Basic Info

A pit fighter, hunter, seeker of challenges, and now a mercenary under Solace Edge, Khatar'sae can be seen training at the Pugilist's guild and more recently in Revenant's Toll where the guild is currently based. His taciturn nature often hides his enthusiasm for all things fighting. He has an ash colored skin tone and whitish-grey hair with birthmarks around his eyes akin to coeurl spots. Standing at roughly 5'8'' Khatar'sae is taller than most of his race and usually sports various shades of white and red. Little would stand out in his attire save for his spiked plated gauntlets facial tattoos, and face paint if he is out hunting or fighting. From the fist weapons on his side it can be easily deduced that he specializes in pugilism.

History

As the prefix in his name suggests, Khatar'sae is the fourth child of his family and raised in the wilderness of the Black Shroud. While his family was disappointed that they had no daughters to carry on the family line, he was raised as one of their own. Early on in his life he had taken to hunting and eventually fighting. While it was the former that he found himself doing more often he sparred with the other clan members whenever he could. His family would move into Gridania during his teens and Khatar'sae would find himself joining the Lancer's Guild with his eldest brother. As the years pass by Khatar'sae finds himself pressured more often to find a mate, both irritating him and causing him to become anxious. After hearing rumors of pugilism and realizing that he did not want to shoulder the responsibility of starting a family, he eventually decides to leave his clan and make his way to Ul'dah.

Khatar'sae unsurprisingly joined the Pugilist's guild upon reaching Ul'dah and picked up the art relatively quick. He slept and cleaned in the guild for a time before he can afford to pay for living space through pit fighting, hunting, and the ocasional mercenary job. After losing most of his funds in an ill fated match in triple triad and a series of unsuccessful bets in the colliseum, Khatar'sae eventually joins Solaris Edge in hopes of making his money back.

Personality

Like many keeper miqo'te Khatar'sae carries a reserved demeanour and generally keeps to himself. He usually prefers to observe his surroundings and lose himself in his own thoughts than be a part of it, often prone to mumbling and thinking out loud. Few things would draw emotions from the miqo'te, however if those things are known it would not be difficult to get a smile from him. Hidden behind his aloofness and his taciturn nature is a restless thrill seeker. Khatar'sae is quick to jump on challenges he thinks are worthy and while methodical in his approaches, he can find himself overeager and reckless. He often lets out a mischievous smile when they are the topic of conversation and when taking them on, that smile can escalate to a large toothy grin. He is extremely competitive as well and easily goaded into ill-advised gambles and challenges. Whether or not he is challenged, he would set goals for himself to surpass others in anything from a simple game of cards to who can hunt down the larger prey. Despite his tendency to wander and take challenges on a whim, Khatar'sae has a tendency penchant for establishing routines, often with his training and his prayers.

Affiliations

Khatar'a Banchamek: "A Twin Adder and the eldest son in my family, the one I spoke to the most. He was strrrong, cunning, well loved in the clan, and someone I wished to surpass... a shame he was lost in the Battle of Silvertear Skies. I look forward to hunting and sparrring with him once more after I die."

Z'aida Tia: "Our paths have crossed on multiple occasions, friendlier than most miqo'te I have encountered. He is a Triple Trrriad player just as I and we have had many duels against eachother. I would like to duel him again when he has obtained stronger cards."

Ume Muto: "An Au Ra who often falls asleep due to prrroblems with the aether and potential mate of Uldar. I know little else of her save for the fact that she plays Triple Trrriad as well. I look forward to dueling her again, once she has strrronger cards."

Istellia Montagne: "The leader of Solaris Edge. She seems knowledgeable about mercenary work and cares for her own. Her skills in battle I can not yet gauge... had she kept hold onto her axe when we had sparred the rrresult could have been different."

Madoc Parnell: "Another leader of Solaris Edge. The Au Ra seems... relaxed, calm. He is more talkative than the others in the guild. He is deceptively fast for his size and knows to use it to his advantage."

Temame Kajiya: "She crrreates and repeairs weapons in the guild. She is quick and her technique is sound, though she lacks composure and is easily swayed by her emotions. She seems trroubled each time I see her. It is unfortunate that she is unwilling to share her troubles and unable to carry their burden. Temame is also a skilled trriple triad player and though I have bested her Onion Knight, I am sure she will imprrrove and become a more difficult challenge in our next meeting."

Uldar Qestir: "We entered the guild at the same time and he is the only one I have met prrrior to joining. His tribe likes to stay silent and speak with their actions, though this one is quick to speak at times. He seems stern and at times, irrritable."

Sahn Catahl: "Mrm, the new alchemist of our guild... conceited and little more than a convenience, situational at best. I doubt that she can see past herself, though it is more efficient to have our own alchemist, one who has a lancer with her no less. It does not do the guild worse to have her with us, that I will not deny. I like her better when she is not... condescending with her words, or at the verry least, not using them."
