Kuzhuk Dotharl, also known as Kuzhuk the Silent is the product of a union between a Dotharl raider who took an Olkund maiden as his wife. Kuzhuk is a behemoth in every sense of the word. Standing at 8'2", towering over even other Xaela, the warrior is truly a mind-boggling sight. Rippling with muscle packed everywhere onto his body, oozing testosterone to the n'th degree, and possessing utterly surreal strength and toughness, Kuzhuk is more mountain than man. With skin as dark as night and gray eyes that pierce one's soul, Kuzhuk came to Eorzea shrouded in mystery. A Xaela of few words, he is more liable to reply in a single sentence or even just a grunt of approval than to engage in lengthy conversations. His looming figure is both calmingly tranquil, yet a reminder to evildoers to remember their place. He loves soft things, cute things, sweet things, as well as his partner in crime, the Tiny Tapir known as Chochum! After leaving Othard behind, the Xaela left his former tribe-name behind him, a new worldview having washed over him. To this end, the berserker now pretends to be of a different tribe to avoid any cases of being recognized, hence his Eorzean identity of Kuzhuk Himaa.

Interests

Likes

  • Quiet and tranquil places, usually in nature
  • Soft things, cute things, sweet things, etc.
  • Eating like a dragon but slumbering like a primal

Dislikes

  • Loud, brash, rude, angry, etc. people
  • Being the center of attention
  • Being overly crowded places

Favorites

Foods: Steak, chicken, soups, cheeses, all kinds of breads, pasta and spaghetti
Drinks: Apple Juice
Colors: Red, Blue, and Green

Hobbies

  • Likes finding cute animals to play with randomly, becoming easily distracted in the process with his rather one-track mind. This often results in the mother of said cute animals becoming rather upset. Adittedly, Kuzhuk would adopt as many cute lil' animals as possible as pets if he could
  • As a born and bred warrior, training with his Greataxe, his weapon of choice, is something that brings him great clarity and allows him to think, similar to meditation almost. The worlds problems become much less potent when slowly practicing on his form as well as his strength.
  • When going to a new place, Kuzhuk usually will oggle the stalls of whatever market is there to look at different shops. A particular fan of Eorzean ice-cream, Kuzhuk is often found sitting down for hours to try out all the flavors of ice-cream he's never heard of before. Though paying for all this food in turn becomes a problem in itself.

Appearance

Hair/Fur: Originally blond, but mostly dyed black, though the tips still remain the former.
Skin: As black as the night sky
Eyes: A deep and intense silver
Height: 8'2"
Weight: 512 lbs.
Build: A Living Mountain of Muscle and Testosterone

A behemoth, the sheer sight of Kuzhuk is enough to cause fear in the hearts of most lesser warriors. Thanks to the selective breeding of the Olkund tribe, Kuzhuk naturally had a much higher tendency to grow, though, in reality, the size and height of the Xaela has surpassed any idea of expectation, a total genetic lottery. Standing at eight feet and two inches tall, Kuzhuk's appearance is truly surreal. Born and bred warrior, his entire physique reflects the only thing he was taught to do for the entirety of his life. With broad shoulders that could carry oxen atop them, legs the size of thick tree trunks, a large square chest, a chiseled and lean midsection and waist, as well as a wide V-shaped back that ripples with muscle against the skin with even the slightest movements. Kuzhuk's dark skin and size gives him an almost otherworldly appearance, a threatening specter that seems to be an omen of ill tidings. This supernatural aura is even more evident in the Au'Ra's feats of strength and durability, capable of uprooting entire trees or crushing armored skulls with his bare hands, not to mention withstanding a barrage of arrows. Perhaps the most eerie aspect of Kuzhuk, as attested to by eyewitnesses, are his mysterious yet alluring silver colored eyes. Seemingly glowing even in the dimmest of lighting, Kuzhuk's eyes and intense stare can seem to gaze straight into a person's soul. When the Xaela locks eyes with a person and speaks in his usual incredibly deep voice, the effect it has on a normal person can be truly terrifying.
Kuzhuk's face is one of both youth and experience. Still untouched by the ravages of time, the Xaela still appears very much in the prime of his life, with a somewhat angular yet sturdy look to his face. Along with his dark-as-night skin, the warrior's silver eyes are one of the first things that a passerby might notice when looking at him. Contrasting this color is a full head of long and semi-tamed hair that the pilgrim lets flare out as it pleases. The ends of his hair reveal his status as a natural blond, as well as the shoddy job he did at trying to dye it black. Only a few scars can be seen on his face, as most of the time it's rare as it is for one's weapon to reach and significantly damage his face when it's 8 feet above the ground. A small one under his lip is the most notable however. Kuzhuk's horns and head-bones are fully developed and cover much of his face, accented by some minor trinkets and charms that he has in the braids of strands of his hair. Save for these main features, Kuzhuk's face is fairly normal and with no real abnormalities.
To go more in depth with the Xaela's body, it is important to stress the perfect storm of genetics and training that allowed for this berserker to be the mesomorphic mountain he is. Right off the bat, almost the entirety of Kuzhuk's body is packed to the brim with muscle, causing to appear as a 'classical barbarian' to some travelers. With very broad shoulder befitting a creature his size, Kuzhuk's upper body is a marvel in itself. With arms like pythons and calloused palms, it is apparent to those who simply shake his large hands how dedicated his life is to fighting. The au'ra's large, mesomorphic-shaped chest, is just as chiseled to the point of being anatomy chart as the rest of his body. It is here that more telling signs of past injuries can be seen, with three large slashes crossing across his chest at various angles, leaving behind nasty scars as a result. Similarly, Kuzhuk's back is incredibly wide, proportionally so to his shoulders and the rest of his body. Even the smallest of movements are enough for the muscles running along and down his back and sides to pop up and wriggle underneath his skin as a result. As per the norm with these things, Kuzhuk's waist and abdomen are narrow, with abdominals and obliques chiseled out of marble practically. Seeing as how his legs comprise much of his height, Kuzhuk has always taken extra care to train them hardest, resulting in their current tree-trunk size quads/hamstrings and large calves.
-and, of course, Kuzhuk simply eats whatever he wants without care for diet nor training, much tot he chagrin of his companions. It's good to be a barbarian.

As someone not educated on the world of Eorzea, living the sheltered life of a nomadic warrior, his curiosity for new things is insatiable.

Biography

PART 1: Baptism by Blood and Water

Kuzhuk was born as the product of a union between a Dotharl father and an Olkund mother. The former had captured the chief's daughter in the midst of a raid and taken her as his wife, siring a son who he name Kuzhuk Dotharl. So it was that the dark skinned barbarian's early years were spent roaming the Azim Steppe with the rest of the Dotharl tribe, ignorant of the world beyond. His quiet and often isolated mother barely appeared in public, and seemed to resent Kuzhuk more than anything, a feeling that the young Xaela struggled to accept. Still, in a society that prided war and strength above all else, Kuzhuk flourished at a young age. With an undeniable skill for combat, an aggressive nature that often put him at odds with other Dotharl, and a rage that was unmatched, Kuzhuk had all the trappings of a true warrior. As well as being taught the typical lessons and customs that young Xaela were told, Kuzhuk took an exceptional likening to the Tribal Elders who regaled him with the rich legends and stories of the common Xaelan culture. This, combined with the zealous beliefs in reincarnation that were regularly espoused by his father, left a major impact on the young Dotharl, planting the seeds for further growth in his mind and soul.
While the majority of Kuzhuk's childhood was rather uneventful, one thing quickly stood out to tribal members as the years passed: his size. As his skill in combat grew, so did he. At first, there were only a few minor growth spurts, nothing out of line with the regular development of other Xaela males. Yet, unlike other males, Kuzhuk simply kept growing, much to the alarm and awe of the tribe. In the span of a decade, Kuzhuk grew as tall as the tallest adult male Xaela in the tribe, still with plenty of room left to grow. With such a tall and naturally muscular body, Kuzhuk was quickly seen as a prodigal Dotharl, one who could put the 'beast' in 'beastmode' better than any other. With a voracious appetite and the ability to sleep like a bear, Kuzhuk grew stronger and tougher as he got taller, with muscle building almost across the entirety of his body, a freak of nature, a result of winning the genetic lottery via his Olkund lineage. As the Xaela continued his education in the art of war with the other children of the tribe, he quickly found that the use of a greataxe suited his aggressive and savage style of combat well, allowing him to use his freakish strength and durability to overwhelm opponents with ease. Just as aggressive and temperamental as ever, Kuzhuk saw himself as beginning to become a truly zealous warrior as his father had told him he would. Finally, the time came for him to become an adult, he would join the raiding party once the steppe warmed in the spring.
As fires ravaged the steppe, ignited by the Dotharl to scatter and terrify the Hotgo tribe, Kuzhuk appeared in the vanguard of the raiding party. Those survivors of that fateful massacre described the sight of the 'giant behemoth' lumbering through the smoke as that of a demon in the visage of an Au'ra. A berserker incensed on the zealous belief of war and rage, Kuzhuk's silver eyes glowed against the embers of destruction. Armed with his greataxe, the berserker cleaved a path through man, woman, and child, decimating everything in his way. This was glorious, it never once crossed his mind to give the worms, the weak, mercy. As the massacre of the Hotgo tribe continued, Kuzhuk left a path of utter destruction and devastation behind him, drenched in a dried coat of blood and grime. Pillaging and slaughtering anyone and anything that stood in his way, Kuzhuk felt the tales of his childhood become a reality once again. His freakish strength let him cut through foes like hot butter, his tough body ignored any pain. His mind had become incensed by anger, a furious inferno of range and zeal that was now unleashed with no care for who or what was put in his way. He was walking alongside legends, alongside the warriors of past, he was on his way to reincarnation.
It was in this baptism of blood that Kuzhuk became a man, a true warrior of the Dotharl, a berserker with no regard for anything but the fire of rage that he wished to spread upon the world. As the years passed on, this life continued. More tribes came to fear the terrifying sight of the fully grown 8'2" Xaela stomping through the smoke and fog of war, the burning silver eyes an omen of death and destruction. Infamous amongst the tribes of the Azim Steppe for his savagery, ferocity, and above all, his freak-of-nature status, Kuzhuk was lauded as a true Dotharl in every sense of the word. The beast inside of him, the rage that burned hotter than the sun or the fires of the hells, only grew more intense as these years of glory passed. More vicious, more savage, and an utter disregard for his or others lives. He killed, he pillaged, he fought to die and be born again. He was Kuzhuk Dotharl, but on the inside, he had become the primal embodiment of rage and chaos, the very sight of his silver eyes was a seal on a person's doom.
Unfortunately(?), this would soon change, as those in the Dotharl inner circle began themselves to fear the berserker and his continued descent into savagery. Although his power and skill was undeniable, in recent raids, he had begun attacking without discrimination, attacking both the Dotharl warriors as well as their prey. Knowing that this would continue, as was the fate of all berserkers, Kuzhuk's father acknowledged that his son's soul had been lost to the gods now, and that the warrior had become a shell of his former self. Thus, for the good of the tribe, a plot was concocted to exile the beast. After returning from a recent successful raid, a feast was held to celebrate the victory. Eating and drinking his fill, the other warriors managed to get Kuzhuk drunk and eventually pass out from the barrels of alcohol he had consumed. With this done, the Dotharl abandoned the berserker, packing up the camp and migrating far from the site of the night before, stranding Kuzhuk in the midst of a sea of endless green.
Upon waking, Kuzhuk was confused. Thinking at first he had drunkenly wandered out of camp, the Xaela wandered for a while to try and retrace his steps. When this failed, the warrior laughed off the disappearance, thinking it was a joke of some kind. Once this stage ended, realization hit, as Kuzhuk saw what the tribe had done and that they had abandoned him for good. Sinking into a deep depression, Kuzhuk felt betrayed and confused. Hadn't he done as the elders wanted? Hadn't he become a glorious warrior? He was the strongest, the most savage, and an unstoppable force. Yet, he had been cast out. Suicidal thoughts circulated in Kuzhuk's head like a fog as a deep loneliness set in, a feeling of such despair and isolation that it pierced his heart and soul in ways that he never thought he could be hurt. That kind of loneliness can do terrible things to a person, contorting their minds, taking away their will to live, or in Kuzhuk's case, enter into a more pure and primal rage than he had in his entire life until then.
With a mighty roar that echoed across the Azim Steppe, Kuzhuk grabbed his axe and began stomping west. Driven by an almost supernatural pain inside of him and a suicidal disregard for his own life, Kuzhuk went on a one-man rampage. Walking in a single direction, the Xaela would ravage any settlements or tribes he came across, butchering and devastating anyone who crossed his path without care. This pattern continued as the behemoth continued his one-man death crusade westward, decimating villages. It was only when a large hunting party tracked Kuzhuk down did the berserker finally face justice. Mounted and wielding bows, the hunters pelted Kuzhuk with arrows up and down his back as he ran away across the steppe. Riddled with arrows in him like a pin-cushion, the Xaela bled a red trail on the grass beneath him. Finally, the warrior ran out of ground, falling suddenly off the side of a cliff down to the waters of The One River. Thinking that Kuzhuk was dead, or would die from the numerous arrows in his back, the hunters returned home to rebuild and mourn.
Kuzhuk floated down The One River, motionless and drifting inb-etween this world and the next. He could hear his mother apologizing for giving birth to him, his father telling him stories about being reincarnated. Yet, Kuzhuk did not die. Instead, the dark skinned Xaela was saved by a boat of fishermen off Doma who saw the large body and hauled it ashore. The Raen at first thought to let the poor bastard die, but decided against it, patching up the warrior and nurturing him back to health with the help of local healers. When the barbarian came to, he found himself moreso humbled and ashamed than upset. It was from this second baptism of water that Kuzhuk became much more quiet and silent like he is now. Lost, and ashamed of his actions and his foolish ideas about glory and reincarnation, the Xaela bemoaned his life and felt the weight of those he had killed and decimated hanging heavily on his shoulders. An emotional wreck, the Xaela thought once again about taking his own life as some sort of 'justice' but was too cowardly to go through with the plan. In the end, the Raen who saved him consuled him to use his 'great gifts' to help others. While he had ruined and taken many lives, he still could save them and help others to try and atone for his sins.
Feeling the most awake and alert that he had in years, Kuzhuk took this ideal to heart, deciding to become a wandering pilgrim, dedicating himself to protecting the weak and the innocent from harm. Upon fully healing, Kuzhuk took the tribal name of Himaa to avoid any complications with other Xaela who he might have attacked or wronged in the past as a Dotharl. With this done, and a hearty thanks to the Raen who saved him, Kuzhuk left Imperial-controlled Doma, as well as the whole of Othard behind, and traveled west to Eorzea where adventurers like him were in dire need. In this new world, Kuzhuk was both overwhelmed yet in awe of the new sights and sounds. The foods, the people, the food, the customs, the food, as well as the creatures. It was in his first months here that the Xaela befriended his iconic partner, the Tiny Tapir known as Chochum. With a penchant for looking at the cute/sweet/soft things of the world to help him forget about his horrendous past, Kuzhuk wanders Eorzea to help those in need and try to find inner peace both for himself and for the sake of those he has wronged.
