Appearance
Lord Descoteaux was an exceedingly tall and pale man, standing close to seven fulms tall in his bare feet. Before his death in his mid-fifties, Ludovic's hair had already turned a pale silver with traces of white here and there. However, his one good eye was still full of youthful fire and imperiousness. Across his left eye ran an ugly scar, which blinded him on that side. He was always immaculately attired, and smelled faintly of expensive oils and perfumes at all times. The only jewelry he ever wore was a ring on his left hand and the occasional necklace.
Behavior
Ludovic had been compared to a diamond on occasion: brilliant, expensive, cold, and hard. When he spoke to anyone, his tone was patronizing, and he often sound some demeaning nick-name to assign them, rather than wasting his time on their real names. Additionally, his blind left eye had caused him to develop a habit of talking to people while staring at them directly with only his right eye, like a bird trying to focus on something. Nonetheless, if the occasion demanded it, Ludovic could adopt an astoundingly friendly and cordial tone and demeanor, a feat which many of his casual acquaintances find relatively shocking.

History/Timeline
Almost nothing is known about Ludovic's past, and many people theorize that Ludovic Descoteaux was not even his real name. Whatever the case, Ludovic rose to power in the criminal world during the Garlean invasion of the city-states. After the Calamity, he was one of the first to take advantage of the power-flux, greatly increasing and expanding his powers and influences. In this time, he took in scores of orphans and other destitute or unwanted people. Since then, he has worked quietly, efficiently, and relatively bloodlessly to expand his criminal empire even further. Now, instead of being based solely in Gridania, his organization had branches in all the major city-states and several smaller towns. Nonetheless, Ludovic showed no signs of slowing down his expansion, as whatever goals he desired had not yet been fulfilled, and he continued to work until his unexpected death at the hands of one of his most loyal subordinates, Isra'ir Nejem.

- Norianne d'Aulaire: A high-born Elezen woman whom Ludovic was once married to. Succeeded Ludovic as head of his criminal empire by acting as regent-ruler to their daughters, the true inheritors of his wealth.
- Marjolaine & Julienne Descoteaux: Lucovic's twin daughters. Currently living in Garlemald.
- Isra'ir Nejem: One of the many orphans which Ludovic raised after the calamity as foster children. One of his most loyal retainers.
