For a woman born of a Wildwood mother and a Midlander father, Marielle stands rather short at 5 fulms and 3 ilms. Her weight is something most women tend to keep a secret, and she almost always carries herself with grace, piety and compassion; her shoulders dainty and her head oft turning as if daydreaming. Marielle possesses a small, up-turned button nose and soft, pink cupid's bow lips where a single beauty spot graces ilms below. As someone expected of her race, she possesses ears with a slight curve and droop, often poking out or tucked behind her hair unbridled, admired for its expanse and shimmer; as a rose gold garland atop her head and cascades down her slender back like a veil. Her doll-like features are delicately framed with feathered bangs which part more to the left side of her face, they marry to the woman's gaze, a near endless, kind and tender gaze; never one to frown nor look upon another with spite. Marielle's doe-like eyes, soft and blue, reflect the very gentle-nature found within her heart. She has since discarded her signature white headband and allows her silken tresses to fall freely in waterfalls, often choosing to adorn it with berries tart and sweet scented blooms.
At a young age, upon reaching adolescence, Marielle found her form developing much faster than other girls. As a result she has been both blessed and cursed with a curvaceous and bountiful bust; however she often wishes she was of a smaller size as she finds it makes her appear less feminine, and the occasional target of unwelcoming glances. She supports her torso with a small waist and hips shapely enough to bare children, yet still retains a dainty constitution from the many dresses she wears; usually seen in pastel pinks or blues.
She's fond of baths-- preferably with bubbles! Regularly, she washes and moisturizes herself in rose-scented soaps and oils (from The Evergarden Boutique, of course), and oft delicately daubs a scent of lavender perfume behind her ears; fragrant enough to be in apple-pie order but not enough to offend the senses. As a demure and besuited woman, Marielle isn't opposed to the idea of make-up as she daubs a rose-tinted balm of honey across her lips, sustaining a shimmering and supple finish. With a light dusting of powder to confer her cheeks a sweet yet subtle afterglow, Marielle finishes her morning routine with a light gel to darken her long and thick eyelashes.
Scars & Markings: Upon her right shoulder, she suffers a three-clawed scar which inflicts her flesh; as of recent her husband, Cyrian, has tattooed three red butterflies over the scars to help Marielle move on from the event which cursed her with the gruesome marks. Along her arms, from her shoulders to her wrists, there can oft be seen feint intricate markings. Across her stomach she bares a long scar starting from her left hip and ending at her belly-button. And lastly, along her right thigh she possesses a deep scar, one of which she gained during a dark moment in her life.

Likes
Tea. There really isn't anything a good cup of tea can't fix! As a 'connoisseur' of teas, there isn't a single one that Marielle hasn't tried; save for the ones in the East where she hopes to soon visit! She likes to take her every day tea with a splash of night milk and a spoonful or two of honey.
Children. When it comes to children, Marielle is an absolute sweetheart. When she isn't tending to others or going about her daily routine, she makes a note to visit the Acorn Orchard to read and play with the children. She has become something of an older sister to them and they enjoy when she vists, especially when she brings her famous Honey Muffins.
Animals. Just like with children, Marielle is an utter softie when it comes to animals. She treats all with care, and given her kindly nature she would sooner rush into a fray to help mend a coeurl's paw than think twice for her own safety. She owns some pets of her own. She adores her pet ferret, Pomelina, and her two Chocobos Bellflower, and Dahlia - who was formerly owned by her father.
Flowers. Speak of flowers and Marielle will come running. In her spare time she helps with her grandparent's business, The Evergarden Boutique, by venturing about the three continents and selling flowers with the hope of brightening someone's day. In her own home she possesses a great deal of vases each with their own arrangements, one might think her head is full of flowers at this point.
Cooking. As a child growing into adolescence, Marielle set herself the responsibility of learning housecraft. She cleans, she sews, and most of all... she cooks! She tends to favour the sweet and spicy as opposed to the sour and savoury. Her most signature dishes range from homemade pancakes to curries hot enough to make Ifrit himself blush! There's no doubt the woman can cook, but of course, Marielle is a humble sort but prides herself on her ability to fill a happy tummy!
Singing. While she's isn't exactly possessing of a voice blessed of Menphina, Marielle sings well enough. She sings when she's happy, she sings when she's sad, and sometimes a little inbetween. Often will she combine healing abilities with her sweet, fae-like voice. She was also taught how to play the harp alongside her grandmother.
Her friends. Without them, Marielle would surely live a lonely life. Whilst growing up, she lacked any due to her heritage. Often called a 'half-breed' by the other children, she never quite found herself fitting in with neither Midlander nor Wildwood. Thankfully, as time progressed and Marielle grew older and more wiser, she's found herself slowly and steadily making friends. In light of her prior experiences as a child, Marielle can often come across as too friendly or awkward when it comes to social interactions, but she tries her hardest to seem approachable.
Caring for others. Whether you want it or not, Marielle will care for your well-being to the ends of Eorzea and back! A tender heart and caring soul, Marielle hates to see others suffer when she knows full well that she could do something to help. From stranger, to friend and lover, Marielle cares not for a person's social standing nor their race, she will care about you and tend to your wounds in the same manner she expects for herself. She was taught to be brave and to be kind. Though she knows she can't help everyone and she accepts that.
Dislikes
Small Spaces. Cramped and secluded spaces make Marielle feel increasingly uncomfortable to the point of fear settling in and her heart palpitating in discomfort. She prefers to avoid places that harbour crates, cages or alleyways. The mere sight can make her break out in a cold sweat and she will sooner turn to flee and find a longer, less travelled path if need be.
Cruelty. If you hurt an animal or child, Marielle will more than likely not wish to be seen with or speak to you, and will scold you for your actions. She doesn't like to see anyone be bullied or intimidated, and especially dislikes those who take great pride and pleasure in seeing another suffer. She cannot, for the life of her, understand why or how someone can be so cruel.
Senseless Killing. If a person kills for the fun of it, Marielle will wonder why. If a person isn't fighting to protect a loved one or to defend themselves, then she will most likely not want anything to do with that person. One day Marielle will learn that there is no explanation for evil and that it must be looked upon as a necessary part of the Lifestream's calling.
Poachers. To kill an animal for sport or to mount its head upon your wall is ultimate cruelty in her eyes. While she isn't opposed to one feeding their families, poachers and her experiences with them have definitely rubbed her the wrong way in the past. She supports the Wood Wailers in their deeds to capture and imprison them, however given her kindly nature Marielle has shown mercy and forgiveness for those who turn their lives around.
Betrayal. Marielle doesn't like to be betrayed just as much as the next person. She dislikes the idea of her trust being severed or her kindness being taken for granted. In both friendships and relationships, Marielle has found herself lied to, abandoned and broken in ways her tender heart could not cope with. She would much rather look into the eyes of another and ask them 'why?' as they stab her in the front, rather than wonder why she was deemed so lesser to be stabbed in the back.
Her Body. Like all woman and for obvious reasons, Marielle dislikes her body due to the many unwelcoming glances she receives as well as the pain her back endures from having to support her bust. She doesn't particularly mind that she's short, though she wishes it didn't come with rude or patronizing comments from others. Her scars are often looked upon with disdain when she bathes or looks in the mirror.
Greed. Eorzea provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed. Marielle finds that those who are always seeking more are not truly happy with themselves, however there is a limit to how much one should take. Some people's eyes are bigger than their stomachs, and they have more curiosity than understanding. Marielle finds that quite a few people grasp at everything, but catch nothing except wind.
Selfishness. To Marielle, the belief that unhappiness is selfless and happiness is selfish is misguided. It's more selfless to act happy. It takes energy, generosity, and discipline to be unfailingly light-hearted, yet everyone takes the happy person for granted. No one is careful of feelings or tries to keep spirits high. While Marielle seems self-sufficient; she has become a cushion for others. And because happiness seems unforced, she usually gets no credit.
Fears
Isolation. Marielle has known loneliness, she remembers the time between losing her parents and being raised by her grandparents. She never wants to go through it ever again.
Bereavement. No stranger to death, Marielle has lost many loved ones along the way. She fears the death of others more than the death of herself.
Heartbreak. Marielle has had her heart broken on three occasions. The first, she walked in on mid-coitus. The second, she found he was building a harem. And the third, she thought it was meant to be. Each one has broken her heart and each one has always been with a female Miqo'te. This has left her with low self-esteem and body consciousness.
Captivity. She's afraid of cages and small spaces. End of story.
Life without love. Marielle believes in balance, but the world would surely be a dark place without love in it. The prospect of love and all it effects is something that inspires her. Were she to ever lack the capacity to love, she would surely wish to cease in existence.
Being replaced, or forgotten. Due to prior relationships, romantic or otherwise, Marielle has felt replaced on many occasions. When it comes to death, she fears leaving existence with the thought of people not remembering who she is or what she has done. It pains her even more so if one of her loved ones became an amnesiac and forgot who she was.
Losing her grandparents. They're the only family she has left. They fed her, clothed her and raised her to be the woman she is today. She'd be lost or dead if not for them.
Conflict. War, fighting or killing. Marielle hates violence and conflict, she's afraid of being shouted at and gets increasingly anxious should someone decide to pick a fight with her. While she may try to battle it with peace and patience, she doesn't like having to deal with it unless someone is in danger.

A demure, kind, courteous Elezen woman, it goes without saying that Mariette was an incredible mother who impacted the lives of all who met her. Mariette's kindness and beauty oft attracted suitors, even nobles, in her youth. An empathetic woman, she often remained soft spoken and tender in conversation and intention. She spent most of her life dedicated to caring for those injured in servitude to their nation. She was well learned in the arts of Conjury, which is something Marielle herself has taken up out of inspiration and honour of her mother. Mariette treated all flowers and plants with the same reverence as she did every other living being. As a result, she tended to gardens in her spare time. Much of Marielle's kind hearted tendencies came from the love and teachings bestowed upon her from her mother. Like Marielle's father, Mariette unfortunately met a tragic end.

When reflecting upon her father, the first word to cross Marielle's mind is 'brave'. Briarlon Gardenia, a Hyur and knight of Ishgard, served as a loyal member of the nation he was once proud of. A man fueled by the thought of battle, though not for bloodshed, but for the safety and security of his family and country. He often concerned himself over his daughter when it came to her naivety and love of all creatures great and small, however he is partly responsible considering it was he that taught her to be both fearless and curious. Much of Marielle's will to help others and valour stems from the care and teachings bestowed upon her by her father. Like Marielle's mother, Briarlon unfortunately met a tragic end.

A wise yet strict man, after the death of his beloved daughter, Barhloew alongside his wife took Marielle in and raised her as their own. He looks upon his granddaughter and almost always comments on her likeness to her mother, with each moment he hears of his granddaughter's kindness and hard-work, he is reminded of Mariette and often sheds a prideful tear-- when alone, of course. Well-respected by Marielle, Barhloew often bestows a lecture or two as a means to remind her of the dangers life may throw at her. In his youth, he served his country before retirement. He favoured respect, always urging to find value in the actions of others. He saw the merit to raising steel in defence, as one could not expect all to see with reason and it was he who taught Marielle how to defend herself in case a situation ever called for it. However, as he is aging, Marielle finds herself ever more concerned for his well-being and health...

Unlike her husband, Philomene is a passionate and eccentric woman who often influences Marielle's curiosity and learning a bit more than she should. She looks upon her granddaughter as more of a daughter given her resemblance to her mother. When the Calamity came, they lost much in the aspect of home and business. While Barhloew is too proud to admit it, Philomene often shows her appreciation for Marielle's endless hardwork which allowed them to restore their flower boutique to its former glory. Practiced in the art of Botany, she possesses a green thumb-- a practice she has also encouraged her granddaughter to partake in. Soft spoken and never one to raise her voice, Philomene is a woman much like her late-daughter. When she isn't teaching Marielle the ways of wonder, she dedicates her time running The Evergarden Boutique.

When Marielle and Cyrian met, there was no faerie tale beginnings. She was lost and depressed, and he equally lost, but filled with anger. He saw her as nothing more than an annoyance, a burden he could do without. Be it from her own loneliness, or her need to help others, Marielle persisted and remained with Cyrian with the intent on finding a way to help both him and his inexplicable rage. Suffering from temporary blindness at the time, Marielle proved to give him more problems than aid. Very soon did the woman find herself falling from a cliff with Cyrian, on impulse, diving after her which resulted in her life being saved, her vision's return and nearly every bone in his body broken. It was at her home in the Lavender Beds that she tended to his wounds despite his explosive protests and insistence that he didn't need her, or anyone for that matter. Marielle suffered his verbal abuse, often finding herself spiralling deeper into depression without him knowing. It was until she finally had enough that she fought back against his abuse with a few choice words of her own... And from then on Marielle saw a different, more vulnerable side to Cyrian. Their love began one night with Marielle sat in her living room mourning the loss of her previous relationship, as well as questioning whether her feelings that had grown over time for Cyrian were ones born out of loneliness. It was only until he kissed her suddenly that she began to see the truth through eyes unclouded. At the present time, the two have bonded closer and more intimately, both now fully comfortable with each other. Cyrian, after recent events, seems ever reluctant to let Marielle slip from his grasp nor fade from his sight. She belongs to him, and he devotes himself to her. Only her.

Marielle met Valtir one evening in Ul'dah, little would she know that he'd soon become someone deeply important to her. They exchanged pleasantries and he seemed to warm up to the young woman quite quickly. Her interest was piqued when she learned of his home in the Eastern regions, where she hopes to one day visit, and began to ask him a great deal of questions regarding his homeland. She also learned that he, too, deals in botany in his free time. As each day passed, Marielle would often find him in the same spot and would engage in conversation, addressing her elder with respect and curiosity with each encounter- even going as far as inviting him to attend her graduation as a Conjurer. He attended and briefly met her grandparents; learning of her lack of parents. Since then, he has been somewhat of a father figure to Marielle and she, in turn, has begun to see him as the very same... yet none could replace her biological father. Valtir has been with Marielle during the many trials she's faced in her life, from her past to her relationships, and has always comforted her as a father would their child. There's no doubt about it that Marielle loves and cares for him dearly. On more than one occasion he has admitted that if he were to ever have a daughter... She would surely be like Marielle.

At the time of meeting Luna, Marielle was suffering from blindness - albeit temporarily. The lavender Miqo'te decided to sit beside her and engage in conversation, only later on during their conversation did she discover Marielle's impairment. One might think the Miqo'te curious and slightly awkward during the exchange, but she was no less friendly towards the Hyurlezen. She was ever helpful and kind, taking Marielle by the hand and fretting whenever the sightless woman would stumble or fall. With each encounter, the two would grow closer and Marielle would learn of that in which plagued the young woman's mind. Often offering words of encouragement and praise, Marielle seemed to quell Luna's insecurities and has attempted to be a listening ear for her to confide in. While they haven't known each other long, Marielle enjoys her company and has slowly begun to see her as something of a little sister. She seems to be the only female Miqo'te so far that Marielle hasn't felt threatened by,
