Appearance & Personality

Height - 5 fulms 1 ilm
Weight - 115 ponze
Eye Color - Left Blue, Right Green
Skin Color - For someone who has been living and working in the scorching sun of Thanalan, Erin is shown to be quite pale in appearence. This is due to the clothing she wears when working outdoors. Erin prefers to cover her body from head to toe to prevent any stray sand from sneaking into her clothes.
Body - Erin is shown to have some 'puppy fat' in a few places. Namely, her stomach, hips, and cheeks. She doesn't appear to have much of a muscular figure anywhere else apart from her legs and arms, which were mainly sculpted from manual labor and more recently, sword & shield training. Additionally, Erin has a set of pointed ears and a tail- common traits of Miqo'te.
Additional Features - Though Erin tries keeping herself as well-groomed as possible (mainly to handle food above all else), her hands are often covered in cuts, dirt, or any other sort of substance when cooking. Across her left cheek runs a diagonal scar, which she had gotten in a 'Marmot war' while attempting to learn Archery. In addition, Erin also shows to have some slight balance issues due to being unused to being several inches shorter than her original height, as well has having a tail to weigh her down. Erin relies on either standing stiffly or leaning up against other objects for support.
Voice - Those short of hearing may have a difficult time hearing Erin, since her speech mainly consists of mumbling and stammering. Though friends and family may be able to notice an increase in volume and less wobliness in her tone. In general, Erin's voice is slightly soft, as if she is speaking only just above a whisper.
Personality - Overall, Erin's primary focuses in life are to become both a successful chef and travelling merchant. Wanting to view more of the world and eavesdropping on merchants in Ul'dah as a child was enough of an influence.
Erin tries to be as outgoing as she can to others, though she prefers to stay quiet and observative. She indeed has moments where she speaks up and contributes to conversation, but only if she's feeling comfortable with doing so. Because of this, Erin is slightly self-conscious and critical on what others think about her. She prefers to not be the center of attention at times and draws away from group activity quite often. She wishes she could break down her wall of social avoidance in hopes that it may help even more on her path to reach her goals.
In general, it's quite difficult to anger Erin. Most cases to trigger her annoyance would namely be by constant annoyance, nagging, or some cases of danger. When Erin DOES become angered, she isolates herself from others for a moment or two as her method of venting.
Combat - At first, Erin was unable to get behind combat. She has attempted to use a bow and arrow when she was younger, but was shown to be incompetant. As Erin got older, when times came along that she was in need of a weapon, she would rely on a skillet as a method of self-defense. Currently, Erin is receiving Sword and Shield training from a fellow member of the caravan she travels with, Gilded Rose.

Biography

Early Childhood

Erin was born in the great desert city of Ul'dah, raised by her parents Gladys and Walter Blackhall. Throughout her early childhood, Erin always stuck to a daily routine. Being sheltered and stuck in her home most of the time, the young girl had little interaction with children her age. In the morning, she would sneak out of her room to watch her father leave for his duties with The Brass Blades. For the rest of the day, Erin would assist her mother with either housework or gardening. Often, she would attempt to stay up all night just to see her father come home. However, due to his dedication to his duties, he would be gone for days at a time. This often resulted in Erin getting scolded by her mother when she was found asleep at the front door of their home.

After Erin turned ten, she always had an itch to travel to new places. This developed habits such as sneaking around the outer gates or trying to hide herself in merchant wagons whenever one happened to be close by. While her father was amused with this newfound behavior, he was always the one to send her back home to be put under watch by her mother.

Growing older, Erin grew more interested in the world outside of Ul'dah. Having learned about the dangers that lurked about the streets at night after her father one day returning home injured was a bit of an influence towards this. She wanted some sort of an escape route, or at least to find some place safe where her and her family could live. With Erin's fascination of the outside world, she also has developed an interest in mercantile. Whenever merchants and peddlers crowded the streets of the city, Erin always tried to learn more about them, as well as different parts of the world. She often hung around Ruby Road Exchange, eavesdropping on business deals and gossip between buyers and sellers. From what she's heard and witnessed, Erin would wonder what it would be like to become a merchant herself.

Teenage Years + Introduction to Merchantile

After turning fifteen, Gladys decided it was time for Erin to expand her capabilities as a young woman and teach her how to cook and sew. Erin wasn't too keen on sewing. She was often left bored, and she pricked her fingers with a needle all too many times. After a few suns, Erin refused to pick up a needle altogether. Cooking however, sparked a large amount of interest in the young woman. The different smells, textures, and flavors out of every day ingredients made Erin feel like some sort of inventor. After getting complimented on her cooking by her father, Erin figured that cooking should be her main focus.

Many moons have passed since then, and Erin still spent her time browsing the markets and eavesdropping on merchants, until she hatched an idea. Why not try selling some of her own food? With the information she has acquired over the years, Erin would set up a little table in the market, selling whatever finger foods she was able to make.

After reaching a small goal of 50gil, Erin figured that she was getting into the life of mercantile on the right foot. Though some of her snacks left some people satisfied, she grew slightly discouraged by the more successful food stands that caught more attention than she did.

One day while working her little stand, a foreign peddler approached Erin in an attempt to sell a 'special' type of potion. The woman disclosed no further information other than "Your stand will become extraordinarily popular overnight." Slightly suspicious, but wanting nothing else but to be able to please more people with her cooking, Erin purchased the potion and chugged it down. Erin didn't feel anything special, her stand still got the same amount of attention it usually did. However, later that night, Erin acquired a terrible headache and turned in early for the evening.

The next morning, Erin was shocked to see no longer a young Hyuran woman in the mirror, but a Miqo'te. She instantly searched for her mother, not having a single clue on how to explain the situation. Her body was unused to the shorter height as well as now having a tail, greatly effecting her balance.

Upon finding her mother, she was skeptical towards the new 'Miqo'te' in the house, even accusing Erin of being a thief and threatened to attack. Desperate to convince her mother, Erin recited old secrets and memories that only the family would know of. Upon realizing that the Miqo'te was actually Erin, she soon apologized and was willing to hear her out.

The two were unsure of what to do about Erin's new form. Her mother even summoned her father home out of emergancy. After sitting down and talking about the situation, Erin's parents gave her the choice of identifying as the same person, or pretending to be a retainer under a different name. Erin disagreed with the latter, believing that being a Miqo'te wouldn't effect her lifestyle.

Present Day

Now nineteen years old, Erin has carried on living as a Miqo'te. At first, she made a habit of stuffing her ears and tail into her clothing. After proving to be uncomfortable and even a bit painful, however, she has decided to leave them out in the open. Her appearence baffled some of the regulars at the markets, some even asking how she was able to change her race, to which her only reply was "Be careful with what you buy."

Other than that, not much of Erin's lifestyle has changed. She has a few issues with maintaining balance, having to rely on leaning or being stiff to keep herself up. However, she's currently practicing to overcome this issue. Over the years, Erin has brushed up on her culinary skills a bit more, and has even caught wind of the Culinarians Guild in Limsa Lominsa. She one day plans to travel there, both to visit and gain knowledge.

Erin has also saved up enough gil to begin travelling on her own with her mother and father's blessing. And thus, Erin begins her adventure to seek the rest of Eorzea. All to gain knowledge, meet new people, make some money, and possibly even find a way to change back to her own Hyuran self.

IC Events

Life With the Wayfinders

Having first stopped in Gridania, Erin has met some members of a travelling caravan called Wayfinder's Solace. After learning more about who they are and what they do, Erin became quite interested. She felt that travelling alongside them would give her a chance to both explore while under protection, and make some money on the side as well. After getting instructed on who to talk to and where, Erin soon hunted down the Caravan Master, Jikam Constans. After chatting more about the caravan, Erin was definitely interested in joining, and started travelling with them on their way to Mor Dhona. After a bit of time getting used to the people she has been travelling with, Erin feels as if the caravan is 'a home away from home.' Talking with others and getting to know people better has given her a bit of a boost in self-confidence, something she is extremely grateful of.

From Pans to Shields

After some conflict in Limsa Lominsa, Erin fell into a small state of depression after seeing a fellow comrade get injured for her incompetance. After having a one-to-one chat with the Caravan Mistress, Erin thought it would be time to try and learn how to defend herself with a weapon. To her, using a frying pan seemed to be inefficient in battle. However, since she was already used to swinging an axe around for botany, Erin figured that using an axe in battle may be better for her. After being directed to a sellsword that used to be affiliated with the Caravan, Erin was convinced that Axe combat wouldn't be very well-suited for her. She didn't give up on her quest, though. After being sent to another member of the caravan, Gilded Rose, Erin started her journey on learning how to use a sword and shield. She feels that this way she will be able to one day defend both herself, and those who need it most.

On The Road Again

Following the birth of the Caravan Mistress's daughter, Erin soon set off to live peacefully with the remaining members of the Wayfinders. Currently, she makes frequent trips back and forth from her new home to Limsa Lominsa's Culinarians Guild, where she begins her training into the life of a chef. (This Character is now Retired.)
