- Servus Lionheart, also known as simply, Servus, is a calm and stern soul. The Lionhearted gladiator-turned-paladin is renown for both his skill in combat as well as his chivalric and merciful nature. One to not talk much about his past, it is common knowledge throughout Ul'dah regarding his life as a slave before winning his freedom. Now, having found a new purpose in protecting the innocent and keeping Ul'dah safe, Servus does what he can to take on the sufferings of others to alleviate their pain. With unmistakable bright pink eyes and a long mane of hair to match his tanned skin, he is an intimidating figure... Except for the fact that he is significantly shorter than the average mi'qote, standing at a measly 5'1", something that his is quite quick to temper about. More pressingly, after seeing the degree of corruption and injustice rampant in Ul'dah, Servus realized that drastic measures were needed to combat what he perceived as an 'Endless Crusade'. Donning sets of black and supernatural-looking armor, Servus began a secret life as a vigilante operating under the name Knight of the Round, taking inspiration from the Ishgardian original. Protecting Ul'dah day and night, foiling monetarists, criminal organizations, and the scum of Eorzea, Servus lives a dual life, willing to dirty his hands so that others need not.

Often getting up in the ungodly hours of the morning for a 3 hour run to start off his day, lifting weights before and after his patrols when he's off duty, and doing aerobic exercises and stretches to stay in shape.
- As a Paladin, Servus is a fairly spiritual person, as such, he often makes his best efforts to attend the various religious services hosted around Ul'dah, though this is more on a when-possible basis than a regular hobby.
AppearanceHair/Fur: Sandy blond
Skin: Olive
Eyes: Bright Pink
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 140 lbs
Build: Athletic
- Standing at a short height, even for a normal male mi'qote, Servus looks like one might expect from a born and bred gladiator. Despite his insecure stature, the seeker has packed as much muscle as he could over the years onto his :base frame. With broad shoulders and a narrow waist, Servus is close to what one might consider peak physical condition, the result of a fanatic training regiment as well as similarly fanatic discipline. A part of him wishes that his :athletic and muscular appearance might make up for his short height, though this usually never comes to pass much to his chagrin. Regardless, his body is still in the prime of its youth despite his mind being far from it. With a warm :olive colored skin tone and sandy blonde hair, Servus is a product of the scorching and unforgiving sands of Ul'dah.
- Starting with the seeker's face, it has amassed a collection of scars from his past career, a memento from another time. Most are small, and have healed up quite well all things considered, but a notable few still remain easy to spot :even from a distance. Fortunately, Servus never paid these with much mind, instead sort of appreciating them as a reminder of who he is and where he has been. Ocassionally, if deep in thought, he'll stroke the one on his cheek as if it'll help him remember his train of thought with greater clarity. Beyond these though, perhaps the most iconic image of the mi'qote are his striking pink eyes, a bright neon color that almost seem to glow if seen through the flicker of an open flame. Calm and collected, the paladin typically has a centered and focused gaze, usually making only minor adjustments when looking at different things in a room. This, accompanied by a usual frown or furrowed brow gives :Servus's overall facial expressions a rather 'intense' feeling. In the rare instance where he were to smile however, this intensity may only be even more empowered. With his right canine chipped during a fight in the colosseum, only his left canine is fully grown, causing it to poke out over his lip slightly whenever his mouth is closed. Toss in a somewhat crooked nose from repeatedly getting broken, yet overall straight, and one can see the face of a seeker who has spent the majority of his life training to become one of the greatest gladiators of Ul'dah. With long sandy blond hair, and some cut-short facial hair, the impression of a lion's mane appears somewhat, albeit a more practical and less ostentatious version. Lastly, Servus's Voice adds to his stern, serious, and authoritative persona, deep and commanding, he takes care to speak clearly and slowly to convey his thoughts as such.
- A more in-depth view of the crusader's body tells an even more detailed story of his life, for, as Servus himself states, 'there's a story behind every scar'. It should be noted, however, that for reasons unknown to all save a few, Servus never takes off his armor when outside of his home. Not at the beach, nor out in a desert, nor in a nightclub, as such, it is exceedingly rare for one to see his regular body and, in a way, a sign that the viewer has earned his absolute trust, the right to see him in what he considers his most vulnerable state. As said before, Servus sports a body that both men and woman crave for. With broad and muscular shoulders, a V shaped back with ribbons of muscle visibly dancing about, a strong chest, and legs as strong and thick as tree trunks, Servus continuously seeks to push his body to its limits and then some. Thanks to healthy eating, his workouts, and regular paladin duties, he has amassed a physique that he sees as fit enough to serve as the vanguard for his allies and friends, protecting them from harm and taking the brunt of attacks in their stead.

BiographyPart 1: A New Dawn
- Heat, that was the earliest thing he could remember, the unbearable heat of Thanalan. He had never known his mother, nor his tribe, for he had been cast out, viewed as the runt of the litter. Sickly and malnourished in his infancy, the mi'qote seemed doomed to return to the dust from whence he had recently come, however, by either fortune or tragedy, the baby was found by a passing Lalafel and his entourage, a sheik by the name of Geshar Jasha. A high ranking member of the Ul'dah bureaucracy, the sadistic Lalafel became entranced by the child's neon pink eyes, shaken to his core by the way they stared into his soul. Deciding that such a prize would make a perfect pet, Geshar took the youngling under his wing 'saving' him from death. This one act would be the sheik's claim of supremacy over the mi'qote for much of his life, touting how he had saved the child and raised him as his own, how a good son would be loyal. In reality, the life that the seeker was born into was slavery in everything but name. Viewing the youngling as his newest pet project, and all the while enamored by his pink eyes, Geshar flaunted his 'cub' at dinner parties and similar events. Referring to him as 'The Service', due to using the child as labor for the most part, the mi'qote took the name on as his own slowly over time, morphing it into his current one, 'Service' becoming 'Servus' as a result.
- 'Service, please scrub the floors of the manor', 'Service, please entertain my guests', 'Don't give me that face, Service, if it weren't for me you'd be dead!'- words like these were common in the mi'qote's early years. Growing up in Ul'dah, Servus was conflicted in how he viewed his 'father'. A mixture of undying loyalty yet misery clouded his mind, resulting in a tragic indecisiveness that left him unable to decide if Geshar loved or hated him. On the one hand, he received a high-class education, with exotic and private tutors from around Eorzea teaching the cub the ways of the world and how to 'be a young gentleman'. On the other, the way in which Geshar raised him and ordered him was that of an indentured servant, a plaything, a pet-project. In the end, it was only through the early education he received that the child learned a skill that would define him for much of his life: how to fight. Even at the measly age of 8, Servus showed prodigal levels of skill and capability when it came to fighting and dueling. With enough training, his tutor told Geshar that the pink-eyed seeker could be an unstoppable force with a sword, and an immovable object with a shield. Amused by these findings, Geshar began to increase the frequency at which Servus met with his trainer. In this adolescent and developmental stage in his life, seeds of rage, violence, mercilessness, and cunning were planted in Servus's brain by the masterful hand of his tutors and his father. Over time, his other studies became less important to him, the orders of Geshar stung less, all that mattered was the feeling of holding that cold steel in his hands and cleaving into his trainer with as much force as he could muster.
- As the years passed, Servus slowly began to grow little by little. Although it was evident that he would not amount to much in terms of height, his sheer skill in battle and savage ferocity with a blade more than made up for this. Greatly pleased with how his pet project was coming along, Geshar eventually decided that a new avenue would please him, to see his greatest 'protege' become a gladiator for Ul'dah. All other studies were scrapped, and from then on, Servus's life from dawn till dusk was centered around the art of war. Still, much of the sadism with which Geshar treated his son remained, a reminder that no matter how strong and skilled Servus might be, he was still subservient and owed his life to his father. Even at this transitionary point in his life, in his early teens, Servus still viewed Geshar as his savior and father. Yet, as he matured, his questions began to grow and fester in his mind. He had traveled well across Ul'dah before. He had seen Mi'qote tribes, Nunhs and their children, Hyurs and their monogomous offspring, etc., and yet, never once had he felt that same love from Geshar all his life. Confused, and emotionally fractured, Servus tried to push these thoughts from his mind by doing what he now did best, fighting.
- It was when Servus was 16 that Geshar finally pulled the trigger on his project. At a banquet with the other upper-class bureaucrats of Ul'dah, Geshar wagered that his pick at the tournament tommorow would be champion. Laughing at the sheik, the other bureaucrats accepted the wager and put a great deal of money into the pot, much to Geshar's chagrin. When the tournament came around and the young seeker stepped onto the sand of the colosseum, Servus found himself transported to a different world. A wall of sound, of cheers and jeers assaulted him on all sides, he could feel every pump of his heart, the hairs on his body were standing up, his testosterone flaring up. From the moment he killed his first opponent, he loved being a gladiator. With both prodigal skill and relentless training, Servus carved a path of destruction through the competition, winning the crowd over with his status as a dark horse newcomer. It was only in the final match of this first tournament that the seeker felt an omen for his future come. His sword at the throat of an old Roegadyn, the Sea Wolf gave him a strange look of pity and sadness that stuck in Servus's mind, even years later. It was something so small, yet so impactful to him, he couldn't explain the feeling if he tried. Either way, he killed the defeated and ascended to the status of overnight sensation, winning a new family in the crowd of the colosseum, and winning his father a great deal of money in the process.
- For little over half-a-decade from then on, Servus the gladiator became a common name amongst Ul'dah. Never once defeated, the short(!) mi'qote killed those who challenged him, spilling their blood over the sands of the arena, causing the crowd to go into a frenzy. He loved it, every match gave him the same feeling of excitement and purpose that he craved. There was nothing but he and an opponent in an arena, no Geshar, no family that abandoned him, just him and someone he was going to kill at whatever cost. This purpose was not purely that of the seeker though, as Geshar found his pet-project launching him to new levels of prestige and notoriety as the mi'qote's 'patron'. For his 'loyalty to his father', Geshar showered his prodigal child with gifts to appease him and keep him busy inbetween matches. A harem of as many women as he wanted, a luxurious and large new room in the mansion, and as much free reign as he wanted. It was a golden age, at least Servus thought so, he did what he loved and was rewarded for it. Sure he got banged up and more scars than he cared to count, but they were small things in the grand scheme. At last, he felt like he belonged, like he had a purpose, like he was loved and needed by others- an entire city! He was carving his name into the list of gladiators of legend, one match at a time.
- Yet, that look of pity and sadness that Sea Wolf had given him all those years ago still remained.
- Slowly but surely, little by little, a question began to form in Servus's mind in-between fights, 'How long was this going to last for?'. The faces of those he had killed were like a blurred canvas made a mesh of colors and shapes. He fought, he killed, he went home, this was his life, and it was one that had worked for him for years now. Yet, as the years passed, this question of 'Why' began to grow and fester. That feeling of adoration and need by the crowd was his everything, his lifeblood, the stuff that made him get up in the morning, without that, what was he? Despite all the lavish luxuries that Geshar threw at him, all the glory, all the women, Servus began to slowly but surely fall into a deep and miserable state of lonliness and depression. As he matured into a man, his enthusiasm for blood and glory he had had in his youth decayed into an almost zombie-like interest. He woke up, he killed, and he went home to sleep and die. Finally, one day, he could take no more. Geshar had put him up in a match, probably the biggest of his career. Some Ul'dah upper class family had put their eldest child up against Servus in a wager for glory. Upon entering the arena, the mi'qote saw that when Geshar had said 'child' he literally meant it. The young Hyur that had been put up against him was younger than Servus had been when he started his gladiatorial career, the lad could barely hold his sword! In a few swift moves, the seeker knocked the youngling out. Famously though, and perhaps tellingly, for once, Servus spared his opponent, instead dropping his sword and leaving the arena altogether.
- The fallout of this decision was one that is shrouded in mystery. For one week, Servus and Geshar seemed to disappear entirely, holed up in the latter's mansion. Rumors abounded about what it was that the Lalafel was doing to reprimand the mi'qote, and if the sheik might have used magic to torture the insubordinate gladiator.
- Yet, after one week had passed, Servus was seen in the arena once again, this time now clad in thick, heavy plated armor. Still just as deadly as ever, Servus crushed the opposition, now showing no real care for the crowd and acting reluctantly, noticeably more pale and hollow than before. Similarly, the other upper-class citizens of Ul'dah as well as the nobles began to look more closely at Geshar's spotty past and just how Servus was treated and raised growing up. After a few more years, it was made public the way in which Geshar had treated the mi'qote, his manipulation and lies leaving the impressionable gladiator as little more than a slave. Outraged, it was deemed that the wicked sheik could either be put to death, or face his own evil in the form of Servus in the colosseum. Taking the latter option, Servus fought his final match, overwhelming the old Lalafel and effortlessly defeating him. As the crowd cheered for him to take back his life and kill Geshar, Servus instead dropped his sword once again. For the first time in his career, he addressed the crowd, claiming that violence would only create more violence, and that it took true courage to spare a life than to take one. With this, the mi'qote once again left the arena, this time, to wild and proud chants of 'Lionheart' in honor of his bravery and mercy, a move that won not just those at the colosseum that day, but all of Ul'dah's. With a simple nod, Servus accepted the last name as his own like he had the first, and finally left the colosseum as a free man with a new outlook on the world.
- The actions of the slave-turned-gladiator impressed many in Ul'dah, as well as raising the eyebrows of the Sultansworn, who in turn offered the mi'qote to join their sacred order as paladins and protectors of Ul'dah. Knowing that fighting was all he knew, and with a desire to protect rather than destroy, Servus accepted, joining the ranks of the Sultansworn. Once in the organization, the mi'qote became a breath of fresh air, attempting to reform and return the legendary order to the glory days of old, patrolling the streets and keeping the citizenry safe, as well as repeling any threats aimed at the city. Additionally, secretively, he investigated the dealings of the Syndicate and Monetarists, aiming to understand their activities and acting to foil their schemes against the sultana and her royalist party. Always wearing full armor, Servus dedicated himself to a new life, looking to find a new path to call his own, as well as trying to find out who he truly is. With a heart of hope for the future and a hindsight of his past evils, Servus awaited to greet the new dawn of Eorzea, ready to protect the weak and fight on as a shining symbol of freedom and justice, or die trying.
Part 2: Start of an Endless Crusade
- It quickly became apparent that life in the Sultansworn was a mixed bag, at least in Servus's eyes. While he savored the chance to patrol the streets of Ul'dah for crime and keeping the peace, protecting the royal promenade nor the royal treasury interested him that much. Still, as a loyal servant of the sultana and the people, he perservered. It became apparent to the Seeker, however, that the faith in his common Eorzeans wasn't as strong as he thought. After arresting a Brass Blade who had been terrorizing a local village on the orders a Syndicate member, the thug was released almost instantly, with the Sultansworn powerless to stop him due to the higher authority involved. Enraged by how a known criminal was being let walk, and how weak the order had become, Servus knew he could not stand ilde while the innocent were terrorized. It was with this determination for justice, that the mi'qote donned a suit of heavy black armor, obscuring his identity, and tracked down the Blade and his partners to a camp in Southern Thanalan. Declaring himself a Knight of the Round, inspired by the Ishgardian tales of old, Servus used his invested power as a Sultansworn to decree the criminal be put to death on the spot for his crimes against Ul'dah. Taking the law into his own hands, Servus killed the thug and his gang, finding justice in those that had been robbed of it. Deciding that drastic measures were needed to curb the power of the Syndicat and other criminal organizations in Eorzea, Servus took on this second identity as a vigilante, dirtying his hands in ways he nor his Sultansworn brothers never could. A gladiator at his core, Servus used his skills in all-manner of combat to hone his body further to take on the scum of Eorzea, as well as sharpening his mind by voraciously reading up new magics, sciences, and other investigative tools to become a detective. With his 'Endless Crusade' having begun, Servus set out to cast a shadow over the underworld, signaling that justice and retribution would find them no matter where they tried to run.
