is the daughter of a wealthy merchant family in the City-State, Ul'dah. Though she is native to the Thanalan Region, her skin is a fawn tone, like the white sands of a beach or desert. Emmette's family has some ties to the Ishgardian families of noble barings, their wealth is an extraordinary thing to be solely built from the over saturated textile markets of their beloved desert city. What the young woman of only twenty-five cycles will tell you, is that she is currently a scholar of sorts and aspiring to be more. She often mentions that her work is in research, but never really going into much detail. Most will note that Emmette is never truly alone, no matter where she goes. By putting her share of her families fortune to good use, the Hyur is protected by a lone guard most often and should they not be present it well to assume they are nearby.
Emmette ventures in Ul'dah have been short ones since her return. It is said that she left not moons before the Calamity to be a Mender, traveling with a mentor to help those who needed it most. Though if Emmette is asked, she shares very little on this herself.
Her goals in life -seem- to be simple ones, despite her background. She speaks little of her family, though she has never found herself wanting of anything.
Appearance
Be it sitting down or standing off to the side, this fiery haired Midlander usually dresses to impress, though she will choose to ignore those around her, unless you have a quality she sees as intriguing. Emmette has set of sharp, almost hawkish features, with clover green eyes that lack any specific shape to them, as far as one could tell. Perhaps if she did not narrow them so much or if she didn't need the aid of black framed spectacles, things would be different? Her brows are always neatly shaped and her lips a soft shade of red or pink, another telling sign that she aims to impress upon those that she is of a higher, more sophisticated upbringing. She has a dusting of freckles over her pale cheeks and nose, another trait that does not fit with her Ul'dahn heritage, but Emmette will say that she was kept inside their families apartments, the sun never was given the chance to burn her fair skin.
Most notable features: Emmette bares the mark of a tattoo along the side of her face, something dark with sharp edges. Though it could quite possibly be an homage to her Hyur heritage, she does not speak of this, leaving the impression it is far worse. She will always wear wraps around her fingers, it is certainly noticeable as she has different colors of leather and designs for these things. She will always wear her hair up when it gets too long or she will cut it off entirely, styling it as a typical sign of her boredom, but her natural hair will always remain that fiery red and orange. Aside from her paler features for that of an Ul'dahn, Emmette is average looking. Through all the make-up and the fine clothes, the tattoo and her fair hair, she strives to changes this; but, when that is gone, Miss Stringers is only another face in a densely populated city-state.
Personality
On the surface, Emmette's Peronality is often hard to narrow down, as she will change it to fit her needs. If she believes that what you have will assist her, it would be better just to hold up a mirror to yourself and speak with it, rather than trying to get anything genuine out of this woman. Below this, there is an onion. Emmette is like a posh onion.
However, when she isn't looking for something, the often curly haired Hyur has a dry humor and serious disposition. Her tone is haughty. Her brows are often furrowed in a soft scowl. Her lips thinned, flashing brief smiles to those that speak or act with kindness, because she can still admire that they are so sure in their selves that acting kind, does not make them feel weak or anxious. She will play a hostess to you in her company, should you work for her, but to say Emmette cares for one's well being, is to truly not know Emmette. To her, everyone is an investment. Like most people, when she feels comfortable with you, though that is rare in this woman's case, she will relax and can sometimes be a genuinely charming person. Needless to say, that charm can and will dry up should you begin asking questions, as she is still a guarded person. Her kindness shrivels up or twists darkly, when faced with emotional intimacy. Almost always, the Hyur treads a fine line. To that note, she doesn't like to be touched, she often flinches unless she knows you well enough to know your intent. It is easier to let her be the first to make any sort of move to be close with you, verbally or otherwise. Emmette is typically a generous employer and hostess, she believes that she is the best thing that can happen to anyone looking for work, whether she actually is or not. She doesn't speak of her wealth, which many might find odd. To those that assume the worst, she does not disappoint them, all one needs to do is be entirely blunt with their intentions and interests. It is likely that she will share something about herself, before removing said audacious individual from her presence, or in rare moments offering them work. When drinking, Emmette retains that dry humor, but she smiles more genuinely and laughs freely, as long as her drink is nearby. She can have a temper, she does seek advice from menders on dealing with such, as through introspection, as her craft demands, she does know that her temper can have disastrous effects. If she is seen counting, she may have already thrown something, be it spell or a nearby object.
Combat
In combat, Emmette will often use many different pieces of foci, including the bands around her wrists, a few different beaded chains around her hip, necklaces, rings, brands she can hook to her belt. She calls upon elements of fire, ice, and -sometimes- physical powers, though she will admit she isn't as strong with them. What Emmette is very capable with however is the power of foresight. She often prepares for most situations and don't be surprised if she has a bottle of something to drop on the ground at your feet that will blow up, emit some sort of odd smelling gas, power, and the like. This woman is not the type you should cross. Given her small stature, usually she isn't up for a physical fight and with her attitude she isn't quick to anger, so riling her up is a trying task anyways.

An ask or /tell basis, Emmette is very quiet about who she sees outside of her work.
Family
Emmette's immediate family believes she is becoming a mender of some sort, and that she is still traveling to help others. Aside from this she has family in a couple who looks out for Emmette and works for her Father. Ahn'ka Jorahn and Rhotskylt Iyrnbhirsyn. There is also a notable couple from the Azzareth Ossuary and several others, though she does not every use their names.
Friends
Is an ask or /tell basis as well, as Emmette is still a very quiet soul about who she sees, even at work. The list goes on and on from there, but Emmette's associates and companions are often chosen based on their abilities, it is quite possible that those seen with her bring something important to her table.

If you would like a bit of an idea of what she would look like, you cannot go wrong with Florence Welch The artist who did my art for the page currently is my RL friend and the player for Sisika Sika, J'telihgo Umago, and Diana Barlow. I've been told that a good example for -some- not all of her speech pattern and mannerisms would be Vivienne from Dragon Age, I still need to play these games myself but I've watched a lot of cut-scenes. A good idea of her voice, laugh and so on, if you're interested in such would be Deschanel Mirror Rper is what my message says on my Search comment, if you're curious it is just another way of saying that I like to match the detail and length of posts, to that of my rp partner. I think of it as a waste of energy to type up exorbitant amounts for others and not receive the same. -and- I also know what it feels like to be bombarded by a good rper and feel overwhelmed, so I took a friendlier rp stance.
