What is known is that he was born shortly after the beginning of the Dragonsong War, to a House wealthy enough to enjoy the benefits of being closely tied to the Four Houses. As Liottoix and Atrelle's only son, and in fact, their only child, Lucien grew up heavily doted upon as the heir to House Bellefleur. While most children would end up spoiled and ungrateful, Lucien was always described as a warm and friendly boy, willing to treat anyone with respect. Though he preferred to keep to himself, and his studies- many accounts of him reflected his easy popularity among his classmates. Though many admit, any deeper affections seemed to not be noticed by him and he was known as an oblivious heartbreaker to any girl who confessed to him.
Upon reaching manhood, the young Lucien shocked both his parents and House as a whole by announcing his decision to enlist- and even more dangerously- attempt to become a fully-fledged Dragoon knight. Horrified that their only child and heir to the House would risk something so dangerous, his parents asked him why he would even consider something- the young man replying that if he could not defend Ishgard from her enemies on the frontline, what gave him the right to lead a House? When confronted with the fact he was in fact, the sole heir to House Bellefleur, he replied- "Then I suppose I must not die then."

|

Though the Duke felt initial physical attraction to Beldrem, he felt more drawn to Dracyn emotionally and became a pillar for the other man as his marriage came to an end. Realizing Duke was what was best for Dracyn, Beldrem encouraged the two to continue their relationship, leading to their own eventual marriage. While it took some time for old wounds to heal, the three are now once more friends, and share custody of Josie and Westley.
| ||

History . Disclaimer: (Some of Duke's history could potentially be triggering, just a forewarning for self-harm/suicide/abuse.) Much of this information is not common knowledge, however it is very likely someone with the know-how and capability to research, could easily find pieces of the Duke's history over the years. While much of his life has been kept secret due to his House's machinations, there are still rumours, books, papers written about him that while heavily redacted, can lead to others putting together a rough history of the man. I am perfectly okay with people referencing this information icly, just speak to me prior so I can make sure it's not something that was redacted and would not be so easily found.
