RACE: LALAFELL, DUNESFOLK
CLAN: GREAT BERIMU
PROFESSION: ARTISAN, MERCHANT
NAMEDAY: 10th SUN, 5TH UM
Born of a nomad clan of Dunesfolk that yet wanders the deep Sagolii, Jajara Jara is unique to her family as one who freely travels between the city-states and the wastes. Once, it was thought an act of defiance to a betrothal Jajara could not abide - but as the years have passed and horizons broadened, Jajara has come to consider it a great honor to act as an envoy between her clan and the outside world. That she may someday become matriarch has done little to stymie her enthusiasm. Her path most often carries her to Ul'dah but when the stars are right she can be found as far as Vylbrand, attending to her craft in Limsa Lominsa's markets.
Short even among the lalafell, Jajara nevertheless houses a great deal of strength in her stout body thanks to a lifetime of labor. She dresses and grooms herself in a very utilitarian manner, preferring simple clothing in modest hues over anything haute couture. Typically her only point of excess, if it could be called that, are simple yet finely crafted silver earrings and one of any number of brightly colored bandanas or scarves.
Jajara is dark skinned with golden eyes and vibrant red-violet hair. She bears very few scars aside from the wear and tear accrued through her work: calloused hands, webs of light scarring over her arms, a few stray scrapes and scratches on her cheeks or shoulders. She is lightly freckled across her nose and might possess the largest pair of ears of any lalafell living or dead. A clear and notable feature is a tattoo in rich crimson ink that spans the width of her face, which might give her something of an intimidating appearance if smiles didn't come so easily to her.
• NOMADIC. Great Berimu, the clan from which Jajara hails, treks across the desert to this day, crossing paths with any number of other clans, trade caravans, and adventurers (lost or otherwise). Its current matriarch, Jojore Jore, is a shrewd and iron-handed woman - worlds apart from her wayward daughter, Jajara.
• MERCHANT. Jajara, true to her kin, travels far and frequently rather than hold to one guild or shop. Her wares are modest but finely crafted, and most are made either by herself or by her family: beautifully polished baubles, delicate strings of gold and stone, yarn dyed with the rich colors only the flora of the desert can provide. Jajara's speciality pertains to metalwork, with recent interest drawing her in to study armorsmithing.
While not a student of the pugilist's guild, Jajara's lessons came from her family, as she learned to fight from a young age to help protect her clan from beasts and beastmen alike. Her moves are decidedly unrefined but undoubtedly potent, and it's more than likely Jajara can stand toe to toe with most in an honest brawl..
