[edit] History Appearance Personality OOC Theme Credits H I S T O R Y From her short beginnings in Doma to her current life as an adventuring healer, Saya's life has been fraught with times of peace to distress. She remembers little of her time with her parents in Doma. Her life greatly changed when Garleans were looking to conscript more soldiers. From that moment things happened quickly and she eventually found herself in the halls of Sharlayan. There she lived with her new guardian that pushed her to learn. For nearly ten summers she studied, however, her spirit could not be satisfied solely in study. She caused the scholars much stress as she would slip from their sight to wander and explore. The nights she spent looking to the heavens led her to astromancy—lessons she finally showed great interest in. For once she felt she could provide worth via healing and reading the stars—never, to her hope, be left in the dark of events to come. As with all things, though, another chapter was to close. She remembers the shift in the stars as Dalamud approached ever closer. The emotions of everyone around her were mixed. The indecisiveness ate at her and she decided to finally leave the city and make her own way. Mayhaps she could somehow offer succor to those in need instead of sitting in halls discussing the validity of such actions. She doesn't remember much of her time as she traveled, but as she went ever more south it felt as if she was walking right towards Dalamud's door. The sounds of screams, explosions, and the smell of smoke is most of what she recalls. The rest is a blur. Currently Saya is an adventuring Astrologian, helping where she is able and exploring the great lands of Hydaelyn. She harbors no love for the Garleans and makes it a priority to foil their activities. Her most notable features are her dark eyes, long white hair, smooth ivory scales, and an uncharacteristically short tail. As an Au Ra she is fairly short in stature which only helps to accentuates her youthful features that beguile her life experience. She clearly puts effort into her self care. Her hair is silky and her skin is smooth. Both are complimented by her clean clothes and flowery fragrance. Her preference for black attire makes her white hair and pale skin even more outstanding. She prefers to wear dresses and robes that are elegant with fine details—things with ruffles and lace. She typically wears a short dress or robe with above the knee socks and short, comfortable, shoes. Upon her back will often hang her star globe. As with her appearance this device is clearly well cared for—polished to a shine. On her hip may hang a specialized sleeve for her major arcana. P E R S O N A L I T Y As youth goes, Saya is fairly headstrong, independent, and generally optimistic. She can go from quiet introspection to excited jubilation at the turn of the winds. As an adventurer she sees all sides of the world. She tries to never allow sad or angry thoughts overtake her. Many mistake her quiet demeanor often to be of sadness or even coldness, but she is a thinker and an observer. Behind those thoughtful eyes is one with a warm heart filled with loyalty and kindness. She carries a certain hope for perfection in all things. As one that reads the stars she's all too aware of the possibilities to come, which tends to cause her much to think on—good or bad. However, unlike others of her training, she refuses to reveal to anyone what the stars tell her. She would rather keep the fires of hope aflame than to snuff them out before a step is even taken. She carries herself with a certain amount of dignity and determination, which can sometimes come all undone with a clumsy slip of the tongue or misplaced step. Deep down she is still young with much to learn, despite all that she has seen to this point. She wants nothing more than to be useful, especially with her skills in healing, and seen as an equal among her peers. She has no love for war and injustice, especially when the Garleans are inbolved. She is determined to do what she can to keep those around her safe while making Hydaelyn a better place for all. I'm a longtime fan of Square, MMOs and role-playing. I've been playing MMOs since the early 2000s and I started role-playing in them not long after. While I very much love getting deep into the lore and I try my best to play a believable character, I would say that I lean more in the middle ground of the role-play spectrum. Role-play is not my only reason for playing an MMO. I like to enjoy the content just as much. For some role-play is a creative outlet, a place to share a story they planned out. I'm more here to relax and escape. So I would say I'm a medium level "immersionist." I like to give my characters a personality and background and just let them live in the world and see what comes about from my interactions. I'm very much a reactive role-player. I prefer more "conversational" style RP, sprinkled with /emotes or /ems. I rarely use long descriptive paragraphs. I like to keep the flow going at a certain semi-realistic pace. I also like to incorporate my gameplay into my role-play. This usually means my character is the class I play (lore providing) and an adventurer. I like to role-play about 70% lighthearted and 30% serious. I love to explore and appreciate the virtual worlds MMOs provide. I currently run a small RP FC on Balmung called Harmony. We have a small house and are currently just a small group of friends. We also have a couple Linkshells. Due to many leaving for other games after Stormblood, we're currently evaluating where we want to take the FC. While I can be pretty shy, I'm fairly laid back and easy going. As an older gamer with responsibilities out of game I do my best to avoid drama. Been there, seen it all, got the t-shirt. At the end of the day, this is a game. I rather spend it with kind, respectful, and fun people than deal with thin-skinned, drama-filled, edge-lords. With people I'm close to I love to tease and joke around, do my best to help anyway I can, and enjoy the games we play together.
