"That Cold glared Mi'qote? I heard he's a private eye, willing to sniff for anyone aslong the price is right."

"Right, him. Yeah, he keeps running around with a Sword, no Idea why though, heard he can't even scratch a wooden post with it"

Rare Rumours:

"Listen, and Listen well my friend. Leave that kid alone. He's seen things in his early years some of us don't even experience in a lifetime on the battlefield. If his business now is just snooping around without weapons, then we're all off better for it."

"Ah Gas. Traveled with 'im for ten cycles. Give that kid any type of blade and 'e'll turn into the devil 'imself. One of the finest child mercenaries we ever 'ad."

Nicknames

"Fang" - A nickname his former Mercenary brethren bestowed upon him

Current Residence

Gaspard currently resides in Ul'dah, conducting his business there from a small Home in the Market District

Player Standing

Taken from Val Nunh, who took it from a guy, whom took it from another guy.
Romantic Interest     Sexual Desire     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Neutral Standing     Poor Standing
Leummi Vrae - A young Mi'qote Lady he's met recently and is sharing affections with. While she seems to aim and pursue a steady relationship with him, He's neither willing nor looking forward to attachment. As it stands, he shares the nights and other days with her, but keeps it with a sense of distance.
Coatleque Crofte - The Sultansworn who's Inititally Introduced him to the finer rumours of Ul'dah. As she's cut contact short after their initial meeting however, he's opted to consider her neither ally or foe, but simply 'another person with information' for the time being, should he ever meet her again.
Leilani Belle - His initial first Contact on his first Case in Ul'dah. Due to the Hostile way the've split, he's not expecting to see any courtesy from her nor her Sister/Brethren. Moreso, she discarded the Linkpearl he's given her, moreso prompting his reasoning of her to be 'neutral'
Kanaria Galanodel - While he will not show it, he harbours Ill-intend against her given that she was the catalyst that put him at a disadvantageous situation. Moreso, she directly threatened, or tried to threaten him to obtain the information she wanted to, something that not only left a bitter after taste, but also made Gaspard remember her as someone who's life he doesn't hold in high regards. Nonethenless, he will not show it until the time is right, so for now, she's simply another amongst many Citizens in his eyes.
Lucan Iel Sidiatoris - A Mentor of his, whom he owns alot to. Unbeknown to him, Lucan simply fostered a mindset already there in Gaspards head, carefully nurturing his sociopathic/psychopathic tendencies to adopt a very distanced, nigh ice-cold view on life and others, veiling it under a moral set of lines that are easily interchangable. A man he consider a Friend, but who has been anything but. Nonethenless, it was his influence that turned Gaspards mind from that of a Victim, into that of a cold and calculating individual.
'Crow' - The man he initially traveled to Ul'dah for, and a man who's got an illustrious past with Lucan Iel Sidiatoris. While he knows only what has been conveyed to him by word, and other then that the rumors that the streets bring about him, Gaspard considers him a good contact for the future.

U'xiae Odh - A Mi'qote Keeper deeply focused on helping her own Tribe succeed to become a more sophisticated, and developed one. They both share the same aptitude for observation, which has prompted them to enjoy a few evenings of fine Observation, playing a 'guessing' game towards what each Patron in the bar could be, and what he'd be doing for a living and so on. Gaspard considers her a well mannered young lady, and moreso thick-headed if need be.

Biography

Born In the Outskirt of Gridania, Gaspard never got to know his true parents. Taken from an infant age by a band of plundering mercenaries knowng as the "Onyx Adders", he was raised amongst them, less like a child, and more like a disposable weapon. From his earliest days, he was conditioned to kill, to maim and to lynch anyone who stood against the black serpents banner. It was not long until he, but a young teenager, developed not only a taste, but yearning for blood and pain that accompanied it. It was during his late teenage years that Gaspard, mentored by one of the few 'intelligent' amongst the mercenaries, was also taught other values beyond blind violence, such as consideration, intelligent action, and observation. However, with the brutal nature the work of the Onyx Adders entailed, he found himself soon de-sensitized towards life, which laid the foundation what one could call his future 'psychopathy'. Nonetheless, It was not long until the young Mi'qote realized that there was more to life beyond what he was doing so far.

As the wandering Vagabunds eventually returned to Gridania, Gaspard lost all feeling of loyalty to the Onyx Adders, upon discovering that his family had in truth been slain by the very men he lived with, served with, fought with. With that, he abandoned them, setting off to start his life anew, as Vengeance was out of reach. For one, he did not feel like taking Vengeance as the Onyx Adders, in some way, have been his surrogate parents, but on the other hand couldn't forgive their Theft of his normal life. As such, he decided that abandoning them was the wisest choice. The first of many times where he'd show the aptitude to prioritize thought before emotion.

During his time as a lone traveler, Gaspard met a many curious figures, amongst them a Man he got to know as Lucan Iel Sidiatoris. With a likewise tragic past, both of them formed a sort of ..favorable bond. It was neither friendship nor loyalty, nothing of the likes. It was a simple understanding, as both came from similarly haunted backgrounds, and thus, understood how the other more or less 'ticked'. Lucan, himself a Garlean who had to flee Garlemand at a very young age due to political reasons, had become a formidable Thaumaturge in his own right, and furthermore a key figure in Ul'dah 's black markets and illicit trade rings. A wordly, and well spoken man. It was from Lucan that Gaspard learned about politics, about gil, about the values the common folk pursued and most importantly, how to use his head, instead of his violent side. To both of their surprise, Gaspard showed more promise then both of them could've ever presumed, with a high aptitude for memorization aswell as observation, and moreso a wide interest in many topics, especially after he was given access to Lucans private library.

What followed was a period in Gaspards life that he always likened to a sort of 'awakening', or eye opening. Picking up on all the education he had missed, all the information he was never able to attain, and all the social ques he never knew about, he soon became a well centered man, and far away from the bloodthirsty runt he once was. Abandoning any type of Warfare, for coin or for country, he vowed to rest his blades and pursue a more 'contionable' life. That of a private investigator, or Private Eye, as it capitalized on his talents and at the same time kept the 'dirty' work to those that employed him.

Up to this day, Gaspard works as a private eye, the blade at his side by now a memento to remind him of all he had gone through, rather then a weapon to be ever used again. A Memento, he both cherishes as it reminds him of invaluable experience he gathered, and at the same time reminding him about the abnormal past he had, and how it will keep chaining and controlling him for the rest of his life.

Biography Extended

(This section will chronicle various RP's that have happened on the server) ______________________________________________________ Gaspards life in Ul'dah began with a quite menial Job, one offered to him by his old Friend Lucan. He was to contact a band of Merchants and Mercenaries known as the Kindred, to seek out and negotiate on his behalf with a man known only by the Moniker of 'Crow'. Given an elaborate briefing on whom he'd meet there, what to expect and how to handle the situation, and how to best approach the Situation, Gaspard set out to do so, contacting said person in the Kindred home at the Goblet. What ensued was a rather uneventful, mild mannered Discussion detailing the bits and pieces to something akin of a 'Chess Game', which has been played between Crow and Lucan for the better of a year now, over the boarders and underground networks that spanned over all of Eorzea. In a way, it was an enticing contest between the wits of two men, on one hand tired of eachother, on the other incapable of letting their personal affairs rest with each own.

Considering his Job sucessful after said talk, Gaspard couldn't help but to stay and gauge for a few Days what it was exactly that had once drawn Lucan to the Kin. Thinking of it more as a welcome break from his mundane life in Ul'dah, he quickly realized that their Company was not for him, and returned to the grand city in Order to pursue further work.

It was there that, after a friendly talk with an elezen Lady by the name of Reinette Aurifront, that he was nudged in his detrimental boredom into a direction, and moreso a situation, that he never conceived to be..as enticing as it would end up to be.

Through her, he was made aware of the Rumours that traveled throughout Ul'dah, about Murderers and the likes making their ways through the City, plastering the stone-floor in the blood of Ul'dahn Citizens. A bit of a grand Rumour he thought initially, he still couldn't help but to inquire further into it, and so he reached out to the Highlander and Sultansworn that seemed to have an 'in' into the Situation. A Sultansworn by the name of Lady Coatleque Croft.

Her initial assessment of Gaspard was that he was some cheap Sellsword, a man out for Coin in exchange for violence. However, Gaspard was able to influence her opinion in that regard, displaying himself more akin to a 'bored private investigator' with a moral yearning to pursue such things rather then an actual Sellsword. Both agreed to lead on the conversation in a more private manner, to exchange information and come to the common agreement that them working with eachother could be of benefit to them both.

It was there, that he was tasked to acquire information on three seperate things. First, The Location of a Woman by the name of Lilianna Nazareth, as her testimony could be vital to the acquital of an innocently incarcerated person.

Secondly, the Mystery revolving around three Individuals and the Collars they carried around their neck. Thus being Leilani Belle, Osric Melkire and Kanaria Galanodel.

At last, he was simply given a warning; To beware of a male Mi'qote by the name of Jin'li. A warning alone that simply spurred his curiosities on further.

The Following days, Gaspard set out to find out what he could, and did so at first by making Contact with Leilani Belle, presenting himself as an ally and likeminded Individual, who only sought to find those responsible for their semi-enslavement/imprisonment, aswell as to acquire the location of Lilliana Nazareth. While he received plenty informations from those brief talks they've held, scribed in a book rather then spoken by word due to the traitorous nature of the recording, and detonating collar she wore, he eventually had to retrieve as, due to their paranoia, they demanded him to unveil Coatleques Identity, something he was not willing to do by professional ethics alone.

This would continue in the following talks, until eventually the situation escalated. Her 'Sister', Kanaria Galanodel attempted to threaten said information out of Gaspard, as he found himself heavily outnumbered on the territory of Leilanis friends. Prompting for a quick escape, Gaspard decided that poking any further into the matter would only serve to agitate them more. As such, the Mi'qote Investigator settled for what he had, in Order to make Contact with Coatleque Again.

____________________________

Several days later, and with still no answer from Coatleque, Gaspard became slightly bitter having to wait for her to reach back. As such, he decided to spend his time with more common things, such as tending to the local bars and finding other curiosities to amuse himself with.
