Appearance & Personality

Appearance:

Big, Scary and a dash of rogue-ish charm is mostly what people see when they lay their eyes upon Lyngbakr. But looking behind the beard and the scary face, some might find him as a real comfortable man to look at, -not by his looks-, but his Ocean blue eyes that shines when he smiles. He wears a shirt almost all the way open and Breeches, on top of his head you would find his pride; a Tricorne, perfect fit as a captain's hat, Some think that Lyng is blind on one eye because of the eyepatch, but this is simply not the case, and he's not afraid of telling you why.

But he does often walk around with rather heavier attire lately, often hiding his face from people with his helmet. Seems like he does not like to be seen around when he does that, Under the helmet he hides a long, brown hair that touches almost all the way down to his lower back.

Personality:

He is a very strong man, but in that, he is also very weak. He is a good man, with a good heart, but it makes him a bit of a terrible pirate.

His strength and desire to be outwardly strong, leave him very open. If he feels like he does not meet his own expectations, he goes above and beyond to prove a point, just the same with failure, but that never tends to do quite as planned. He does it with haste and with little fore-thought, and in his haste, tends to leave himself open.

He is a man of the sea and lives life loving treasure and the symbol a crew brings. It is prideful, it is exciting, and it is grand adventure with good people and some really good pay out.

His heart is too good to truely ever be a 'pirate'. He would never plunder a town and ravage homes for the sake of treasure. He is a pirate in the way all Limsians were 'pirates'.

They would pillage the city of their enemies or whatever, but as far as innocent people? No.

He also plays the tough guy, but really he dearly loves everyone arund him who calls him 'friend'. He is hard on them and teases them because that is his way of showing them he cares and accepts them.

He is hard and makes those comments out of love. It is his way of showing affection. It means he cares about you. He would never do it if he didn't. ...He would likely simply make a crass remark and leave.

Lately it seems like he has been wearing a more knightly armor around in Limsa, what that does bring, no one knows. Seems like he's trying to redeem himself from something, maybe even changing his ways to a better thing. His Kind hearted soul is always there for friends as he easily jumps infront of an arrow or bullet, especially when he feels that person deserves the protection.

Ilena has been lurking around Lyng since that day, they occasionally stopped by eachother when they met in Limsa. After a couple of moons later, they became something more than just acquaintance, they became friends in adventuring. The relationship bloomed under the trees of the shroud, shined under the open sky of La noscea, forged by the heat of Thanalan, that held the warmth in the cold Coerthas. What it really means is that through Adventuring, they found the person they have been missing, someone that truely understands and cares for one and other. ♥ Marisaie Pelderain - Lyng met Marisaie through the grindstone, when she healed his wounds during battles. The elderly elezen truely worried about the massive armoured mountain as he was silent, not saying a word - yet managed to explain himself to her without using any, She grew fond of him. Over the time of a couple of moons, Lyng became like a son to her, He has protected her whenever he could, even if it was not his battle. Lyng would never let an innocent get hurt while he was watching, especially if there was someone he knew. Marisaie confronted Lyng about what worried her, and felt that Lyng was conflicted with something in his mind, which was right. Marisaie promised then - and still promises, to be there for Lyng when the problem has to be confronted. ♥ Madam Seraphine - So many bottles, So little time to break them. This Woman has broken so many wine bottles he's been buying her and her "dates" out of generosity. After a while it has become a rather token of friendship which has grown to something more than anything. He looks at Sera as his own pup, and is damn worried about her like one as well, one of the encounters made him even more worried. Each and every broken bottle is a small gesture to show each other that even if the bottle is broken, the friendship is still strong. A village that took in a wounded pup, a village that is blinded by the dark as it drowned by fire and water, still stands. ♥ Nenanie Durendaire - Seraphine introduced him to Nenanie at the Wench in Limsa lominsa, they talked for a while, shared stories and drinks. Seeing Seraphine so happy that day truely made Lyng happy to be there to see it. Lyng enjoys talking to Nenanie about everything and nothing, he respects her interest in magic, even though some part of it makes him keep his eyes extra alerted. Yet this Duskwight knows how to lighten up the mood without magic when it is needed. ♥ Minox Moks - When Lyng needed her most, she was not so willing, but who can blame her. When Lyng has something on his mind, he is either silent like the mountain, Or trying to break everything like a hurricane. He thought that Minox was one of those who understood him, shamely that was not the case. Lyng cares so much about Minox, as a sister, He really wishes everything well for her and he knows he's blunt, hard as rock against her And he regrets it. ● Serris Le'omend - One single strike it took, one strike to understand more about this miqo'te than any other. Lyng has his eyes on that woman as he curiously watches her, something was strange on how she always wanted to make sure everything was allright between them. Time healed the wounds, until a new one arised, but this time they both got into their senses and talked about it like they should have from the start. ● Corbeaux Baptiste - Lyng did the mistake and judged this Duskwight by the covers, but learned a lot when this man started to trust him. His respect grows ever more for every time they meet, it seems like this man is one of the few Lyng truly respect. It is not often that Lyng calls male people by respect as "Ser/Sir", but something has triggered him to choose his words wisely around this Elezen, is it out of fear that the Duskwight might mistake his words for him wanting to cross him? Maybe so. But Lyng enjoy's the Duskwight's company, as well as his little Miqo'te that's always around him. ● Nai Ruahki - Nai is a rather strange one to know Lyng, He simply whistled after the miqo'te because he didn't want her to be standing alone while his table were almost full of strangers. They got to know each other by Lyng telling one of his many stories he is so fond of telling. But as of late, he has started to care more and more for this Miqo'te as a dear friend, she has no fear of yelling at the big Roe if she feels something is not right. Which is why one of the reasons he respect this woman so much, she has the guts to say when something is wrong, or when something is worrying her. ● Typhos Highwind - Typhos is a dragoon trained by the ishgarians, Ishgardians that Lyng frowns upon. Yet it doesn't make his opinion about Typhos bad, nay, Lyng is a man that loves to meet new people and judge them by his own experience - Even giving them a chance if folks have said not to. Nevertheless, Typhos is a typical good-guy Hero in Lyngs eyes. Strangely they do fit well together as friends, sharing stories and opinions on everything without resolving to violence. Why would they? They have the shared opinion about morale, on the most part atleast. But Typhos is truely a hero that Lyng never will be, because he has no interest in such. ● Leoshi Summerwind - Even though it all started by her eavesdropping on his conversation, -and him scaring her afterwards- They have been close together in any kind of danger or socializing going on. She simply charmed the big roe by making him dinner (with the amount of food she made, she could have easily fed an army of goobbues). Shamely they grew apart and lost that romantic touch that made their bond strong... They parted ways as friends. ● Oliver Amaranth - Even though this kid with a bow has had Lyng alerted for a while now, he's slowly started to regain neutral opinion about the lad. After all, Oliver is dating his dear sister (not by blood). He will refrain from using violence for now. RP Hooks You might know Lyngbakr if...
