Hachimitsu Honoka is of Hingan origin. He has found himself primarily in Thanalan, far from home, in search of a certain man last spotted in the region. He is wary around the local populace, choosing his words carefully. He is more likely to keep to himself than to engage in small talk, but is very friendly and polite when approached.

Hachimitsu stands proudly, every movement careful. There is evidence of his well-off upbringing: His long hair is often tied back in a pleat or a high ponytail, kept out of his face by a braided red ribbon. His nails are well kept, and he seems to expand a good amount of effort to keep his appearance clean and well groomed.

His face is often hidden by a mask or cloth, however his eyes (when seen) are often fixed distantly on the horizon. He seems to get poor sleep, as circles are apparent under his eyes. His face, arms and torso are all covered with a myriad of scars, crisscrossing over his muscular form in a seemingly random pattern. The left side of his face has the most apparent scar, running vertically and deeply. This is often the scar his fingers find the most, and he is often seen running a finger across it while deep in thought.

He often enjoys his skin to be exposed to the elements, and is sometimes seen stripped to the waist meditating or training in the snows of Coerthas.

  Hachi is very loyal, to the point of rubbing shoulders with others for the sake of his self-imposed duty. He is polite and courteous, unless someone oversteps his moral code, in which case he reciprocates very sharply, but fairly (in his terms). He can be quite aloof, and sometimes can be read as cold by others that do not know him well. He has issues seeing eye to eye with many Eorzeans due to the difference in upbringing, and thus likes to observe more than interact, so that he may learn more about the locals in the land he's found himself in. He considers himself very fair and just, often times finding himself mediating both sides of an issue unintentionally. He enjoys the thrill of The Hunt, and often travels throughout Eorzea to hunt dangerous beasts with his allies to make a living and support his lifestyle without needing to dip into the wealth he left behind (for the moment) in Kugane.

• Miscellaneous quirks

  He's often seen rubbing one of the many scars under his mask absentmindedly, or fidgeting with the edges of it. His mask holds dear sentimental value to him, and it is often close to him. If he needs to go into battle that risks its injury, he often hides his eyes with a cloth instead. He does not like his expression to be easily read by opponents or allies alike. He's clumsy when it comes to shields, and cannot use one, and instead prefers to wear plated armguards to deflect blows. He prefers bladed weapons, but has some childhood training with a bow.

♦ X'Niri Kaiyn - This doctor was one of the first to approach Hachimitsu. He thinks her a brave and kind soul, with just the right kind of spice.

♦ Michaelleaux Beaudonet - This outrageous Elezen of the Flames loves one thing above all else, money. He quicktalked Hachimitsu into renting a small room from him to stay in Uldah. They became friends over alcohol and books, swapping tales and stories from east and west.
