Her eyes are blue with icy limbal rings, sharp and accented by a horizontal bar of dark blue facepaint, which gives her a slightly intimidating glare. Her face is angular, yet youthfully rounded, and has dark scales on her cheeks and along her jawline, as well as a patch starting in the middle of her forehead, reaching down almost to the tip of her nose. On the sides of her head are a pair of horns, which jut forward following the shape of her jaw, ending in a point. Most often, she keeps her hair short, with bangs in the front and two long tails tied up on either side, falling behind her horns. Scales make their way down her neck, covering large parts of her body.

On initial meeting, Jakatolui is usually seen as energetic and excitable, especially given her labile temperament. She is similarly unreliable in her work and tends to follow impulsive whims, leading her to act recklessly more often than not. Despite this, she manages to adapt easily to different situations, being quite flexible so long as it helps her reach her goals. Lying is certainly not above her, and she often gives off the impression of being totally self-absorbed. This, in combination with her crude and juvenile sense of humor, makes her seem quite immature much of the time, however entertaining it may be to those watching from a safe distance. Despite this, her outlook is rather cynical and she is evasive when asked personal questions.

'''Present day:'''

<br>''(As far as my character knows. He was out at the time of the cave-in. If you want to RP someone who was there and add details for the cave-in, please feel free to contact me)''

<br>While minor cave-ins are not rare in the Noyakir caves, there was recently a very large one which caused the death and injury of most cave-dwellers inside at the time. Many Noyakir believe the cave-in was caused by the tribe's growing proficiency with trading, given their belief that the caverns were dug by a race of giant oliphant-like beetles placed on the land by the gods to punish the elder tribes for their greed.

As a result, many of the remaining Noyakir cave-dwellers would prefer to go back to the southern deserts, to rejoin the Uyagir. The wanderers, however, mostly want to rebuild and return to their established lifestyle.

Each Noyakir must decide for themselves if they wish to stay, search for another suitable home or attempt to join another tribe.

<br>'''History:'''

Originating from the cave-dwelling Uyagir tribe of southern Othard, the Noyakir were a hopeful group who believed their network of caves to be infinite, connected to all other caves, if only in need of a little digging. They set out for the northern range in hopes of expanding the tribe's territory by digging a straight passageway between their old home and what would become their new one.

The Noyakir settled in a vast cavern among the beginnings of the northern mountains and set to work. In these new caves lay untapped veins of ore, and it wasn't long before the Noyakir realized they had stumbled upon something useful.

This led the tribe to divide once again, out of necessity. Wildlife is a little more scarce in the mountains, so while most of the tribe spent their time digging away, looking for ore and hidden passageways towards the Uyagir, others would wander the steppes, trading ore and trinkets for supplies, as well as gathering and hunting all they could to sustain their brothers and sisters back home.

<br>'''Lifestyle:'''

The tribe consists of two main groups, the cave-dwellers and the wanderers. Children are raised mostly in the caves and usually taught some of the local craft. When they reach the cusp of adulthood, the young are brought on a journey with the wanderers and taught how to survive, hunt and trade. Upon their return, they are allowed to choose which path they would like to pursue.

The path of a wanderer is a more traditional one for the Xaela. The wanderers travel in groups, the composition and size of which will vary depending on the goal of the particular journey. Most of these journeys will take several weeks, if not months Some wanderers prefer to focus on the hunt, and thus will pack lightly and travel in small groups. Others prefer to seek out friendly tribes with whom to trade, requiring more manpower to carry goods from place to place. Due to the "earthy" nature of most of their wares, they will sometimes even bring some of the few beasts of burden in the tribe's possession with them on their journeys.

On the other hand, the cave-dweller's life is relatively comfortable. While many work with pick in hand in the deepest reaches of the caves, several others spend their days making trinkets, raising young and fishing in the underground pools nearer the surface. There are even some who spend most of their time outside, hunting for mountain game and keeping watch for hostile tribes.

<br>'''The cave:'''

Located near the base of the northern range of mountains in Othard, the area surrounding the cave is cool and wooded. The mouth of the cave itself was originally somewhat obscured by trees, but over time wood was required for support in new passageways, and the nearby flora has thinned somewhat.

The caverns are formed mostly in marble, and, like the Uyagir, the Noyakir believe them to have been carved by giant oliphant-like beetles. The majority of the Noyakir settlement lies a little beyond the entrance, almost out of sight from the outside, if not for a faint glowing at the end of a dark passageway. While a more permanent variation of yurts used to suffice for housing in the main chambers, many cave-dwellers have chosen to dig out their own living quarters from the stone walls. There are pools of water of varying sizes throughout the caverns. In the living areas, these pools are often used for bathing. Deeper in, the pools are mostly used by fishermen, but it is not uncommon to find energetic youths playing in the water on occasion. Most of the cave is unsupported, the Noyakir trusting in the architectural integrity of the creatures they believe to have dug out the place, but the miners have learned to put up support beams when creating new passages.

General

Appearance

Jakatolui stands at about 5 fulms, 2 ilms tall, and has an athletic build. Her skin is a medium gray, and her hair white with dark blue ends.

This Au Ra can be seen wearing a number of things. When she's out, she likes to wear scale and plate armour, whatever she has obtained most recently. Around town she will often opt for more comfortable attire. A salmon vest, smithing gloves, some shorts, thigh high leather boots and a decorated purple bandana make up her usual outfit, though variation isn't uncommon. However, she will almost always be wearing gloves and boots, even when she dresses for the beach.

Demeanor

On initial meeting, Jakatolui is usually seen as energetic and excitable, especially given her labile temperament. She is similarly unreliable in her work and tends to follow impulsive whims, leading her to act recklessly more often than not. Despite this, she manages to adapt easily to different situations, being quite flexible so long as it helps her reach her goals. Despite this, her outlook is rather cynical and she is evasive when asked personal questions.

Jakatolui tends to dislike authority, organised religion and people who actively keep her from having fun, but on occasion she can recognise when submitting to those people can pose an advantage for her.

She could be described as adventurous in most regards of her life, and her primary motivators are to have fun and to gain recognition.

Some History

Noyakir Tribe Info

The Noyakir once made their home in a vast system of caves in the northern mountains of Othard, but due to a major cave-in, its remains have begun to scatter. The cave-dwellers, once miners and crafters, fishermen and look-outs, now have only rubble and broken homes. The wanderers, once hunters and traders, now have no place to which they can return. Those who are of able-body have made their decision either to stay, to search for another home, or to join a new tribe.

Weaknesses/Faults

Blind to her own faults : What do you mean the weapon I sold you's not good enough? You're not good enough!
Can't take criticism : See "Blind to her own faults."
Low alcohol resistance : She likes the stuff, but she's actually not so good at holding her liquor.
Terrible salesman : Jakatolui thinks what she makes is the best around, so often she will either not put any effort into sales (thinking the "quality" speaks for itself), or flat-out lie about how "amazing" it is.

Those Closer

Qaratolui Noyakir -- Her twin brother, actually slightly older than her, but she'll never let him know that. Jakatolui always got the impression her parents favoured him, so she always tried to show him up whenever she could, even pulling pranks on him and trying to frame him when she got caught. After a while he caught on and spoiled her fun by being hard to track down, hiding in the caves where she found it too musty. After her first journey, she never saw Qaratolui again. She figures he's probably still hiding in the caves somewhere.

RP Hooks and Potential Connections

General

Jakatolui frequents smithing workshops often enough (though she may get kicked out). If you see her there, feel free to tell her what a great job she's doing.
Jakatolui finds herself at bars pretty often. She likes to try the different drinks people make up, and wouldn't mind someone to foot the bill.
Jakatolui goes to the Gold Saucer pretty often. No, she doesn't have a gambling problem, though she wouldn't mind having someone blow on her dice or split the cost on her next cactpot ticket (though don't expect a fair cut of the winnings).
Anyone hanging around Hawker's Alley might hear her arguing with merchants and patrons alike. Nobody seems to understand her unique genius.
Like camping? Maybe Jakatolui will pay your bonfire a visit and consume half of your food and ale. Unless you're having fish.
If you've got a pest problem, or just want to watch someone swing an axe around wildly, Jakatolui would be happy to help.
Jakatolui often has an unusually high amount of weapons on her person, even some she has no idea how to use. If you want to trade/think she's suspicious/are looking to rob someone, feel free to try.
If you spend a lot of time at the Miner's Guild in Ul'dah, you might have seen Jakatolui trying to get some ore from them for cheap, or just hanging around their bar.
Sometimes you might find her fishing by just about any body of water. Or, well, attempting to fish. Feel free to say hi, they likely aren't biting anyway.
Jakatolui is pretty unfamiliar with magic, so if you do something even slightly magical she'll probably be amazed. Even more so if she's had a few drinks already.

Tribe

If your character has ever ventured near the northern mountains of Othard, they might have heard of or even met some of the Noyakir tribe's traders.
If your character was actually part of the Noyakir tribe, then you probably know who Jakatolui is. Or at least her family.

Currently Looking For

IC
"Clients." No, not that kind! Jakatolui sells her wares as a smith. They are usually pretty shoddy, but she doesn't know that!
Suppliers. She's only very modestly skilled at gathering her own materials, so someone willing to sell her mats for cheap would be perfect.
People to buy her drinks (she calls them "friends"). Jakatolui likes to have fun, but makes no money selling garbage. Don't expect an automatic invitation to spend the entire evening with her, however.
OOC
Some friends! She's pretty loud so meeting people probably won't be difficult, but finding people who tolerate her antics might be rare.
Haters. Yep. Au Ra are suddenly popping up everywhere, and I don't expect everyone to like it. It's not like Jakatolui's got a great rep, either, so it may be for different reasons. If you've got a bone to pick, feel free to get in her face about it. Though she may bite.
