He has dark black hair kept in varying styles, and sharp, bright green eyes. Beyond his eyes, he has notably soft, round features, perhaps even bordering on feminine. Scars & Markings: Three notable scars on his face; one that crosses his right eye, a second that runs horizontally across his nose, and a third on his mouth. Underneath his clothing, he is covered in many more, seemingly all from knife wounds. Voice: Somewhat high pitched and perpetually mocking, though also very posh accent-wise. Clothing: While the style often varies, he seems most fond of dark clothes, though he almost always wears a pair of gloves. Marlemaine is an extremely cruel and sadistic person, though he may seem cheerful and friendly on the outside. He, more often than not, will insult those around him, targeting the shy and unconfident, mocking and ridiculing them in clever ways that may cause them to question whether it was his intention to harm or not. He tends to be very impatient and quick to anger if something happens that is not in his favor. While he is extroverted and outgoing, he is not very fond of small talk, but takes very well to compliments. He is somewhat narcissistic, but can also be quite self conscious when it comes to things he's insecure about, such as his scars or his abandonment issues. He is pompous in nature, though he lacks social etiquette. Likes Fighting. While not exactly skilled in battle, Marlemaine takes great pleasure in arguing the confidence out of people. Luxury. Even though he grew up with it, Marlemaine has never gotten sick of the finer things in life. While his job is greatly because of his natural sadism, he also enjoys the money that comes with it. Really, anything that gives him an excuse to pick on people who are smaller than him. Actually, anyone. He'll insult anyone. Dislikes Marlemaine absolutely despises being proven wrong, and may even become violent as a result. Animals. While they aren't the worst thing in the world, he is nowhere near fond of them. Nobility. Though he comes from it himself, he has a strong feeling of rivalry towards other nobles, and has even been rumored to be responsible for many high-profile deaths. Fears Abandonment. For most of his childhood, he was neglected, and now that he's grown and formed relationships that he has, the one thing he fears the most is losing them. NPC Lamberteint Anstienne ( ♥, ♠, ♠ ) ( NPC ) - Brother Marlemaine's younger brother, and the original heir to the household, as he was not a bastard. However, when he came of age, he went missing during a trip at sea, and was presumed dead. Marlemaine is horribly jealous and hateful towards him, and is suspected to have orchestrated his disappearance and supposed death. However, 12 years later, he reemerged as the captain of a pirate crew, and is currently still serving as such. Ever since he and Marlemaine were reunited, he has tried to repair their relationship, even stressing to his brother that he forgives him, though it hasn't seemed to work very well as of yet. (Lamberteint was originally a PC of mine, but has since been rerolled and is only involved in stories as a background character.) Laurent Anstienne ( ♥, ♠, ✖ ) ( NPC ) - Father Marlemaine's late father. When Marlemaine was still a child, Laurent very rarely acknowledged him, shunning him as a bastard while spoiling his younger brother. After the disappearance of Lamberteint, Laurent fell mysteriously ill, and was forced to proclaim Marlemaine the new head of household, even as there were other family members who could have taken on the role. His reasoning went with him to his grave, but it's rumored that Marlemaine had something to do with his sudden change of heart. Dauphine Anstienne ( ♥, ♠, ✖ ) ( NPC ) - Mother Marlemaine's step mother, and the legitimate mother of Lamberteint. She was just as cold to him as a child, spoiling his brother similarly to his father. Her death was several years after Laurent's, of a mysterious illness not unlike her husband's. If asked, Marlemaine explains it away as old age. ??? ( ♥, ● ) ( NPC ) - Biological mother The woman who gave birth to Marlemaine. She was supposedly a young woman who lived in the Brume, who conceived Marlemaine after a one night stand with Laurent. After his birth, she left him on his father's doorstep, claiming him to be his son and that she believed he would have a better life with a parent who could properly care for him. She never returned after that day, nor did she give the Anstiennes her name. Marlemaine holds no particular ill-will towards her, rather looking back on her memory fondly as she seemed to be someone who truly cared for him. PC Aodhan Suibne ( ♥ ) ( PC ) - Lover/boyfriend Marlemaine's lover. He is extremely protective and possessive of him, and becomes horribly jealous when he deems someone a threat to their relationship. They occasionally work as business partners.
