Saikhan may seem shy on the outside, but her silence is due to her lack of confidence in Eorzean tongue. When she speaks, her choice of words are formal. In truth, she is unsure if anything she said is spoken correctly. With it comes her gravest flaw. She tends to mistakenly blurts out the wrong words during some conversation with Eorzean and most times misunderstands others' intentions due to inaccurate understanding of some vocabularies. Though she has a slight trust issue because of her recent stolen items, she wouldn't hesitate to help people who she finds attractive or in a weakened state.
Her distrust doesn't stop her from greeting people she met along the road. She is mostly warm and talkative to children, elderly ladies, and her friends or people she finds comfortable. She also likes mumbling words from her native tongue whenever she couldn't recall the right word in Eorzean. Curiosity might make her do something embarrassing, but she understands her limit, fortunately.

Standing on 5,4 fulms, Saikhan is more taller in height when compared to other Au Ri female, but shorter than female of other races. She possess a slim frame, one that fooled many to believe her to be a helpless woman. Her hair is often tied back into a high-ponytail, each streaks wore the same color of light brown. Her eyes are a shade lighter than soot black, decorated with a pair of sky-blue limbal rings. She was born with a terribly pale skin and often mistaken as an albino on first glance.

- ■ Childhood
- On the 7th sun of the 1st Astral Moon, Saikhan was born to a single mother residing amidst a small number of people who was once a part of the tribe known as Dazkar. They live in constant hiding in fear of encountering other tribes. Their tribe possessed extreme distrust to people outside of their circle. They refused countless of individuals who had came across their encampment for refuge even in the deadliest of nights. Any contacts with outsiders were not and never welcomed.
- Saikhan was unlike the other daughters of the tribe, in both lifestyle and mind. She was not content with the way her tribe lived: of how they move from time to time when they've met with too many individuals, and how they continue to refuse outsiders after they settle down once more. It was a tedious cycle, one that she disliked most.
- The lack of male presence in her and her mother's home made it Saikhan's responsibility to keep their home clean. She was also given proper training as a huntress, but her experience was lacking in comparison to most women in the tribe due to her constant attention fixed at home. Hunting for food was a task left to her mother's capable hands.
- Developing a rebellious side on the age of 12, Saikhan often sneaked from her home with few edibles and went in search for the individuals who was refused by her tribe. She offered the edibles indirectly, leaving them on a small bag close to where the travelers camped for the night. The next day she would return to the same place to see if the travelers from the day prior had taken her offerings, and it wasn't rare that she found the food to be untouched, but she never stopped her ritual.
- ■ An Odd Meeting
- One night when she made another attempt to offer some edibles to a traveler, she made a careless step and snapped a twig under her foot which alarmed the traveler promptly. He was a Xaelan just like her and twice as big, but he was nothing if not kind. He urged her to stay with him for a little longer and offered to tell her a story of his journey, of which Saikhan couldn't refuse as she was quite the curious child. She then found that he was capable of conjuring magic through his story and a short demonstration, and he claimed that she has the ability to do the same. He didn't elaborate further and escorted her back to her encampment, stopping on a significant distance from her home to not alert any of her tribe. He gave Saikhan an amulet as a parting gift, and left her a name to remember him by, Khalja. His last words before he turned to leave was: "One day, you might have need of the amulet.".
- Khalja's gift remain hidden from her mother, but each night before she drifts off to sleep, she would gaze on the stone of the amulet and wondered what the travelling xaela meant by his words. Each night, her question only grows.
- ■ The Turning Point
- Saikhan's life in the tribe remained the same even after she had seen 18 winters. She thought that she will live an uneventful life with the tribe until the day she grow old, but her thought was proven wrong. One night, her mother returned home with terrible injuries, alongside fewer number of huntresses who left to hunt for food. It was later revealed that they came into contact with another tribe who they assumed was Dotharl.
- Terrified of what might come next, the tribe decided to leave in a short notice, bringing only the most important of belongings. There were few of the tribesmen who volunteered to stay behind to tend the wounded, Saikhan being one of them.
- She was desperate. Her mother was the only family she had, and it didn't seem like the elderly woman would make it, at least not with any traditional means. It was then that she remembered the words that Khalja imparted her, and on that moment she held onto the amulet and attempted to conjure a spell that might save her mother- a healing spell, she hoped. What she conjured was, instead, a small fire. Shocked, she brought her hands away from her mother before the fire could harm her.
- Her mother was surprised, and so was the rest of the remaining tribesmen. As if they didn't have a bigger trouble in their hands, they started arguing about what they should do with Saikhan, who was still in a state of shock.
- They were heartless, perhaps, or only afraid of her capability. They forced Saikhan to leave, indifferent to where she would go to or if she had anywhere to go at that. The last she saw of her mother was wide-eyes of fear. Not for her life, but fear of being parted with her daughter. The last she heard was a plea from her mother to let Saikhan stay, but such was a plea unheard.
- With both of her arms held by two of other huntresses, she was then dragged away from their temporary shelter. Her vision of her mother was blurred out by her tears. Pain started spreading from her chest, followed by an anger beyond what she's ever felt before which she couldn't control. The next thing she knew, she conjured a flame from her hands. Had the huntresses didn't jump in time, her flames would have engulfed them.
- Her situation didn't change for the better. They saw her as a threat and they didn't seem like they would spare her, so she turned tail and ran. Even as she fall, even as her legs screamed in protest, she didn't stop. She didn't know how long or how far she went, she was too afraid to look back or even take a rest.
- It was a man who forced her to halt her steps, standing a distance away from her with eyes locked into hers. She felt like she had seen him before but she couldn't recall where. When she attempted to find another route of escape, she heard the man utter a foreign spell. Her body felt a sudden weight, and her eyes were forced to close. She was wrapped in a veil of spell which stole away her consciousness.
- ■ Rescued
- The first thing Saikhan saw upon awakening was a foreign ceiling. She felt a soft bed under her unlike the cots she had at home. It was warm, and she could hear the birds chirping. She almost thought she had been sent to heaven, that is until a man called her name.
- It was the same man who had casted a sleeping spell on her. Finally, she could recall who the man was. She replied with a call of his name, the man who gifted her the amulet many cycles ago, then followed by bombarded questions. She no longer felt fear, only confusion and sorrow. The memories from the night before flooded her mind, furthering her agony.
- His answers came in parts, and some of her questions were not even answered. The first was the reason of his sudden appearance the night before. His answer was short- "Fate" he said. Saikhan didn't buy it, but he wouldn't go for any other reason. The next, he simply answered that he saw potential within her, a potential to become a subject with power to protect, or destroy depending on her choice of reason.
- He offered her guidance to control her power and to conjure even greater flames, but she didn't want that kind of power. She refused and asked for something else- the power that won't instill fear in the eyes of many, the power to heal. The request was beyond Khalja's ability, but he knew a place where she could seek to trade her power in. A land where magic was more welcomed, he said. Eorzea.
- It was a land she never heard of, and with the foreign land so unknown to her, the safest idea was to refuse to go. She asked for him to take responsibility for her predicament instead- given that the amulet was the object that set her life into chaos. Khalja denied to be held responsible, but agreed to take her in with some conditions. He would only take her under his wings only for a few cycles. Until then, his plan was to convince the budding mage and prepare her to embark for Eorzea.
- ■ A New Perspective
- For moons after, Saikhan learned to live in a town with racial diversity. It was a surprise, but not a cultural difference she would refuse. She learned to speak some languages in her stay, but the language she was most interested was of Eorzean. The thought of coming to the foreign land become less ominous every time she reconsidered and even sowed hope within her. Yet one problem resides in Saikhan. Whenever she felt uncomfortable or even feel the slightest of anger, her hands would grow warm and fire would emerge. She was in need of controlling her power, and so she finally turned to Khalja to help her.
- Often times when Khalja assisted her in controlling her power, he would recount tales of his own journey in Eorzea, which feeds her with imaginations of the land once unknown. The thought did not make her forget about her mother, though she wasn't sure whether or not her mother still breath. The memory of her mother only strengthen her resolve to find a way to learn curative magic.
- It was when Saikhan voiced her desire to embark for Eorzea that Khalja asked her of her true motivation to learn curative magic. Though hesitant at first, she told her reason truthfully to Khalja- of how she desired to return home to her mother. In order to do that, she thought that she should show them she is capable of a touch of kindness. Curative magic would solve her problem, she thinks.
- It was a naive thought, but Khalja didn't stop her. He encouraged her and provided all of his support, asking nothing in return. The moment when she was about to board a ship for Eorzea, she asked him of his motive for helping her thus far. But like always, he gave no clear answer. When she inquired further, he asked her to wait for the right time.
- With that as his parting words, she boarded the ship and watched as Khalja's figure become only a mere dot. The question remained in her mind, of who Khalja truly was.
- ■ In a Foreign Land
- Arriving in Eorzea without any incident was a blessing. Truly alone in a new land, however, was overwhelming. She attempted to find her way to the conjurer's guild, where Khalja directed for he to go. But along the way, she boarded the wrong carriage and found herself in Ul'dah.
- As if the Dusk Mother saw fit to give her a test then and there, she was robbed of her possessions, leaving only the cloth on her back and her amulet. Without any gil to find herself a shelter, she was forced to find a place with the refugees and make do with her situation. Refusing even the thought of selling her amulet even when she needed the coin desperately.
- She didn't let the predicament get to her and attempted to find any work she can do in exchange for meals or gil. The jobs she found most rewarding involved defeating a certain monster, or fetching an item from a place of little safety, but with little control over her power she was forced to find less difficult works.
- ■ Present
- Saikhan found herself working in a part-time job as barmaid in a quiet tavern to save enough gil to buy back her belongings that were stolen. The low income afforded her little to no choice but to have patience. She ended up staying in Ul'dah for moons, earning what she can while looking for an alternate way to learn curative magic. Her alternative source was the adventurers who frequent the tavern where she worked, and though they provided her with ample information regarding the magic, she found it to be more difficult in practice, especially when she kept conjuring fire on every attempt.
