General Information
Naturaux Fouquet, or Natural Harmonia, as he is better known, is a Duskwight Elezen hailing from the Twelveswood.
He is one of the gifted chosen by Hydalen to receive the Echo, and one of Eorzea’s Warriors of Light.

Hair & Eyes
His hair is a pale silver in color and usually kept quite long; being at his mid-back or almost to his rear depending on whenever he can remember to take care of it. Depending on how he chooses to style his hair, the bangs are usually parted at the center, or kept short just above his eyebrows (though sometimes it’ll grow down to the bridge of his nose when he neglects to trim). His hair is soft and silky to the touch, but tangles quite easily due to the sheer length of it. For both this reason and to keep it out of the way in combat, Natural tends to tie it up in some sort of ponytail- usually braided. However, he does prefer to keep it down when he’s relaxing.

Natural’s eyes are almond-shaped and colored very pale pink. In dim settings, they can give off the illusion of glowing. Unlike most people, Natural’s eyes seem to shine little to no light. With this in combination of him looking tired most of the time, many described his eyes as looking “dead” or “distant”. Natural’s eyes are surrounded by rather lengthy, white lashes that further soften his appearance.
Physique & Markings
Natural’s build is tall and slim. Like most Elezen, he is exceptionally tall with long limbs, but his body is on the malnourished side. Most of his weight comes from the muscle that built around his legs and abdominal area, but he possesses little to no upper body strength, and his body shows.

As for markings, he has no natural markings to speak of, but he does possess many scars. There are several cuts littered about his hands, wrists, forearms, feet, legs, shoulders, and throat. The most prominent of his scars are three slashes going across his back, one going across his left cheek, and a long slash across his chest.
Hygiene & Attire
Natural’s personal hygiene tends to fluctuate depending on both his mood and company. Because of a combination of his upbringing in the wild and the fact he’s prone to depressive episodes, he can go days (and in some extremes, weeks) without properly bathing. However, he does get embarrassed when he looks and smells bad, so he can motivate himself to bathe if he knows he’ll be in the company of others.

Natural’s wardrobe mainly consists of black or dark purple clothing (save for a few white pieces he wears while healing). He prefers robes and dress-like clothing as they are the comfiest and easiest to wear. Since personal nudity doesn’t bother him, some of his articles of clothing can be on the more revealing side. Natural prefers to wear shoes with high heels because of the strange way he walked as he grew up that involved his feet to be constantly arched. Even barefoot, he tends to walk mainly on his toes as walking flatfoot for long periods of time can hurt him after a while. Natural hates clothing that’s too restricting and especially hates clunky armor, but he will wear it on the rare occasion of tanking (again, usually black and with some sort of capes or cloth attached).
Personality
Psychological Profile
Natural is, by default, a very kind person. He is one that tends to put others before himself, even if it means sacrificing parts of himself in the process. However, he is still a true neutral at heart and will do things for his own personal gain regardless of whether or not it’s morally “right”, or he’ll do what he believes is right and go about it the wrong way (for instance, using bribery or threatening one’s life if it means saving someone else… or himself).

Though Natural has enough intelligence to be deemed a genius (mainly in fields of mathematics and spellweaving), he has trouble understanding his own heart most of the time. He is typically void of any emotion, and most of the emotion he does display tends to be faked in order to better blend into a crowd. It takes exceptionally favorable company and surroundings for Natural to legitimately smile.

Because he didn’t grow up around people, Natural can be very shy and even anxious in worse cases when he’s around others. In group settings, he’s very quiet and tends to only speak when spoken to first.

Natural is also prone to episodes of depression that leave him tired, unmotivated, and struggling to keep up a happy façade. During these times, he tends to isolate himself from his companions when he can help it and turns to drinking, smoking moko grass, and sometimes sexual activity in order to cope.
Voice
Natural has a quiet voice, thick accent, and tendency to speak quickly. For these reasons, many have a hard time understanding him which adds to his quiet nature. Currently, his closest voiceclaim is 2D (especially as far as his accent goes) though a bit gentler and more feminine in tone.
Philosophy & Mannerisms
Natural’s personal philosophy is finding usefulness in the world. Growing up, he often felt like he was simply existing with no purpose and often times felt as if he were a burden on those who took the time to care for him. On his journey, he found that providing aid to others helps him feel alive and wanted. Even though being a Warrior of Light proves to be a great burden to him at times, he can still wake up every day knowing that he can help make the world a little bit better; and that’s what keeps him going.

Because of the many years he spent living among wildlife (especially wolves) Natural adopted some canine behaviors including biting himself when he's itchy, sniffing unfamiliar objects, getting on all fours to stretch his body, sitting on all fours on the ground, and licking wounds. He's also extremely comfortable with nudity so in the comfort of his own home and inn rooms, he'll wander around and sleep naked. Luckily, he's outgrown most of these mannerisms around people, but will still revert back to his biting and sniffing problems without realizing.

Non-Combat Abilities
Singing: He possesses a capable singing voice despite his quiet nature. Though he’d love to be able to put this ability to good use as the Bards do, his poor eyesight hinders his ability to properly wield a bow.
Acting: Though he’s not quite at the level of an actor in a play, he learned to fake a completely different persona rather well during his time with the Redbelly Wasps.
Mathematician: Natural’s greatest strength is his mathematical abilities. His gift in this field greatly contributed to his abilities as an Arcanist and Summoner.
Combat Abilities
Ruin: A non-elemental spell that serves as an attack filler. The power behind these spells are weaved from Natural’s aether and geometrical equations.
Miasma & Bio: A deadly combination of disease and toxins that slowly saps the strength of his enemies. The toxins cause great pain from within while the disease can vary between causing minor hiccups to full-blown nausea and vomiting. The effects of both can linger long after battle without proper medication or healing- especially when he uses the fester spell to worsen the victim’s condition.
Summoning: Natural learned to summon when he was an Arcanist. His first combat pets were Emerald and Topaz Carbuncles. Over time, he learned to wield the aether of primals and summon smaller “egi” forms that had no will of their own. After doing some of his own studying, he learned to summon his former Carbuncles in combination with the powers of the primal egis. Thanks to his Echo, he can communicate with his summons far more effectively than the average Arcanist and has a greater control over them. Once Natural’s strength reaches its peak, he can also temporarily summon a demi Bahamut. Unlike the Carbuncles, Natural can neither communicate with nor control the dragon as freely.
Dreadwyrm Trance: After attuning himself to Bahamut’s aether, Natural acquired the ability to tap into this aether and temporarily boost his strength, finishing the surge of power with Deathflare; a spell very much like Bahamut’s Akh Morn. In this trance, Natural tends to lose himself a little bit and mindlessly attack his opponent until he’s able to unleash the last of the energy with the Deathflare.
Darkness: On the rare occasion that he decides to be a Dark Knight, Natural can control darkness itself in combination with brutal attacks via a greatsword.
Healing & Elemental spells: When Natural prefers to take a more supportive role, he utilizes the power of White Mage to heal his allies. As a White Mage, his healing capabilities increase greatly and he can use the power of earth and wind to form offensive magicks.
OOC Note
Battle RPs aren’t really my favorite to play, but should an instance arrive where some fighting will take place, I prefer the /random roll where the higher number lands a hit. I’d also like to agree to a specific number of turns (for example, best 2 out of 3) so the fight doesn’t drag on too terribly long.

History
This section will eventually contain spoilers.
Disclaimer: This section is currently a work in progress. Detailed accounts of ARR through Stormblood will come later, but Natural’s story follows the canon story from the WoL’s point of view pretty closely.
Sixth Astral Era
Childhood
It started in the depths of the Twelveswood. Two Duskwight Elezen, young and happily married, are expecting their first born.

“Naturelle if she is a girl. Naturaux if he is a boy. I want our child to have a unique name. One that means 'natural'. The greens will not accept us purely because of what we are... but I want our child's name to show them that he or she is just that. Natural.”

Despite his namesake, the baby boy was anything but natural. Opposite of the grayed complexion of his parents, the babe resembled a porcelain doll with hair white as snow and skin nearly pale enough to match.

Naturaux, who would be affectionately referred to as “Natural” by his mother, lived with his family for about five springs. Though these years were relatively peaceful, they did have their share of hardships. The young Duskwight witnessed first-hand the oppression his people received from their Wildwood cousins whenever they entered civilized settlements- especially Gridania. Much of their living was done within the Twelveswood’s caves and forests, so the family often encountered danger in the form of beasts, treacherous weather, and bandits.

Hardships aside, Natural adored living in nature- the settlements seemed too crowded and hostile for his tastes. Over time, he’d become drawn to the forest’s wildlife and attempted to befriend whatever friendly creature he could. Though it was a bit strange to his parents, they didn’t think too much about the child’s fascination.

Natural’s sixth spring was supposed to be a happy one. His mother had announced he was to expect a little brother or sister in the coming moons. The days were filled with much joy and excitement, until one afternoon when something extraordinary happened- Natural’s vision was suddenly filled with thousands of stars. Strangely, his parents hadn’t seen what he had, and merely thought the boy was going too long without food or water. Though he wouldn’t know this until adulthood, that was the day Natural’s Echo awoke.

Soon after having the vision, Natural discovered something amazing when he next encountered a woodland creature; he could understand the animal’s tongue! At first, Natural thought the animal was very special in that it could speak like an Elezen could, but his parents couldn’t hear anything and scolded him for speaking nonsense. They would later come to realize that the child was not lying, and he began spending more time with whatever wildlife he could find and speak to. No matter how much his mother and father scolded him and assumed him insane for understanding non-spoken, Natural went against their wishes and continued to communicate with them. The family already received judgement and strange looks from peers and strangers for having a child that scarcely resembled them, but it was only made worse with Natural speaking to animals. Deeming their son an abomination, the parents decided to abandon young Natural one night in the forest while he slept.

When Natural awoke the next morning, he flew into a fit of panic. As he ran around in circles, calling for his mom and dad, he grabbed the attention of a nearby owl who had been in the area that night. The avian told the boy to go find another home, for he had witnessed his parents willingly leaving without their child in the dead of night. What’s more, they left a trail of meat behind; perhaps for a hungry predator to be led to him. Natural refused to believe such a thing and began following the very trail his family left behind until he almost literally bumped into a wolf following the same trail.

Natural questioned the beast, explaining in the process that he woke to missing parents and the trail of meat was his only clue to their whereabouts. The canine assumed this was the same pair of Elezen who caught the attention of their scouts after they tossed the same meat towards their den in the middle of the night. Apparently, the wolf was following the trail alone to see if it led to a trap or a feast. He realized then that the “feast” at the end was the boy. The child didn’t want to believe it was so, but it made sense that a family who would disown their own son would go to such measures to see he can never be found again.

Unbeknownst to the wolf, several members of his pack, including the alpha, had followed a distance away to ensure his safety. After a brief exchange regarding the strange child, the alpha decided to take the boy in as a member of their pack; partially to give the boy a home, and also to aid his grieving mate who had recently lost their pups to Ixal. In time, he was no longer a child of the Elezen, but a child of the wood instead. Various creatures kept him fed, warm, and sheltered for the next eight summers. One creature among them was a lonely Mandragora that Natural had named “Leafy” who was also abandoned by his family due to his curiosity of Spoken.

The boy spent most of his childhood in that forest. The creatures steered him away from towns and other Elezen if he wandered too close. Thanks to them, he learned to fend for himself; eventually keeping his nails long and sharp like claws and sharpening his adult teeth as they grew in. However, without guidance from anyone like him, such an upbringing made him a wild child- he could not speak the tongue of the Spoken very well, he stopped walking on two legs, shed his clothing once it became damaged and too small to fit, and he knew nothing of etiquette or morals.

It was one fateful day into his 14th summer that the young Elezen found something he hadn’t seen in years- someone like him. Another Duskwight, an older man, wandered around a clearing deep in the boy's home. As for Natural, he knew the creatures feared men like him, so he kept a distance in the bushes. From his robes, the man withdrew an old grimoire. With quill in hand, he began to write. Lights of different shapes and colors surrounded the strange man, swirling about more gracefully than fireflies. Then from the very air itself, an odd animal suddenly appeared! It was unlike anything the boy had seen before; a glowing, blue, four-legged animal with long ears and a tail that split into three ends stood before the man. Throwing his previous caution to the wind, the young Elezen dashed for the glowing creature, despite protests from Leafy.

Ignoring the stranger’s line of questions, the young man crouched before the animal to pet and converse with it. Much to its owner's disdain, the animal nuzzled up to the boy while ignoring all commands to scare him off. Then just as it appeared, the animal was gone again in a dazzling light. The boy knelt upright, looking all around him. Where did it go?

The strange man continued to question Natural, but he simply ignored him. Obviously, the child was unfamiliar with his own tongue after not speaking it for so long and the man realized this soon enough. Concluding that he must have been abandoned or lost from an even younger age, he decided to leave. Something about that man imprinted on the child that day. Was it because he was a man just like him? He did not know- he simply followed until they reached a Duskwight settlement deep within a complex system of caves.

The man, known by the alias “Harmonia”, was immediately bombarded with questions from his peers; questions he couldn't begin to answer. As much as he wanted to pass the child off to someone else, the boy clung to the now-familiar man when the others surrounded him. There was much discussion happening around him, but there was so much being said that he couldn't understand them. However, there was a hush among the crowd when the boy was finally asked his name. Natural struggled to remember; he couldn’t remember his real name at all, but he tried. Because communicating with beasts doesn’t require Natural to use his physical voice, he could only stammer out what sounded like “Natural”. Since the boy clearly hadn’t been cared for by his own kind in who-knows-how-long, the Duskwight group took he and Leafy in.

Though he was quiet for several days, he did slowly warm up to his new “family”. Some of the members took a quick liking to him, while others were put off by his ghastly pale appearance, unblinking eyes, and strange behavior. Those who did like him gladly told Natural of their group. They were known as the Redbelly Wasps; a gang of thieves and mercenaries who were trying to make a name for themselves in the Shroud. Despite being taken in by such a questionable group, Natural didn’t seem to oppose what they do, and the higher-ups informed him that once he seems fully competent that they’ll find some use for him within their numbers.

Harmonia, on the other hand, started thinking of a grander scheme for their newest member. Since it did not take long for Natural to become re-accustomed to civilized life, he believed the child must have some inkling of intelligence. What’s more, he seemed to be able to communicate with his Carbuncle- a skill that might come in handy someday. He taught Natural to read and write; something the young man caught on to quicker than Harmonia had anticipated, and even began to teach him the basics of an Arcanist. In almost no time, Natural became perfectly literate. As for his communication with the wild, he decided to keep that to himself (and of course, to Harmonia; who had already seen this gift in person) as not to repeat history.

During that year, Harmonia taught Natural much about mathematics, literature, history, and a fairly new phenomenon; primals. Apparently, Beast Tribes throughout Eorzea were beginning to summon the godlike creatures to do their bidding. Harmonia, having studied a bit in Allagan summoning, wanted to see if Natural was capable of talking to and befriending a primal. Though he presented his ideals in a way that would make Natural a hero for saving the primals from the cruel grasp of the Beast Men who wanted to use their power for slavery and destruction, he actually intended to use the primals for his own benefit and power. Until the moment could present itself to test that theory, Natural did random jobs for the Redbellies that mainly involved posing as a lost child (a girl, most of the time) to acquire gil from generous passers-by.

Eventually, Harmonia’s chance to test his theory finally came; a group of Ixal had summoned the primal Garuda. While the Wasps took cover in the storm, Harmonia and Natural headed straight for the eye to confront the Lady of the Vortex.

Unfortunately, Harmonia’s plan was doomed to fail. Once confronted, Garuda simply laughed off the boy’s attempts at friendship. The primal was far more intelligent than Harmonia had anticipated. Without hesitation, she attacked the duo- leaving Natural with rather serious gashes on his body. As for Harmonia, he did not last long before the primal tempered him. The man whom Natural saw as a father began to attack him while singing praises of Garuda and deeming the boy a “failure” and a “freak” who belonged in the wild. Thankfully, Leafy got a good attack on the older Elezen and successfully disarmed him. Natural scooped up the dropped grimoire and ran as fast as he could. It is unknown what happened to Harmonia and Garuda after that, but peace was eventually mysteriously restored to the woods.

When Natural got somewhere safe, he absently thumbed through Harmonia’s grimoire as he pondered the man’s fate. One page ended up catching his eye as it contained several hand-written notes detailing the use of Natural’s gift for his own gain. Betrayal mixed with the young man’s grief. For the first time in years, Natural felt utterly heartbroken.

After the second betrayal of his own kind, Natural felt uneasy at the thought of returning to the Redbellies. Instead, he went back to the forest with Leafy to fend for himself. Even though he fully intended to mend his criminal ways, Natural still pickpocketed from easy targets from time to time. One man in particular became a nightly target due to his habit of going to sleep fairly early in the evening. Unfortunately, the man caught on to his things being missing and feigned sleep one night, catching Natural when his guard was down.

The man had the young Elezen on the ground, lashing at him with a knife. The boy was no stranger to people trying to harm him when he was caught stealing, but this man seemed intent on killing him. Luckily, the boy struggled enough so he wouldn’t suffer a vital wound to his throat, but the incident did leave him with numerous scars on his chest and hands. The next thing Natural remembered was losing consciousness and suddenly waking up with the man dead at his feet. Unbeknownst to him at the time, this moment was the awakening of his Dark Side. Natural was thrown into a state of panic- he didn’t know whether he should hide the body, make the wounds look like a creature attack, or simply run. Voices began to echo from the brush, prompting Natural to run and hide. It turns out the man was a husband and father to a girl appearing several years younger than himself. Devastated at not only killing a man, but also tearing a family apart, he fled.

That was the day he left the South Shroud. Natural ran and ran until he reached the very edge of the Twelveswood. A new land seemed to wait on the other side, but he was still too afraid to leave his forest home. A small cave ended up sheltering him, and a nearby town offered him trading and job opportunities. The idea of going into such a society intimidated him after all the prejudice his family went through in his youth, but the residents didn’t bother him much (perhaps due to his light complexion that could easily be mistaken for a Wildwood’s). He would spend the next six years doing small odd jobs in the town, reading the archives in the library, and sleeping in his cave at night.

Seventh Umbral Era
Adulthood
The only eventful moment in that six years happened around age 16- the Calamity. Though he was ignorant as to what exactly was going on, he remembered seeing the red moon descend slowly as the nights went on and eventually come crashing down. Thankfully, he seemed to be far enough away from the point of impact that he wasn’t put immediately in harm’s way. However, over time the creatures of the Twelveswood grew to be extremely feral, and living out in the wilderness became increasingly difficult. About three years after the calamity, he ended up sleeping on the streets of the town since it was safer.

At age 21, the Elezen’s life would finally turn around for the better. While reading through the town’s archives, he learned of an interesting place in a faraway land- Sharlayan. Apparently, the country was full of scholars and contained a prestigious school. He remembered long ago when Harmonia told him he was gifted with great intelligence- why not extend this knowledge further and put his mind to good use? His mind was made up. Natural worked hard around the town and saved all the gil he could for a ship that would take him to Sharlayan.

Over time, he made enough gil and made the long journey to a town with a ship that would take him where he needed to go. However, fate had other plans for the Elezen and his Mandragora companion. While he did indeed end up on the correct ship, the excitement and hard work that took him that far had finally gotten the best of him and he fell into a deep slumber.

Space… a familiar voice… a shadowy, masked figure… a ball of light… He seemed to be fighting the masked figure with a grimoire in his hand- except he was no Arcanist, but a Summoner instead. The two clashed, but the victor is unknown.

[Hear… Feel... Think...]

One of the sailors had woken him up eventually, and he found himself in a room with just the sailor and two young Elezen twins. A brief discussion with the sailor revealed that the ship was now bound for Limsa Lominsa. While the man spoke to him, Natural scoured his mind, trying to think of a way to get to his desired destination. Perhaps he could try to earn his money back Limsa and do this again? The man assumed he was some sort of “adventurer”- maybe he could give that career a go.

When the ship reached her destination, Natural was greeted with a most beautiful sight. It was the largest city he’d ever seen- surrounded endlessly by gorgeous blue water. Everything was so foreign to him- the sights, the people, the salty aroma… it was horrifying and exciting all at the same time. As per the sailor’s suggestion, Natural visited the adventurer’s guild. Apparently, this city also had a teacher that could train him as an Arcanist- just like Harmonia before him. The more he thought about it, the more he wondered if Sharlayan is truly worth the effort.

There was a strong feeling that persisted in his mind that he was exactly where he needed to be. Maybe travelling to a new land, learning the art that Harmonia sought to teach him long ago, and helping those in need was exactly what he needed to start his life over.

Raimondaux Fouquet- Natural’s father. Even when he was a child, he never spent much time with his father since he was often out hunting. During Natural’s sixth year, his parents abandoned him overnight. He never saw them again and can’t find it in his heart to forgive them.

Cevilia Fouquet- Natural’s mother. His earliest years were mainly spent with her and the two maintained a very loving relationship. During Natural’s sixth year, his parents abandoned him overnight. He never saw them again and can’t find it in his heart to forgive them.

Barnabaix Fouquet- Natural’s younger brother. He was born after Natural’s abandonment, so they never got to meet. Though Natural is unsure of his younger sibling’s gender, he does assume he is an elder brother and doesn’t intend to hold any ill feelings towards someone he hasn’t met yet and had nothing to do with his abandonment.

Wolf Pack- Natural’s first adopted family. The pack found him the morning his family left him behind and decided to take him in. To this day, he still considers them his greatest family and sometimes wonder where he’d be if he had decided not to leave them. Between the Calamity and the number of years it’s been since he’s been with the pack, he assumes that none of the wolves he knew from his youth are still alive.

Leafy- A Mandragora that Natural met when he was still a child. The seedkin always held a fascination towards the Spoken races, and much like Natural, his family ended up shunning him; fearing for their own safety. His real name is △△OXO, but because the sound necessary for pronunciation is impossible to do, Natural calls him “Leafy” (while Leafy calls Natural “N”).

Harmonia- An older Duskwight Elezen Natural found during his adolescence. He followed the man home to a campsite in the South Shroud and ended up under his care. Though he looked up to man as an adopted father, he learned after a run-in with the primal Garuda that the man was using him to further his own power. Even though he still feels the sting of the man’s betrayal, Natural will forever be grateful that Harmonia taught him how to be “human” and even took the man’s alias as his surname.

Kurama- A fox kit that Natural found alone during his time in Yanxia. The fox’s family was killed and captured by a group of hunters and he was the only one who remained. When Natural found him and offered a sanctuary, Kurama decided to go with him and now looks up to Natural as a father.

Acquaintances

Zenos yae Galvus- During his journey to liberate Doma and Ala Mhigo, Natural found himself drawn to Garlemald's crown prince. At first, it was merely physical attraction with an unquenchable curiosity the first time he saw the lightless look in the man’s eyes that reflected his own. However, it was before and after their final confrontation that he realized the two did share a lot in common. Natural saw a lot of himself in what could only be described as the Garlean’s depressed state and wished to extend a hand of friendship to him, but Zenos would end up taking his own life instead. Now, despite witnessing the end of the man’s life and hearing confirmation that an Ascian may be the reason for his missing corpse, Natural can’t shake the feeling that the two just might meet again. [last updated in patch 4.3. Zenos is considered Nate’s canon love]

Sidurgu Orl- While training as a Dark Knight, Natural met the Xaela shortly after the confrontation with his dark side. Together, the duo helped save a young Elezen girl named Rielle from her mother's attempts to see her own daughter's demise. The journey to learn Rielle's past drew Natural close to Sidurgu, but the Xaela never fully reciprocated. They currently hold a purely intimate, non-romantic relationship (though majority of the time it’s under Fray’s control).

Alphinaud & Alisaie Leveilleur- Members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and grandchildren of Louisoix Leveilleur, Natural first met the twin Elezen during the Grand Company reflections on the battle of Carteneau. After that, Natural went on several missions with Alphinaud through the realm and even well into Ishgard and Dravania. As for Alisaie, while she was absent through most of his adventures with Alphinaud, he did help her stop Bahamut's return in the Binding Coils. However, she is now a regular among the Scions just like her brother and accompanied Natural and his friends through the Far East and the Ala Mhigan territories. Over time, Natural grew very fond of the twins and now sees them as younger siblings.

Fray- A young man who was killed courtesy of the Ishgardian Justice System sometime before Natural’s arrival in Ishgard. Upon touching the man’s soul crystal, Natural’s darkside bound with Fray’s lingering conscience. Since becoming one with Natural’s mind, Fray could read the Elezen’s innermost thoughts and desires and almost convinced him to cast aside his duties in favor of a life of freedom and adventure, but eventually decided against this after seeing the joy Natural feels when he helps others. Now, Fray exists as a means to increase Natural’s strength and sometimes chimes in as a confidant when he’s feeling low. In exchange, Natural sometimes allows Fray to take the reigns to fight or to speak with old friends again.

Y’shtola Rhul- She was one of the first prominent individuals he met at the start of his journey in La Noscea. After several run-ins with Y’shtola, she eventually invited him to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Because she was the first among the Scions that Natural met, he feels more of a bond with her than most of the others.

Scions of the Seventh Dawn- Throughout his adventure, Natural had his ups and downs with the Scions. As much as he supports their goals for the realm, there was a point where he came to loathe them for essentially using him as a weapon time and time again. Currently, he does feel like he’s back in a good place with them again ever since their reform after the Dragonsong War ended.

The Fortemps Family- Haurchefant's family consisting of his father, former Count Edmont de Fortemps, Artoirel, and Emmanellain de Fortemps; elder and younger brother respectively. Edmont gladly took in the Scions and Warriors of Light after the incident in Ul'dah and the rest of the family continued to support the groups even after Haurchefant's death. Even Artoirel, who was questionable about the Warriors of Light at the start, considers them brothers and sisters to the Fortemps family.

Bahamut- One of Midgardsormr's first brood, the dragon perished during the Third Astral Era while defending Meracydia from the Allagan Emperor Xande. Natural became very empathetic to the primal Bahamut when he first heard of the Dreadwyrm's fate. A powerful being held captive to use as a weapon for another's gain is a situation he felt close to home with when his duties as Warrior of Light started to become too much to bear. As he trained his Summoner abilities, he was eventually led to Carteneau Flats where he meditated on the lingering influence of Bahamut's fury, thus, granting him new powers. Unbeknownst to the Elezen, this has started a symbiotic relationship with Bahamut's essence. Natural can use this essence to strengthen his powers, and a bit of Bahamut can yet live on in Natural. With further training, he gained the ability to summon a "demi" version of Bahamut. Though Natural felt his standing with Bahamut was positive, a short conversation with the demi dreadwyrm revealed that Bahamut means to temper him should he ever lose Hydalen's light.

Elidibus- A white-robed Ascian shrouded in mystery. Every Ascian thus far has been an enemy to the Scions and Warriors of Light, but Elidibus is strangely peaceful and diplomatic. He's not entirely to be trusted, but also not yet worth aggression.

The Garlean Empire- Eorzea's neighbor and constant threat to her peace. For the last fifteen years, they sought to annex Eorzea by whatever means necessary. Though the Warriors of Light have toppled some of their highest-ranking members time and time again, the Empire continues to counterattack with new foes to this day. Natural especially loathes the Empire due to the fear of them destroying his forest home in favor of their technology.

The Ascians- Chaotic entities constantly trying to strengthen the dark. Lahabrea seemed to be their main ringleader, but he's so far been dealt with courtesy of Archbishop Thordan. However, his end may not entirely mean the end of the Ascian threat altogether.

Sabotender Bailarina- The muse chooses not to disclose this information. Just know that she's a very bad cactus.

Former Acquaintances

Redbelly Wasps- The gang of Duskwight bandits that has led to much conflict throughout the South Shroud along with the Coerlclaws. One among them, a man who called himself Harmonia, was found by Natural when he was young. Natural followed the man to his home among the gang and stayed with them for a couple years. After Harmonia’s betrayal, Natural left the Wasps to live alone for several years. Now, he has seen that the bandits have grown exponentially since his leaving and can’t help but feel proud of them. Though a part of him yearns to reconnect with the people who helped him become human, he fears tainting his good standing with Gridania and the Adders by having a positive relationship with them.

Warriors of Light- A trio of adventurers Natural met early on in his adventure that eventually found their destinies as Warriors of Light after Gaius’s fall. The group decided to stick together throughout the Dragonsong War and the liberation of Ala Mhigo and Doma and even formed a Free Company together. However, Natural recently decided to part ways with the group and return to a solo journey.

Deceased

Haurchefant Greystone- An Ishgardian of House Fortemps. Natural met the man when his journey brought him to the Coerthas Central Highlands. Haurchefant played a key role in helping him, Alphinaud, and Cid find the lost Enterprise. Ever since, Haurchefant helped time and time again until his untimely death defending Natural and the Warriors of Light in the Vault. It wasn't until Haurchefant's death that Natural realized he had strong feelings for the Ishgardian and he still carries the regret of not realizing sooner, believing that reciprocating Haurchefant's feelings would have caused him to act less recklessly.

Ysayle Dangoulain- Formerly an enemy of the Warriors of Light and Ishgard, Ysayle (also known as Lady Iceheart) led the heretics that sought to bring the “truth” of the Dragonsong War to Ishgard. She accompanied the Warriors of Light, Alphinaud and Estinien on a journey through Dravania and provided much aid and information. Natural came to admire the woman’s strength and passion and ended up seeing her as a dear friend. However, her life was cut short in Azys Lla when she arrived to aid the group in her Shiva form. She was unfortunately shot down by the Empire.

Yotsuyu- The former standing viceroy of Doma. Though she was cruel and ruthless, Natural felt she was deserving of her feelings and actions after witnessing the sort of life she had. He was actually relieved to learn she had gotten amnesia, feeling that perhaps this was her shot at a second chance of life without the burdens and pain of her past. However, that wouldn’t come to pass, as her stepbrother interfered and brought about her transformation into a primal. In the end, she didn’t make it, but not before seeking vengeance on her cruel brother.

Asahi sas Brutus- Ambassador for the Garlean Empire and Yotsuyu’s stepbrother. Though Asahi initially came to Doma as an agent of peace, Natural couldn’t find it in him to trust him. This ended up being for the best, as just before Asahi’s departure, he showed his true colors to the Warriors of Light, expressing his desire for vengeance of Zenos’s death. Natural came to loathe him immediately as he was already in a state of guilt over Zenos’s suicide and could see the “love” Asahi felt for Zenos was purely shallow. His next encounter with Asahi would only kindle his hatreds as he brought about the primal transformation and eventual death of Yotsuyu, but was grateful the latter could see her to vengeance before passing.

Location & Probability
Places where the character is very likely to be seen
Mist: Most often. He co-leads a Free Company that resides here
Lavender Beds: Another common place for him. He owns a private home here and retreats to it whenever he feels the need to be secluded.
The Forgotten Knight: Fairly often. He’s close friends with Sidurgu and Rielle and visits them quite often when he’s not busy. Tends to come around here in the evening.
Fortemps Manor: Uncommon. He tries to make a point to visit the Fortemps family once or twice a moon.
The Jeweled Crozier: Somewhat common. It’s his favorite area to shop.
Providence Point: Rarely. He comes here to visit the waymark of his dear friend, Haurchefant. He visits once a year and sometimes before setting off on a dangerous mission.
The Black Shroud: Fairly often. He feels most at home in the forest and will sometimes retreat there to feel like himself again. This is the only place he’ll visit while the sun is out.
Dimwold: Sometimes. He’s in love with the area’s aesthetic and peace and will venture out there to clear his mind and be alone.
Gridania: Sometimes. As a Twin Adder, he’ll report to the Adder’s nest sometimes to man his squadron or turn in old gear. Sometimes he’ll shop here as well.
Plum Spring: Rarely. He’ll retreat to this spot in Yanxia for maximum seclusion and peace. The beautiful atmosphere soothes him, and unlike the Shroud and Dimwold, there aren’t many beasts whose voices he can hear; only the soft humming of the water elementals and occasional passing bird reaches him.
The Azim Steppe: Sometimes, usually at night. He’ll wander here if he’s in the mood for certain company…
Rhalgr’s Reach: Rarely. He comes by to pick up new gear and weapons.
Affiliations
Most of these aren’t public, and would have to be asked after!
The Scions of the Seventh Dawn: He was recommended by Y’shtola as he began to make a name for himself as an adventurer and when his Echo became more apparent. This is probably the primary organization most know him from.
Order of the Twin Adder: Natural chose the Adders for his Grand Company due to his closeness to the Shroud and respect for Kan-E-Senna. Majority of the Adders would probably know of Natural’s affiliation due to his being a Warrior of Light
IC Inventory
The following items are things that this individual carries on his person at all times. These are noted for pickpockets, and those watching him closely. This information is meant to be a prompt for insight and is not to be meta-gamed, though feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in RP (pickpocketing, a search, etc) with use of a simple /tell.
Coinpurse: A simple coin purse made of soft leather, often containing a few thousand gil that never exceeds one million.
Whetstone/File: Something to keep his teeth and nails sharp.
Fruit: Rather than the traditional three meals, Natural often lives off snacks when hunger strikes. This tends to be fruits (mostly apples) or dried meat.
Alcohol: In case he ever needs an emergency pick-me-up.
Gelmorran Potsherd: Found during his many voyages into the Palace of the Dead, he always keeps at least one of these shards on him as a reminder of his Duskwight heritage.
Health Potion: Now that he’s on his own again, he produces potions and keeps them close in case of emergency.
Zenos yae Galvus TT Card: Some things are best left unexplained.
RP Limits
I’m pretty flexible for the most part, but if I’m not okay with something I’ll usually speak up.
I will play Just ask. I’m normally up for anything.
Ask about Smut/relationships. I’ve already got a canon partner in mind for Natural, but he sort of gets around a bit so smut isn’t completely off the table. However, I tend to reserve that for people I know fairly well.
I won't play Certain super fetishy things that I’d rather not list. Again, if it seems odd or questionable, just ask.
RP Hooks
While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. Longer plots that are meant to run for more than a few quick RP's, please feel free to send me a tell/DM so we can work out a good reason for our characters to get to know one another.
■ Your character a Scion? They probably bumped into each other.
■ Twin Adder? Same deal. That or your character may have heard of mine.
■ Warrior of Light? I’m not exclusive to one. Yours may have fought a primal alongside mine at some point.
■ Ishgardian resident. It’s Natural’s favorite city so there’s lots of possibilities there.
■ Live in the Lavender Beds? Maybe your character spotted his obnoxious Carbuncle house by the river.
■ Live in Mist? Maybe he or one of his FCmates were beating the shit out of the striking dummy at 4 in the morning.
■ Gridanian citizen or wanderer in the Twelveswood? They’ve probably bumped into him once or twice.
■ Auri boy? Natural’s attracted to them. Maybe they caught him passing glances their way.
■ Handsome Elezen boy? Same deal. He probably got around Ishgard a bit too.
■ You or someone you know saved because of the Warriors of Light? He’s one of them! (but not of the 1.0 variety)

Player Note
There is a lot of information on this character wiki, but it is by no means completely comprehensive. There are chunks of backstory that are left intentionally vague so that details can be later added as developed through creative writing or in role-play revelation. Feel free to use Common or Uncommon rumors freely, if you want to use a Rare Rumor as a plot hook or to spark RP, I would ask that you send me a tell first, to make certain it's alright.
Character Lore Adherence
Everything concerning this character that has not been confirmed by in-game lore should be taken with a grain of salt. Anything that has had to be changed because of lore shifting will be noted below.
■ The primary “lore-breaker” would mainly be in terms of his character model. His skin is more pale than in-game allows, his teeth are sharp, and his eyes are lifeless.
Character Concept
If you’ve ever played Pokemon Black and White, he is very much based off his namesake, N (at least in terms of his backstory, not so much his appearance).

Tropes & Explanations
A trope is a convention or device that is often found in creative works. In this case, the tropes below describe my character either in part, or as a whole. Their background, personality, appearance, etc, most of them can be described in the tropes below.
Above Good and Evil A character declares that they or their objectives should not be hindered by considerations about good and evil. Such "meaningless, fallacious false dichotomies" are for simple-minded beings, not for them. This trope usually applies to villains, though very occasionally a hero may say 'screw right and wrong, I'm doing what I want.'

Badass Bookworm This character is quiet, smart and seemingly physically unimposing, but with Hidden Depths of formidable physical and practical skills. Their physical abilities might result from applying their genius to solve physical challenges like math problems. Their attention to detail might also result in a Diagnosis from Dr. Badass. While some badass bookworms are surprisingly strong, others might be Weak, but Skilled, relying on flawless technique or supernatural abilities.
In Natural’s case, his book is his weapon. He isn’t physically strong, but his spellcasting and strategic thinking are enough to make him a badass.

Beware the Nice Ones Sometimes, trying to Break the Cutie has consequences. Sometimes, the nicest person in the story gets pushed to the limit of what they can take... and the results are not pretty. The sweeter, gentler, more polite, more peaceful, and overall nicer a character is, the worse it will be for whomever is in the vicinity when they're subject to one round too many of Break the Cutie, or Dude, Where's My Respect?, a Rant-Inducing Slight, or hitting their Berserk Button or Rage Breaking Point. What was once a sweet and nice individual suddenly snaps and becomes something far worse than the Big Bad could have expected.
Though it’s very tough to push Natural into a blind rage when he’s pushed too far, he can certainly be exceedingly cruel to those who mistreat him. Asahi was one of the few who felt his wrath on this and it led to Natural stomping a hole in his skull as he took his last breath.

Black Knight An enigmatic warrior, clad head to toe in armor black as night. Usually ridiculously powerful, he is feared by all who know of him. Wielding a sword, speaking in a low monotone or sinister growl, and looking totally badass while doing it, he is almost always a major antagonist. The mystery surrounding his true identity is often a main plot point.
Natural is a trained Dark Knight, but he very rarely lets this side of him show. He feels keeping his Dark Knight status a secret can give him the upper hand in dire situations.

Cunning Like a Fox Foxes occupy a unique place among Animal Stereotypes. They can be good guys, bad guys, or completely neutral, but they're always crafty, clever, and cunning. Their sly nature sometimes results in illegal activities, so it's not uncommon to see them portrayed as thieves or con-artists; in other words, they're a classic Trickster Archetype. Sometimes this trope invoked under the phrase "crazy like a fox" for when the brilliant plan seems crazy to anyone who isn't quite as brilliant.
During his time living with the wolves, many beasts compared Natural to a fox due to his small build and ability to think quickly. He took this comparison to heart and came to love foxes dearly, even wearing a fox mask during combat to reflect his connection to them.

Eyes Always Averted Eye contact is usually an integral part of face to face communication, but some people missed the memo. It may not always be easy to pick up on, since we usually aren't seeing the scene through another character's eyes but through the metaphorical third person. The reason and duration varies; they simply may not do so to people who are not close to them, to unnerve other characters, a social disorder, or none may be apparent.
In Natural’s case, he avoids eye contact partially because of his anxiety and partially because he has Nystagmus courtesy of his Albinism which makes him feel self-conscious.

Family of Choice Often in fiction, a character who starts out Conveniently an Orphan will pick up extremely loyal companions along the way. Members of a Chosen Family mourn the lack of family in their lives and decide to build one of their own out of people they care for and who care for them in turn.

Funetik Aksent A Funetik Aksent (Phonetic Accent) is dialogue spelled phonetically, so that it looks the way the character sounds to someone with another accent. Since accents are one of the major ways of providing characterization, this is an easy shortcut to force the reader to act out the character correctly (admittedly at the cost of confusing those reading outside their language, and slowing those who aren't).
This is more of an OOC note, but Natural does have a very thick accent that is displayed in my writing (though I do tone it down for readability). If this is something that bothers or annoys you, just let me know and I’ll gladly drop it.

I Have No Son Sometimes, what parents want for their children differs from what the children want to do, especially if the parent has plans for the child to Follow in My Footsteps. Sometimes the child wants to be himself in a career the parent dislikes. And sometimes, the parent struggles with this, but eventually comes around and supports his child. And sometimes he doesn't. And if the child (usually a son) doesn't step into line quickly, the offending parent quickly disowns him, disavowing all knowledge that this "son" ever even existed.

Light/Darkness Juxtaposition Darkness is the absence of light, and light cannot exist without darkness. The dichotomy between the two has been part of human storytelling for a very long time — many Creation Myths often involve light emerging from darkness, and many destruction myths involve darkness engulfing light. Light and darkness also have many other symbolic means across many cultures. Thus, it is not uncommon for stories to visually, literally, or metaphorically juxtapose the two, often associating them with real-world notions (eg. Light Is Good, Dark Is Evil) of light and dark.

Nature Lover This is about those who love the great outdoors and all that dwell therein. They may be a forest dweller themselves, or live in the countryside where they commune with nature. It's also a safe bet that they'll either have a close bond with the local fauna, or at least have extensive knowledge of them. In their view, The World Is Just Awesome so they want to spend as much time with it as possible and share it with others.

No Social Skills For some reason, the character is mostly ignorant of and often confused by common social conventions and behaviors. They usually grasp enough to minimally function around other people most of the time, but any circumstances outside of their limited experience fluster, puzzle, or (at worst) upset or enrage them.
Though he’s gotten a lot better over the past couple years, sometimes Natural still misses social cues from time to time.

Offing the Offspring Some parents would go through Hell and back to protect their kids. Some even take it just a tad too far at times. Sometimes way too far. And then there's these parents. They don't love their children. Really. They don't even like them. Truth is, they'd really rather they didn't exist at all.
Even though Natural’s parents didn’t directly attempt to kill him, they did leave him for dead and attempted to bring about the end of his life through more complicated means.

Parental Abandonment A stunningly large number of heroes and their coteries are lacking in the parent department, either through death or in that they just aren't talked about. Even if both parents are alive, they may well be emotionally or physically distant (although that's just Parental Neglect). Everyone is, for the sake of the plot, Conveniently an Orphan, whether they actually are or not.

Raised by Wolves A character who lost their human parents and was raised by animals.
For Natural, he was literally raised by wolves. However, he did spend a lot of time with numerous other beasts around the Twelveswood as well, but the wolves had the biggest familial bond with him.

Shed the Family Name As names are for people in real life, they are an integral part of the identities of fictional characters. They will usually be made up of at least a given name and a last name linking them to one part of their family. Therefore, you can count on any person who wants to disassociate themselves from any family member sharing it by doffing the name that links them. Unlike your standard Meaningful Rename, which is usually part of the story's narrative and its significance derived from the meaning of the new name, this practice is marked by what is renounced: the part of the name linking the person to his or her despised family member.

Squishy Wizard It seems that many who possess great magical, mental, or otherwise mystical might are also in the worst of shape. They may be sickly, horribly ill, crippled, or just physically weak and puny; in general, people who have reality-bending powers seem to suffer for it in other areas.

Summon Magic Summon Magic is basically the ability to call on a magical, often mythological entity without the hassle of actually having it follow you around. This is a common spell found in RPGs.

Sympathy for the Devil This occurs when the hero realizes that a villain he is fighting is either not so bad, after all, has relatable (if still wrong) reasons for doing what he has done, or at least he just sees a vulnerable side in him which makes him empathize to an extent.

Tin Man He's incapable of emotion, or so he says. Really, he's as compassionate and sensitive as the next guy, or more so. In fact, he's probably the nicest guy in the series.

True Neutral The best known Character Alignment system has two axes: Good—Evil and Lawful—Chaotic. But some characters just don't fit either end of either axis: they're not selfless enough to be Good, but not exploitative enough to be Evil; they're not rule-abiding enough to be Lawful, but not arbitrary enough to be Chaotic. They could be described as morally bland. These characters are True Neutral, also known as "Neutral Neutral" or just "Neutral".

White Mage A White Mage is a character archetype and often a gameplay archetype which focuses on healing and/or buffing magic. They may also have access to magic that causes some status effects. Modern incarnations will often be given some offensive ability, often magic of the holy variety, though the Elemental Powers of water or wind may be given a healing affinity.
Though he’s not as well-versed as a White Mage as he is as a Summoner, Natural will take on the role whenever a healer is needed for a mission.

Yandere Yandere is derived from the Japanese words yanderu, meaning insane or sick, and deredere, meaning affectionate or loving. Simply put, a yandere is someone who is lovesick; someone who has been driven to insanity by extreme obsession or love, thus resulting in abnormal behavior if not violence.
This side of Natural is actually extremely rare and only surfaces if he feels particularly possessive or jealous over someone he’s in love with. Even then, he does well to keep it under control and never lets his possessiveness turn into abuse towards his partner.
