This is an advanced template that makes use of a lot of HTML and wiki code. While beautiful, it is not beginner friendly. While the author has marked many sections with helpful tips, only users who are familiar with HTML and wikicode should use this template. An external editor may be needed to track code changes and issues.

This is the second wiki format used by Glioca Sargonnai seen here, and utilizes a lot of changes inspired by and from a lot of different sources. Please leave the credits section wholly intact if you use it, or add to it if you need to!

I will resolve all combat with rolls, unless agreed upon prior to the fight, for reasons such as an unsuitable match up. I will inflict penalties to my own roles for certain actions -- for instance, attempting to grapple or match a large Roe in a feat of strength.

History
.
Disclaimer: .
Sixth Astral Era
Childhood
Near twenty years ago, the J tribe of Gyr Abania was home to a female Seeker of the Sun, J'Maja Naja. The female Miqo'te bore two children for the Nunh, only a few summers between their births. The first was a daughter, J’huju Kanta. The second, J'Ihand Tia, who his mother fondly called J'Mama, for the way he clung to her side. The two children took to the tribe well, despite the turmoil that had consumed the land they were born into. J'Huju, though, saw herself as a part of more than just the J tribe. She saw herself and beholden to Ala Mhigo-- as a warrior, who would fight for their land as her mother once had. And so, nearing her sixteenth summer, she departed to join the resistance. It was then, in J'Ihand's fourteenth summer, that he saw his sister abandon his family and tribe for a war that wasn't theirs, and that same summer when he learned of her death for a nation that refused to just die, determined to drag so many innocents with it into it's decline. It was then, when the imperials came to seek retribution for his sisters actions -- the foolish woman having been caught and killed attempting to sneak explosives into an Imperial barracks -- that J'Ihand swore loyalty to Garlemald, in exchange for their forgiveness. It was then that he was conscripted to serve the Empire.
No more than sixteen summers, J'Ihand had been conscripted by the Garleans, and put to work enforcing the rule of Imperial Ala Mhigo. He saw first hand the violence and chaos spread by Ala Mhigans who refused to accept the Empire's rule, and the strife they caused forever tainted the young Seeker's view of the resistance. They were exactly what the true Garleans said they were: savages.
Years of service were completed uneventfully. The Seeker was a proficient archer, trained in both the bow and musket. He performed tasks assigned to him dutifully, and served the Empire with the loyalty he'd sworn from the beginning. In recognition of this service, a particular task was found for J'Ihand. He would be assigned to a crew of pirates in the employ of the empire, one of several operatives among the crew. Joining the crew of The Hoarse Maiden, under the employ of an Elezen captain by the name of Elandril, J'Ihand was sent out to sea, and eventually to the ports of La Noscea to undermine Eorzean fleets in the area, and further the Empire's pursuits.
J'Ihand took to piracy well. The resentment he held towards Ala Mhigans was pushed from his mind, and he could refocus on what almost seemed a normal life; sure, every day was actually in service of the Empire, but weeks out at see allowed the Miqo'te distance from his service; distance enough that he could fool himself into believing that his life was without strife, without pain. It wasn't long before the Seeker from Gir Abania walked, talked, and fought like a La Noscean Pirate, through and through, so committed to the farce was he.
Of course, beneath the fascade, J'Ihand knew what he was. He was a Garlean operative, and that fact forever tied him to his past. After several years aboard the Hoarse Maiden, J'Ihand began to crave the certainty of life back in Gyr Abania. He was less free there, of course -- his life regimented, and surrounded by the hostilities that gripped the region -- but he had structure. A clear purpose in every action, every day. On the ship, nothing really mattered, so long as in the end, their jobs were complete. So it was that J'Ihand drafted a letter to request transfer to a unit of Gyr Abanian's, who would oppose resistance fighters in the area.
Before his letter could be sent, however, the Calamity struck. The Hoarse Maiden sank, though most of the crew survived; Only the captain and a few hands who had refused to abandon ship lost their life to the waters that day.
Immediately, the operatives planted by the Garleans took control of the remaining control. Organizing themselves, they struck out to capture another vessel -- a pirate ship, which had been in port at the time of the calamity, and spared from a fate at the bottom of the ocean. With this, they could continue their service to the Empire, and eventually, return to friendly waters.
J'Ihand and the rest of the crew of the Horse Maiden successfully captured the ship, killing what few pirates were on board with ease. They stole the ship and tossed the bodies in the harbor, setting out to sea. Before they could even depart the harbor, though, two Limsan warships which had somehow survived the Calamity's wrath pulled aside the new Hoarse Maiden, and boarded: the bodies of the previous crew had been discovered in the harbor, and word sent to the two vessels as they sought refuge from the sea. Poor timing and bad luck gave birth to a fierce battle between the two ships and the Hoarse Maiden's crew. Many of the Hoarse Maiden's pirates were slain, including several of the operatives who served in it. Seeing no way to win the battle, J'Ihand did the only thing he could: he lept from the ship, and into the waters of La Noscea, swimming his way back to shore. Certain he was the only to survive, the Seeker was now without a crew, without a ship, and without any means to reach his Garlean allies.
He was stranded in Eorzea.

Seventh Umbral Era
Adulthood
Elandril sought employment with many unscrupulous employers in his time surviving in lands ruled by the Eorzean Alliance, varying from working underneath individuals such as Serpent Reavers, to the Immortal Flames, to common mercenary groups. Eventually, he secured employment with the adventuring Free Company, the Gold And Glory.
As an employee of the Gold and Glory, the soldier-turned adventurer assisted in a wide variety of tasks to further the Company's interests, namely those of the owner's, Maximillian and Anthony Crawford. A self-reported pragmatist, Elandril often sacrificed tact or morality on assignments, for the sake of having them done with minimal risk to the company, and with a maximized turn of profit.

The following items are things that this individual carries on their person at all times. These are noted for pickpockets, and those watching her closely. This information is meant to be a prompt for insight and is not to be meta-gamed, though feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in RP (pickpocketing, a search, etc) with use of a simple /tell.

RP Limits
I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but even I have my limits. If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no, and it means don't ask.

RP Hooks
While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. Longer plots that are meant to run for more than a few quick RP's, please feel free to send me a tell so we can work out a good reason for our characters to get to know one another. I'm always looking for RP, unless I'm actively spamming PvE content.

Player Information
Player Note
There is a lot of information on this character wiki, but it is by no means completely comprehensive. There are chunks of backstory that are left intentionally vague so that details can be later added as developed through creative writing or in role-play revelation. Feel free to use Common or Uncommon rumors freely, if you want to use a Rare Rumor as a plot hook or to spark RP, I would ask that you send me a tell first, to make certain it's alright.

Tropes & Explanations
A trope is a convention or device that is often found in creative works. In this case, the tropes below describe my character either in part, or as a whole. Their background, personality, appearance, etc, most of them can be described in the tropes below.
Trope Tropes are devices and conventions that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members' minds and expectations. On the whole, tropes are not clichés.
