The Duke can give off a bit of an intimidating aura when first meeting him, tall and still retaining a somewhat noble air (until you get to know him.) He keeps his white hair on the longer side, in a "I made it messy on purpose" kind of style. His eyes are a bright red, though they tend to darken when his mood shifts into anger and he's rarely seen without his glasses. He's quite muscular but still maintains a lithe figure as he still tends to favor Dragoon style fighting despite typically fighting as a red mage. Well-kept, clean, upstanding gentleman.
Scars & Markings: His entire body is covered in scars, varying in size and harshness most stemming from his many attempts at death. Burn marks, stab wounds, holes, you name it, he's got it. Two of the scars on his face are from his wife, the other - specifically the one on the side above his brow is from an unfortunate training accident with an ex lover. His hands are especially scarred (and sensitive as a result), for whatever reason he is particularly sensitive about his hands looking the way they do. So he wears gloves almost always.---

The Duke thinks fondly of Aymeric and believes he is exactly what Ishgard needs in order to bring about true change. Rumors persist that he "tamed" the Lord Commander and taught him how to be a man. When pressed on the subject, The Duke immediately becomes flustered, insisting it was "hardly anything" and "he just needed guidance! training is all! Yes he's handsome! B-but it was really nothing! A fling! He is a sweet man! Gentle! I-! Please stop asking me!" When asked, Aymeric simply smiles and agrees that the Immortal is indeed a fine man who helped shaped his views on how to lead... among other things.

The daughter of Dracyn and Bel, the Duke has a healthy fear of Kogy in the event he hurt either of her fathers. He respects her loyalty to her family, approves of the threats
against his person in the unlikely event he were every to betray the two admitting that it would be wholly justified. They've developed an understanding recently, with Duke promising her he would stop at nothing to protect their family and that he intends on proving his loyalty one way or the other. Kogy is also one of the very few people Duke listens too on the spot, and... also one of the few people that can get the regularly composed Duke out of his comfort zone.
A promise to a friend who perished, led the Duke to Selphie to look after her. He thinks of her fondly, but is quite content to give her a wide berth and allow her to do as she pleases and will overlook her petty crimes. In fact, they first time they met she pick pocketed him and he offered her the rest of the gil he had on hand. She thinks he's rather annoying, but likes to use him as a threat for the Moogle that follows her around - as Mog despises the Duke. Secretly, he's one of the very few of noble blood Selphie can tolerate mostly on the basis of how he easily and freely he gives his gil out to those who need it more.
Though he loved his wife dearly, their marriage was one wrought with destructive behavior that ended with his wife cursing him on her deathbed over a thousand years ago. He speaks of her often, but rarely if ever delves into how their marriage worked.He admits that he was often busy fighting in the Dragonsong War, and could not give her his undivided attention or blood children. He sought to ease her demands by adopting two children he found wandering Coerthas - unfortunately as they were Au'ra he was met with rage instead of acceptance. He speaks of her fondly at times, and other times admits that he is glad she is dead for his sake and for the sake of the ones he cares about. She is also the reason he prefers men as lovers and partners - he admits that women frighten him after the treatment he received at her hands.
The two Raen children he found wandering in Coerthas, orphaned and alone. Though they were not his blood children, he loved them more than life itself and did all he could to protect them from not only his wife's wrath, but all of Ishgard's. It was their death that was the catalyst of the Duke realizing his curse - they died of old age while he looked the same as he did when they were young. Their death caused him to go on a spree of self destructive behavior in an attempt to end his life, finding it impossible to do so thanks to the curse his wife had placed on him. Since then, he has refused any children with his partners over his long life and the though of being a father again is enough to drive him into a panicked frenzy. He speaks of them fondly, but their deaths were the single most painful death he has experienced in his long life. Their descendants today live on in Ishgard, tending to the affairs of his Estate while he is gone.
One of the Duke's descendants from Minette and Alitte's. She is typically the liaison to his Estate, and takes care off his affairs in Ishgard while he is away. She's said to greatly resemble Minette, and it may be the reason why the Duke is particularly fond of her - and refuses to let her accompany him on his adventures. She has been known to tease him and will indulge those wish to hear the more scandalous rumors about the Duke.
