Backstory
Ayuu lived on the southern coast of Othard with her tribe for most of her life, fishing for food and leisure alike. When word reached the Haragin that foreigners had come to Doma and begun construction on massive grey, monolithic structures while also terrorizing the locals with their fire-breathing steel demons, a large number of them decided they were having none of that, thank you, and built several boats to look for somewhere else to live. They picked up several other individuals who wished to escape the along the way, including: a Hyuran traveler who taught the Eorzean language to anyone who wished to learn, including Ayuu; a Lalafell who took up the mantle of navigator and helped point the boat towards Eorzea; and a number of Raen children, orphaned in the fighting, who had banded together and survived in the wilderness for some time. The boat Ayuu was on landed at Limsa Lominsa around the same time ((patch 2.2)) as several other boats, all of which were carrying Domans and other refugees formerly of Othard. Only Ayuu and a few others were allowed into the city - many of her fellow Haragin were turned away. She fished for a living, eventually finding affordable lodgings in the form of a tiny apartment barely wider than she was tall.

Abilities and Preferences
Competencies
Ayuu has an excellent grasp of the fundamentals of fishing, though since she moved to Eorzea she's had to learn what fish live where all over again. She prefers to fish with a net, though she can hold her own with a pole or even bare-handed if she has to. She's got an iron stomach and she finds nasty water critters that might gross out the average person, such as leeches, orobons, or squid, adorable. They seem to tolerate her, as well. She's also learning magic, and although she's just barely mastered the very fundamentals of manipulating aether she's a quick study.
Incompetencies
Ayuu's not much good in a fight yet. The Haragin tribe was both big enough and isolated enough that not everyone had to learn. Her understanding of the Eorzean tongue still has gaps, as well - she's much more fluent in her native Xaelic.

Hopes and Dreams
Aetheric Aptitude: Ayuu wants to learn more about magic.
Reunion: Ayuu wants to find at least some if not all of the members of her tribe that she was separated from.
Marine Exploration Ayuu yearns to be able to navigate the ocean freely, unfettered by things such as breathing and water pressure, and interact with sea creatures in their natural habitat.
Romance: A well-kept secret, to be sure, but even Ayuu yearns for more intimate companionship from time to time. She's just not sure where to look.
