Appearance

Hair/Fur: black with silver/white highlights
Skin: blue-gray
Eyes: blue / green heterochromia
Height: short
Weight: thin
Build: muscular / lean

Okhi is on the small side. With more Keeper blood than Seeker blood, she generally passes for a fullblooded Keeper except in areas of very bright light, where her pupils are more obviously slitted.
She has very few curves, dedicating her life to combat. She's basically a skeleton with muscles attached - there's exactly enough fat on her to approach the vicinity of 'healthy' and no more.
Her left arm has been replaced at the shoulder with a mechanical limb that is stronger, more durable, has wicked claws, and decent protective plating. Although she's quite pleased with the replacement, she readily acknowledges that if the dragon's fangs had been a few inches further into her torso, she would have died.

Stoic, Strong, Self-Reliant, Independent, Genuine, Adaptable

She's a bit skeptical about the Twelve. The Elementals are a real thing that really manifest. They used to disintegrate people on the regular. The primals are a real thing, and actually do stuff, albeit generally bad stuff (other than Ramuh, who's amazing and wise). She pays lip service to Nophica, the matron mother, for her supposed role in creating the Elementals, but the other eleven are basically myths to her. Also she often visits the sylphs whenever she's in the Wood. She's at her most relaxed among the trees of Little Solace.

Biography

Okhi's mother was a traveler who came to live in the Black Shroud. An accomplished archer, Cemi Dohki quickly settled in to life among the Wood Wailers and fell for a craftsman-of-all-trades. Unlike most Keepers, Cemi was content to keep her mate around, since it was rather useful for the soldier to have a house-husband who could cook, clean, craft, and repair, as well as raising their only child.
Okhi's father was, himself, a half-breed. His father was - at the time - a Tia of the Aldgoat clan of Seekers, and decided to take a mate from outside the clan, a Keeper by the name of Okhi. By the time the old goat challenged the clan's then-current Nunh (and won), the little half-blooded kit had already been born, and a tragic accident had rendered Okhi (the elder) infertile. He went on to perform his duties as Nunh for many years before more-or-less throwing a challenge in his old age, so that he could live out his golden years in the relative peace (or something) of Ul'dah with his beloved.
N'Okhi'a was not quite so fortunate. Having married a soldier, he thought he understood the danger she faced. But when the news of Carteneau came, he was devastated. Cemi Dohki's body had never been found - presumably, it was obliterated by the raging primal, Bahamut. In his grief, the half-blood killed himself, leaving his daughter to fend for herself.
All her life, Okhi had wanted to be a soldier. She was a decent archer - she would be phenomenal, with practice. Raw talent saw her do well in many competitions as she grew up, but Okhi wanted to be a hero. Nobody sings about the third archer from the left, firing in a volley. The songs are about heroes, like the legendary dragoons of Ishgard. While Gridania has no dragoons, it does have lancers, and so Okhi pushed herself to become a lancer. It wasn't easy, but she managed to distinguish herself. She learned to master her rage in the face of mockery, to overcome her physical limitations with hard work and long hours of practice, and eventually, she became a capable lancer in her own right, refining her techniques and adding acrobatics not traditionally found in the art of the lancer - her heart was still in the clouds.
With her mother's death, her enlistment into the Wood Wailers ground to a halt. She was no longer certain she wished to die for someone else's war, even in defense of the Twelveswood. She set down the lance and picked up a pitchfork, and worked for several years at the stables in Bentbranch. Although she tried to keep in practice with her weapons' work, there were very few meaningful challenges to hone her skill against in the Wood, even after the devastation wrought by the Calamity. Her first kill was with a pitchfork - a thief had broken in to try and steal a chocobo egg. She cleaned up the mess and dutifully reported the death to the local Wailers.
At the recommendation of an old friend in the Lancer's Guild, Okhi requested to train with a skilled lancer by the name of Aurimont. He took advantage of his position as her mentor, and then, in an effort to cover up his actions, he slit her throat. After doing so, he apparently decided against killing the cat (apparently he wasn't much for necrophilia and might have liked a second round), and brought her to the local healers. The damage had been done, though - although she'd survive, her throat had been mutilated, rendering her unable to speak above a whisper, and that, with pain.
With time to heal, she might have made a full recovery, but Aurimont was rather insistent about his role in 'protecting' her. He'd come up with a cover story about bandits and his own supposed heroics, and used it as an excuse to keep a close eye on his 'pet.' She ran, unwilling and unable to reveal the truth about a respected Wailer. At first, she took odd jobs, becoming something of an adventurer right as that title became popular thanks to the actions of the Warrior of Light. She made enough money to scrape by, spending most of it to feed her beloved chocobo (still a chick, barely able to walk on his own, much less carry a rider) and maintain her gear.
She took an extremely ill-advised job because it paid very, very well - the things she saw would go on to haunt her dreams for a few weeks, but it paid enough that she could get by for a couple of years if she watched every gil. Alternatively, it could pay for one big purchase - and so, she paid for the services of a pair of healers, a talented chirurgeon and a conjurer. The chirurgeon would open her throat afresh, cutting away the scar tissue, while the conjurer would help to mend the damage and set her on the road to a full, true, recovery. For once in her life, things went according to plan, and she regained her voice and a good measure of her confidence. Deciding to finally, finally chase her dreams, she set off for Ishgard.
Unfortunately, as a heathen and a Miqo'te, she had next to no chance to actually become a dragoon. Undaunted, she set out to prove her worth and her valor to the stubborn Ishgardians, taking on increasingly difficult challenges until finally, she actually did manage to kill a dragon in single combat (albeit, a small one).
This attracted a much, much larger dragon, and a narrow rescue by Ishgardian forces was still not enough to save her arm.
Down an arm, and perhaps a bit more drunk than she maybe should have been, Okhi agreed to various rather shady experiments that would make her a viable combatant again. One such was a uniquely designed magitek arm, with retractable claws and light armor plating that, nonetheless, should function as a normal limb. Another - theoretically - bolstered her aetheric capacity beyond its near-stunted state.
Having faced down a dragon in single combat - even a small one, even at great personal cost - was a feat that even Ishgard could not overlook, and finally, things were looking up. Her dream seemed not only possible, but plausible, and she trained harder than ever for the chance she might be able to learn the secrets of aerial combat.
Things did not go to plan.
Coming back to the tavern she'd been staying at, Okhi spotted a highly-ranked priest dragging a crying young woman behind him. Knowing full well what she was giving up, she confronted the man, because her sense of justice would not allow her to ignore his actions for her own benefit. He wasn't much of a combatant, and now he's missing one of his teeth, as well. On the other hand, her dream of ever becoming a dragoon fell to pieces. Although she wasn't thrown out of the city immediately, she would never be allowed into the Dragoon Order.
It wasn't all bad, though. She caught the attention of a man with a sword as tall as she was - and now, she's devoting her considerable determination and skill toward the heretical art of the dark knight.
