Personality and Quirks
This tribal Miqo'te is very reliable and loyal to the people he bands with in battle. Always trying to prove his worth to others in combat and earn his keep. His blood-lust for fighting borderlines that of sadism, always eager to spill blood upon the battle field.
S'demyx has a slightly deep, mature voice. Though still somewhat soft with his youth. He has a strong exotic accent from times growing up outside of Eorzea and frequently hisses when trying to pronounce words with "s" sounds. Causing them to come out with more of a "ks" sound instead. ((OOCly: His accent would sound something like Romanian))
He isn't too polite with others, but neither is he extremely rude. He has a very snarky and cocky attitude. A bit egotistic/narcissistic; which makes him come off as arrogant given the situation.
S'demyx has a bad habit of sizing people up in a threatening manner, often baring his teeth and growling when he feels challenged.
However, his time spent within Ul'dah upon first arriving to the land of Eorzea, has made him become a bit hedonistic in some degree. Favoring the finer things in life, like jewels, treasures, silks, and fine vintage wines. Things that he used to be uncaring about.
History
Early Years
L'khat died while giving birth to S'demyx in their homeland. After being accepted into their new tribe within Eorzea, L'demyx appropriately changed his name to S'demyx. However, his sire did not.
Like all able bodied tias, S'demyx was taught to be a huntsman. The Scorpion's favored poison tipped arrows, many children growing up to learn to be archers. But to S'demyx, there was nothing better than being close in armed combat , blood splattering across your face, and losing your mind in the throws of battle.
Upon proving himself within his new tribe, S'demyx was ready for the trial to achieve manhood. He was to live on his own for a month, and survive in the dry, harsh terrains of the desert. After succeeding, a feast would commence in his name. And would the be dubbed a man.
During the time before his grand party, he was given free reign to do as he pleased, living his final days as a child before taking on the duties of a man.
While doing a bit of exploring within the evening, he found a lone Miqo'te. He looked more brilliant than any other he'd encountered, only seeing the Seeker Miqo'te of his tribe in his whole adolescence. S'demyx believed he had never seen anything more beautiful. While stand-offish at first, they became close friends. Meeting up at their 'secret oasis' every evening when the Keeper could escape his family.
S'demyx learned much of the Keepers of the Moon then. How very different they were from his own clan. And needless to say, his curiosity turned into something more. Perhaps infatuation. Perhaps even love. Because of these 'feelings', he divulged many secrets with his new comrade. When the Keeper would ask, S'demyx couldn't help but indulge him in everything he desired to know.
The Keeper, Khama'zi, told his small group that the Scorpion Tribe would all sleep during the highest peak of the moon. With stealth, they stole into the tribe, taking their most precious of artifacts and necessities.
In the morn, when everyone found their stock and supplies missing. It was S'demyx who first realized what had happened. He returned to the oasis every eve for a week straight to confront his beloved. But Khama'zi never returned.
With heavy guilt upon him, S'demyx told the group of his unknowing betrayal. That he had fell in love with a thief and could have possibly cost them their lives. If he had committed this crime as a man, it would be punishable by death. However, still technically not a 'man', but a 'boy', S'demyx would be sentenced differently. He was stripped of the ability to attain manhood.
He was branded with an X on the center of his face to forever mark his identity as a traitor to his fellow tribesmen. Most - if not all - within the tribe shunned him. He was no longer allowed to challenge for positions of Chief or Nunh. Even childhood friends began to outcast him as not being a loyal Scorpion. Thus granting him the name "S'demyx the Betrayer".
The only way for him to be able to officially gain recognition as a man and not a disloyalist was to become one of the best warriors in the outside world. He was to bring honor and glory to the Scorpions. To reclaim the pride his name was stripped of.
Current Life
S'demyx now works as a businessman, finally starting up a rather profitable brothel out of Coerthas.
The Tia has left Ul'dah after newer events involving him and two other Miqo'te. One a jilted lover whom S'demyx hurt mentally and physically, and the other a mage of no small power whom the mercenary sought after in cold blood. - He has laid his ventures against the thaumaturge to rest, and has made Gridania his new home.
Relationships
Synopsis
The most important people in his life are his fellow clansmen, and he doesn't tolerate any down talk on the fellow Seekers of the Sun. Immediately willing to start a fight without hesitation. That being said, S'demyx is of a very stubborn sort, if someone doesn't agree with him, he will try whatever he can to turn that person on their side. Be it with force or brutality.
Player Relationships
- Waltz Concerto; Unlike anyone else in S'demyx's past, this Keeper boy has changed the Tia immensely. For the first time in near a decade, the Seeker has put down his axe and given up mercenary work for the cub, instead starting a business for his income. After marking the young kit as his mate, S'demyx and he are nearly always side by side, and the brute would do anything to defend Waltz from the hardships of the world.
- Etone Greennote; Though this Elder Seeker and S'demyx have had their spats, and a rough path of companionship and love, they some how have managed to keep their friendship alive. And the doctor will always hold a place within the Tia's heart.
- C'thaniel Nunh; S'demyx treats this Nunh like something of a companion already. Often times calling him old man, and making comments on his age just to get under his skin. (Despite him not being more than a few cycles older).
- Jael Laksha; One of the only few Hyurs considered a friend. They seemed to instantly hit off their friendship after fighting side by side for their old company together.
- Guldthota Syhrdoenwyn; The female Roegadyn and the Tia have made a pact to help each other in the art of battle. But S'demyx insists that he is the teacher, and she the student.
