Synopsis

It is common to find oneself engaging in conflicts of good and bad. In this era, on this star, if one has no roots in a cause, stuck in a point of neutrality, motives and intentions come into question. What does it mean to be morally grey? What does it mean to pick a side? Is there a right or wrong choice? Or is there simply existence and the pursuit of furthering one's own world views, confirming the values our mind considers "correct". "Good." "Right."

What will we do when our choices toward good are nothing more than second best?

Appearance & Personality

Miyuki is not by any means other-worldly or graceful in appearance or demeanor, however, more often than not she's a quiet woman that prefers to remain silent about her past and her problems, choosing instead a life of class, reservation and working hard to make sure loved ones are cared for and safe. Sporting mild waves of long black hair, and pale ivory flesh, due in part to her heritage as well as living a good portion of her adolescent years indoors only, she is, upon inspection, of Doman descent. Her eyes are an ice blue hue, and her cheeks usually flushed with a bit of rosy colour. She is, perhaps at best, above average in her appearance, caring more to invest time in her work than in her looks.

Miyuki isn't at all very short, standing about five fulms, six ilms, and has a lithe frame and strong legs, made great for agility, and slender fingers, good for intricate engineering and mechanical work. She wouldn't broadcast these traits of hers very publicly however, choosing to do mechanical jobs under wraps, and not daring to bring up her training as a Shinobi without just cause.

Miyuki, since her integration into Eorzean culture, hasn't picked up many hobbies, and spends most of her time either making ends meet or watching people in various cities as they go about their lives.

N P C

Hisashi Mazaki ( ) ( NPC ) - The Father
Miyuki's father was a quiet man, and founded Miyuki's drive to try to remain honorable at all costs. A former Shinobi, and the one responsible for initiation a rivalry between budding Ninja's, Miyuki and her brother Hiro. Miyuki fought very hard to earn the right to carry her father's soulstone, but as assumed, Hiro, being the eldest and more skilled of the two, inherited Hisashi's soulstone. Miyuki spent some time feeling as though she was a disappointment to her father after she conscripted to the Garlean Empire upon the retaliation of the Doman rebellion.
Natsuko Mazaki ( ) ( NPC ) - The Mother
Miyuki's mother is the woman who taught Miyuki to trust in her instincts, and to practice compassion where she could. Miyuki spent many Spring afternoons wandering through the foothills of Yanxia to watch the cherry blossom trees bloom, and those are memories she hold very dear. Unfortunately, Miyuki also can't forget the memory of Natsuko's face as she watched Miyuki plead with the Garlean forces to conscript to the army, in order to keep her and her husband Hisashi safe from harm.
Hiro Mazaki ( ) ( NPC ) - The Brother
Born six years ahead of Miyuki, Hiro was almost like another father figure in the household, although he had tendencies to be audacious and sly. Miyuki never interacted as closely to Hiro as Tatsuya did, but every so often they would spend time together doing household chores or goofing off. Miyuki was never very annoyed with Hiro much growing up, but she was usually pretty jealous of the time him and her father would spend together, and left her feeling in the dust.
Hime Maibito ( ) ( NPC ) - The Sister-in-law
A beautiful Doman woman who ended up spending a lot of time with the Mazakik family. As Hiro's bride-to-be, she spent quite her fair share of time with Miyuki, and Miyuki grew fond of Hime and her ability to ground Hiro back to reality when he was being unfair or unjust. Miyuki in a sense, also looked up to Hime as a sister she never got to have growing up.

P C

Kudros Crendraven ( ) - The Intelligent
Miyuki doesn't have too much interaction with Kudros outside of Castrum Aubernis, where they both were stationed in Ilsabard before a rescue party for him came in and toppled the Castrum and their bioweapon to the ground. Initially, she held an awkward mix of resentment and respect for Kudros, entering her element of engineering and excelling above her, just instilling her insecurities further. But as an intelligent woman herself, she respected the work he put in, despite thinking he was a fool for leaving his family behind in Eorzea. They occasionally keep in touch now, though she worries she'll push a boundary with his fiance.
Lei Qiang ( ) - The Childhood Friend
Miyuki's Auri friend. These two spent quite a lot of their childhood together in the Ruby Sea, playing on the beach, making fun of the old Ice Witch in a nearby cave, and beating each other with sticks and rocks trying to pretend to be Ninjas and Samurais. Time seemingly only pulled them further from each other, and Lei went on to learn from the old Ice Witch, while Miyuki was shipped off to Ilsabard.
Kerrath ( ) - The Meathead
Miyuki doesn't know much yet about Kerrath, other than his use of his head as a blunt weapon, and his axe being covered in blood almost consistently. She does appreciate his forwardness and his openness in wandering up to speak to her, and offering to help give her a tour around the Goblet and Thanalan.
Chip Wayman ( ) - The 'Hero'
Miyuki's first encounter with Chip was when he dove head first, arms wide open into a massive, behemoth of a Garlean weapon of mass destruction and nearly jeopardizing his entire rescue party. Since then, she recognizes Chip as a boy who tries his hardest to be a good man, however, she can't help but view him as a moron who doesn't know the severity of his actions, or inactions. Chip has shown a lot of kindness to Miyuki, including making sure she has a place to stay while she tries to integrate into Eorzean society after being displaced from the rescue mission, as well as leading Miyuki to answers regarding her brother's demise, and his Eorzean mistress who may hold the key to knowing his burial whereabouts, and her father's soulstone.

OOC Notes & Links

I will play mature content and themes (violence, sexuality, drug / alcohol use) as long as they're logical in a plot-driven encounter. Coarse and excessive language. Temporary injury and incapacitation. Temporary imprisonment. Most walk-up encounters. Romantic plots.
Ask about long-term and/or permanent injury and disfigurement. Long-term captivity or imprisonment.
I won't play permanent character death or rape plots.
If an aspect of RP makes you uncomfortable in a scene we're playing, please send me a /tell, letting me know. Communication is very important, more important than potentially keeping immersion.
All roleplay is strictly confined to IC circumstances. The blending of IC and OOC is not something I'm comfortable with.
