A man whose skill has been noted to be blessed by the twelve, Meta has fought in numerous battles over the years for the people of Eorzea. While he has no actual position with any of the Grand Companies, he has none the less taken part in a number of operations formed and executed by them, of which he has always been found in the vanguard. Currently a mercenary in the lands of Eorzea, Meta has continued to find jobs that either pay well, or perhaps provide a challenge for his might.

The Battle of Carteneu: While not hailing from Eorzea, Meta was one of many who rose up to fight against the escalating aggression brought by the Garleans five years ago. While he had no affiliation with the Grand Companies, he was still recruited for the battle of Carteneu. He requested to be placed in the vanguard unit, and as such, was part of the first wave of men and woman to surge against the wave of Garlean troops. Part of the left most infantry unit, his unit's task was to push in against apposing forces and perform a hammer and anvil maneuver with the main infantry unit in the center. Their unit was greatly impeded by an unexpected heavy use of Magitek armor in the initial Garlean force. Meta, against innumerable odds, met his enemies head on, striking down man after man. This act partially rallied the troops and allowed them to hold the line until the main forces could arrive. From there Meta continued to fight intense ferocity until a full retreat was issued throughout the Grand Company ranks.

Historical Note: While the accounts are often exaggerated or romanticized in war, it is well enough to note that a number of the soldiers who fought with Meta were recorded stating that for every man that fell to them, ten fell to Meta's blade. While the number may not be exact, it is clear that the survivors praised Meta's skill highly, to an almost exorbitant amount.

The Five Years: After the Battle of Carteneu, Meta simply vanished for a period of time. It was not until three years later that he resurfaced in the land of Eorzea, spear in hand, and wearing the armor of a Dragoon. For the next two years Meta simply took on any odd job that paid well. There were a few times he took a job without pay, under the reason of the fight being a possible worthy challenge. It is during the end of these two years that he met the adventurer Lillith Cale, with whom he had formed a lasting friendship with to current times.

Assault on the Praetorium: When the Garleans returned, Meta once again appeared to make a stand with the Grand Companies. Again, he requested to be placed in the Vanguard where fighting would be the most intense. Being the spearhead for the main forces, the Vanguard was to cut open a path and lay the foundation for the main forces. Meta did just that, scoring numerous kills and taking the heads of a few officers of the Garlean Forces. Once again Meta's might and skill rallied the troops he fought with, giving way to a glorious success to the vanguards objective. From there, Meta would continue to fight time and time again in the campaign against the Garleans, throwing himself into the frontlines, until the call came in that victory had been achieved by the Eorzean Alliance.

After the Assault: With the allied campaign dissolved, Meta returned back to Mercenary work, avoiding and refusing any form of recruitment into the Grand Companies of Eorzea. During this time he has taken on odd jobs, many of which often involve fighting men and beasts alike.

A warrior at heart, Meta has been described by some to be loyal and honest man, but with a sharp tongue and stubborn disposition. He is quick to immediately take a rather business like approach to most any conversation, and can often be fickle on smaller matters in life. Meta has also been known to praise his allies abilities a bit beyond their actual worth, often holding them to standards they cannot actually perform at. Still, he puts faith in those he considers allies, and certainly holds them in high regards. His demands of an individual may be high, but he will stand strong with them.

Combat

There is little description on Meta's combat skill before appearing a few years ago as a Dragoon. That said, what is known is his incredible might and skill are peerless. His combat form mixes the power and length of the spear, with the mobility and force of a Dragoon. It has been best described as a form that forever places pressure and force upon his targets, striking and wounding before moving out of range to start all over again.

Blood on the Sands (part 2): Hearing of an assault against Ul'dah by Void sent, Meta quickly placed himself in the frontlines with newly acquainted ally, Rauffe Bell. During the initial wave of zombies, Meta was quick to dispatch body after body, aiding in holding the defensive formation. During the battle, the right rear line had been breached and pushed back. Faith in his ally, Meta broke from frontlines and rushed through zombie hordes to save the right rear line from collapsing by a rather powerful and crazed Void sent force. Upon arriving he saved a mage by the name of Xao Ganajai, and helped push back the zombie force, Clearing a path for Xao to advance upon the leader who was summoning the Void sent. Sweeping up the remaining zombies, Meta rejoined the frontlines until the Leader of the zombies was pushed back, and victory was achieved. For Meta's heroics, and the number of zombies slain at his spear, he was awarded the title Zombie Slayer and gil.

Friends ● Lillith Cale – An adventurer Meta met while on a job. After the task was complete, the two talked over drinks and quickly found each others running jobs and tasks together. Since then the two have become very close and good friends. ● Rauffe Bell – An ally whom Meta fought with during the defense of Ul'dah (Blood on the Sands). They spoke at the Quicksand in Ul'dah, talking about various things, some personal, before parting ways. ● Myuki Katsurugi – A young adventurer which Meta has on numerous occasions spoken to, and even tested their skills by letting Myuki accompany him on a job. He considers her skills well trained and honed, believing all she needs now is more experience.
