History

Edith was born in the squalor of the Brume out of wedlock to Marguerite, a servant of House Dzemael. Her father, one of the lords of House Dzemael, sought to keep the existence of young Edith a secret, lest scandal befall his house. For seventeen years, her mother raised her in the servant's quarters of the manor, where young Edith cleaned and cooked for the rest of the servants. Upon coming of age, though, she was brought into the main halls of the manor, and a twelvemoons-long nightmare began, as she was not granted leave of the building ever. There, she was mistreated as some of the more unfortunate female servants tend to be... until one day, she had enough. With little but the clothes on her back, she made her escape. Now, she wanders the land of Eorzea in search of aid and employment, as she really hadn't put much thought into what to do after she was free. At first, she threw her lot in with the trading charter Callaway Holdings, where Ser Callaway instructed her upon her letters, and marksmanship. There, she met a young man named Justice Burke around Little Ladies' Day. The two quickly became more than friends. She made a misguided effort to raise funds for the company at a date auction, but the whole thing went sideways and ended with her being fired in short order. This quickly ended in Edith finding her way back to the streets, this time turning to Somnus after Justice disappeared from her life. Broke and destitute, she was swept off the street once more by a well-meaning alchemist, who mixed her potions of dragons' blood to hasten her recovery. This had unintended effects, however, as she was of Ishgardian stock, and she was quickly cast out again as a 'mistake,' the alchemist not wishing to be held responsible.

Personality

Edith is an energetic and fiery young woman. She frequently loses her belongings, and is rather naive about the world due to her sequestered upbringing. She is not very intelligent, but makes up for it in heart and effort. She often lets her passion or feelings get the better of her, before thinking things through rationally.

Family

Edith was born out of wedlock. Her father and siblings are unknown to her.

  • Marguerite Wicke: Edith's mother. The two were separated at her eighteenth nameday, and have not seen each other since. Marguerite died soon after the Seventh Umbral Calamity.

Friends

  • Justice Burke: (Whereabouts Unknown)Edith and Justice met at a Little Ladies' day party. He insisted upon calling her "Princess," out of a desire to show her her own worth. According to the traditions of Little Ladies' Day, Justice pledged himself to her as her Seneschal. Edith insisted upon calling him "Ser Burke." The two were a couple for a long while, after which Justice went off to war and was never heard from again. Edith was devastated.
  • Michael Callaway: (Previous) Ser Callaway took Edith in off of the streets, perhaps out of pity, and hired her on as a company retainer for his trading charter, Callaway Holdings. He intended to teach her to read and write, and how to fight with a rifle. After the date auction, the two never spoke again.

Antagonists

Basically the entirety of House Dzemael. She was the favorite plaything of one of Lord Tedalgrinche's sons, and House Dzemael is offering a reward of gil to anyone who would locate and deliver their wayward servant back unto them. She is known as a wanted person in the Holy See of Ishgard.

Other Notes

I adhere very strictly to lore, but I do not mind other characters that bend lore slightly. I am up for nearly all kinds of RP, but I do not enjoy plotless sex. Characters that attempt to bed her randomly can expect a loaded gun in their face for the trouble. Edith is exactly as she appears in game.
