General Information
I'zumyn Sazhi is a miqo'te of mixed blood, though it is more apparent that she took after her Keeper father. She is a self-taught mage of no small talent, though her self-destructive nature lends itself to a ... "different" spellcasting style. Nonetheless, her passion for the subject of magic and magical theory & history is rivalled only by top magisters and scholars, and she devotes most of her time to seeking and learning more. Her relationship with one Arismont Vainchelon is--was a formative one; both a catalyst for much of the things that happened in her life, and of much of her psyche.

Appearance
I'zumyn looks tired. It could be the dark circles under her darker-still eyes, the look of near-constant exasperation, or the stack of books she's been reading non-stop. She has the kind of face that makes men want to tell a girl to 'Smile!'

It is a pity, because otherwise, her face is pretty; round cheeks, round girlish eyes, and an attractive side-profile-- or perhaps it is that everyone thinks Miqo'te are attractive.

A Seeker of the Sun in all but appearance - where her irises are large and round, designed for a more nocturnal lifestyle, where her tribe-mates possess a Seeker's bright, jewel-like eyes with cat-like irises, dark skin and fur, I'zumyn's hair is blonde, matched against her bronzed skin with a muted tone.

Otherwise, she is short and otherwise unthreatening at a first glance, with little physical strength on her, though it hides a stamina and fitness befitting of a hunter and a traveller, strong thighs made for tracking and traversing the Hinterlands. She retains a layer of fat about her hips and belly, no matter how well she eats, but has long since given up on trying to burn it off.

To most, I'zumyn is begrudgingly civil-- a thinly veiled disdain for one's company until she can return to something that catches her eye more. Her body language often betrays an underlying mild unnerved state, as if she is constantly on edge. She tends to be rather blunt in her speech, with long pauses, but a quiet, soft voice. Otherwise, she can also appear to be cavalier and shallow, who rarely takes things seriously, but I'zumyn is rather capricious and moody, quickly prone to anger and a rather prickly demeanour--and worse, if her ire is stoked.

I'zumyn seems a simple girl who is driven by life's pleasures - sex, money, a good time. It would be true, aside from the fact that she spends near most of her free time with a face in a tome, or hunting. Incapable of simply resting, busies herself with the next pursuit of magic or adrenaline, constantly seeking some new thrill or power in order to prove to the world and to herself that she's alive. I'zumyn spends little time sleeping, owing to the natural circadian rhythm of her body to awaken with the Sun, owing to years of the habit formed living with other Seeker Miqo'te, and a tendency to stay up late into the night, too. She's often squinting even in relatively little daylight. A bad habit of smoking both tobacco and fogweed.

Bookworm: Despite the lack of any actual teaching, I'zumyn is a fervent study, motivated by a passion for knowledge and particularly the study of magic & history, perhaps owing to growing up in the ruins of the Sharlayan Colony.
Hunter-mage: Raised to hunt food and survey the surrounding lands for her tribe, as many Miqo'te are. An expansive knowledge of the lay of the lands, particularly Abalathia's Spire and Coerthas Highlands, as well as how to survive in the wilds.
Combat Abilities
Extensive Thaumaturgy: A more in-depth self-study of the Thaumaturgical school of magic, allows I'zumyn access to a wide array of destructive spells of fire, ice and thunder, and the manipulation of astral and umbral energies, which she is particularly adept at employing.
Blood Rite: Spill your own blood in a sacrificial rite, enhancing magic spellpower. I'zumyn must be careful in using this magic lest she cause more harm to herself than her foes. There is yet more potential to be realized with this ancient magicks, still unknown to I'zumyn for their oft taboo consequences.
Black Magic: An ancient style of magic in accompaniment to Thaumaturgy that I'zumyn yearns to master - and yet her lack of a proper tutelage spells disaster if she is not careful. However, she has studied and practiced moons to master the Ley Lines, and this is the only Black Magic she can cast without causing great harm to herself.
OOC Note
Yes, I'm a bit of a lore-bender when it comes to magic and certain restrictions, though I try to play it off based in as much supporting lore or sense as possible. I enjoy fight RP of all sorts, as does I'zumyn (all the friendly spars! all the lethal deathmatches!), and am happy to use /random, /d20 dice, freeform, or loosely planned outcomes! Just make sure to talk to me about it!

Sixth Astral Era
Childhood

I'zumyn Sazhi was born to I'sonjha Khah and a small branch of the Buffalo tribe based in the foothills of the Dravanian Hinterlands. The tribe eked out a living in the ruins of the Sharlayan colony, devastated by the loss of their primary trades when the scholars returned to their Motherland.

Her father was of a Keeper clan, (unknown to I'zumyn until very recently), and so she takes strongly after her Keeper blood, a fact which caused no small amount of discontent among others. All the same, I'zumyn grew up in the wilds with an untameable passion for magic and dreams of being a Sharlayan scholar, until the Calamity occured.


Seventh Umbral Era
Adulthood
Luckily, the region avoided much of the destruction that elsewhere did, aside from a more rapid erosion and drastic shifting of the mountainous landscape. In the year following, a party of Sharlayan scholars came to the region in order to recover precious items from the Great Library. Due to an incident at the Library involving [REDACTED], most of the party did not survive, bar one man -- Arismont Vainchelon. He was pulled from the unexplicable carnage and nursed back to consciousness with the help of I'zumyn and her mother, I'sonjha. The tribe, however, would not allow him to stay any longer, believing the Duskwight-- and by extension, the young Miqo'te who had brought this man to the tribe's lands, to be inextricably tied to the foul events that took place, and would refuse to welcome such a bad omen to their homes.

I'zumyn met Zeiyth only very recently after gathering up the courage to chase what she knew of her Keeper heritage - which was woefully little. She did not find her wayward father, but instead discovered a whole new dimension to her family that she hadn't considered before, and with it... perhaps a new friend.

Arismont is a charismatic Ishgardian highborn, with a sneer on his face and a personality to match. Incredibly intelligent, and yet... something plagues him. I'zumyn and Arismont share a tempestuous relationship, at best. Both of their natures paint an ugly picture of jealousy, control, aggression... since the incident with [REDACTED], they were forced to go their seperate ways, for now.

Bladed Staff: A staff almost as tall as I'zumyn, wrought into an intricate design. A gem nestled between the blades denotes it as a Thaumaturge's staff.
Various Books: Ranging from one to a few books; usually a non-fictional book on the subject of magic or history.

RP Limits
I'm just here to have fun my dudes. I like long-spanning dramatic plots, silly shit, conflict, over-the-top ridiculousness...etc. I'm also open to pre-established friendships, proposing plots, just talk to me first! I play on Gilgamesh & Balmung servers.
I will play Conflict, fights, dark/mature themes, fluffy fun stuff, over-the-top straight-out-of-my-japanese-animes bullshit.
Ask about Romance. Serious injury. Intent to kill. Violence, abuse, torture, you know, all the extreme ends of dark RP. I enjoy it, in the right context and if I think it'll work for my character, I just want to have a chance to talk about it and either plan or turn down.
I won't play Rape, unprompted ERP (just ain't my thang, dudes), perma-death. I also won't do romance as a whole if you fail to understand certain key points of my character or aren't already close friends with me.
RP Hooks
Here I'll list some prompts that might help spring-board RP, particularly with I'zumyn, and I hope that they'll be helpful for anyone reading, but also myself. It may also be especially helpful to force RP, given that I'zumyn is somewhat of a prickly character.
■ There are a multitude of scars spanning up and down I'zumyn's fore-arms and palms, but especially on her right hand.
■ The staff she carries with her quite obviously marks her as a practicer of Thaumaturgy, at the very least. She enjoys striking up conversations with anyone interested in magic. However, outside of city-states and civilised areas, I'zumyn makes little attempt to conceal her other, slightly more taboo magical practices.
■ I'zumyn will pick up most hunting jobs going. Ain't no thing too small.

Hi, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I bled sweat and tears into wrestling with it. I'm from the UK, so timezones are my actual worst enemy. I play on Gilgamesh & Balmung. I'm kind of really spacey and also a ball of nerves, but RP is one of my favourite hobbies. I'll usually be down to RP with most folks. Updating as I go. Last update: 13/03/17.
Character Lore Adherence
I like to bend the lore a little. Maybe a lot. I'll note things here that aren't wholly supported by evidence in the lore, though I usually like to support it anyway.
■ Soulstones: I'zumyn doesn't use a soulstone. I think the arbitrary restrictions on Jobs make difficult for roleplaying (like white mages?), so I adjusted.
■ Blood magic: Is obviously not an existing magic class in game, nor is there any abilities or traits that evidence it, bar my own headcanoning on Convert and lore from 1.0 THM. This is what it's based on though, and while it's heavily inspired by Dragon Age, I tried to make it fit to Eorzea's setting as much as possible without outright ripping. I'm sorry Yoshi P.
■ The Great Gubal Library: In I'zumyn's canon, and a big part of her backstory, an incident occured where a high-ranking voidsent was summoned here, and proceeded to haunt the foothills of the Hinterlands for summers since, until being put down and banished.
Character Concept/Inspiration
A lot of my inspiration comes from things like Dragon Age, ASOIAF, as well as dealing with my own experiences. I'zumyn's concept is that of a self-destructive, power-hungry nature, and breaking free of the bonds of control, with an askew, self-serving set of morals. I like writing terrible people that still manage to be sympathetic because they're only human.
