[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION A pit fighter, hunter, and seeker of challenges, Khatar'sae can be seen training at the Pugilist's guild or wandering the deserts of Thanalan. He carries a strong survival of the fittest mentality and his taciturn nature often hides his penchant for gambling, be it with gil or his life. He has an ash colored skin tone and whitish-grey hair with birthmarks around his eyes akin to coeurl spots. The Keeper usually sports a turban and dresses in rags, though he would generally be seen in furs or more tribal clothing should the climate allow for it. From the fist weapons on his side it can be easily deduced that he specializes in pugilism. PERSONALITY Like many keeper miqo'te Khatar'sae carries a reserved demeanor and generally keeps to himself, often prefering to observe his surroundings than interacting with them. He does not speak much but when he does he tends to be blunt with his words, speaking his mind regardless of how it would affect others. With this stoicism lies a sort of stubbornness. Khatar'sae will fight back when provoked, almost always standing his ground even on the pettiest of matters. He is also thrill-seeker bordering on recklessness. He would go out of his way to seek challenges, seeming to care little for the possible consequences. Despite his boldness Khatar'sae is a superstitious sort, often carrying charms, throwing gil into fountains, and praying for good luck. Likes ■ Challenges. Khatar'sae enjoys the thrill of a challenge, the more difficult the better. Of course he enjoys conquering them just as much if not more. ■ Combat. Combat is more than just two people hurting eachother, to Khatar'sae fighting is living in its purest form. There are few things he finds more enjoyable than fighting and more satisfying than winning a fight, though his love for combat is not only limited to participation or even his own discipline. Watching and studying different disciplines is also something he enjoys. Dislikes ■ Losing. Given his competitive nature this should be no surprise. Khatar'sae is his own worst critic and does not forget his own shortcomings, though he does recognize that there are lessons to be learned from losses. Hobbies ■ Hunting. Khatar'sae enjoys being out in the wilderness and hunting, be it for food, coin, or the challenge. ■ Triple Triad. This is where his competitiveness meets with his gambling habits. Though card collecting has taken a back seatrecently, he still takes the game just as seriously as he does fighting. ■ Drinking Tea. He'd even drink tea in the middle of the hot Thanalan desert. Strengths ■ Pugilism. His six years of training under the Pugilist's Guild does not tell the whole story. Khatar'sae has spent his whole life hunting and fighting, with much of it involving wrestling. He can be adaptable in combat and can fight aggressively or conservatively when needed. . ■ Wilderness Survival. Having been brought up in a traditional Keeper clan has made him a capable hunter and tracker. This has also given him other skills such as gathering herbs, setting up camps, and cooking, making him quite self-proficient. ■ Tactical. Khatar'sae tends to be a logical thinker and his time spent observing and thinking on his own does not go to waste. If allowed he will more often than not assess the situation and adjust accordingly both in and outside of combat. He is also opportunistic, able to spot and take opportunities as they present themselves. Weaknesses ■ Recklessness. While capable of being cunning and a quick thinker he can lose himself in the heat of the moment the more he relies on his instinct. Combined with his self belief and risk taking tendencies, it is not uncommon for him to bite off more than he can chew as his scars and crippling debt would suggest. ■ Magic. Although he had trained as a monk and was able to unlock four chakras through hard work, he has trouble channeling the fourth and there is little he can do with chakra outside of using it to enhance his athleticism. Magic does not come easily to him. ■ Blunt. With his direct nature and his lack of social interactions, Khatar'sae can come off as insensitve and his interactions can often be antagonistic. Motivations ■ Self Improvement - His primary motivation is to improve his skills as a monk and to conquer all challenges in front of him. If the latter is complete he would often find new ones. ■ Coin - Khatar'sae is not a materialistic sort but he would not deny the convenience of having gil in his pocket. Aside from travel most of his gil would be spent on tea and gambling.
