As a quick note, play with Ta'kheo tends to push the boundaries on a variety of issues. Consider this to be a bit of a trigger warning for the following which may include graphic violence, sexual violence, violence in general, drug use, strong language, and the occasional horrible joke.

Ta'kheo Nunh (pronounced ta-kay-oh), born upon the twelfth sun of the first umbral moon (Feb 11th), was not an ordinary miqo'te as his tribe was not an ordinary tribe. As a splinter of one of the original twenty-six, the Chimera Tribe (prounounced tah) was known for their underhanded dealings. As many females did not trust to go to such an outcast tribe, many of the breeding females were stolen from other tribes. They were not valued and wooed but instead forced into their proper place of submission. Ta'kheo learned from a young age the meaning of keeping the values of one's self and family above any outside forces due to such an upbringing, twisting the young mind past recognition. He was scarred at a young age in the traditional manner of his tribe, his flesh already echoing the skin of his grandmother -- a keeper female who had been captured in the same fashion as many of the females of the Chimera tribe.
Yet, no matter the blood that was spilled, Kheo had always had an affinity for such a lifestyle. He was far more sinister than those about him, slaughtering his way easily to the title of Nunh from an early age. He lingered about for some time -- until disaster struck. His tribe had been betrayed in a false dealing that had involved half a dozen breeding females. Voidsent descended upon the tribe, and only few survived. He now travels the world, seeking out... something. Always something.

Appearance

Ta'kheo's skin was not quite so ashen as a keeper, but the darkness was unmistakable. It held a deep chocolate tone, broken only by the silvered scarring of his flesh resulting both from professional and artistic matters. A lion's mane topped his head, shining that deep auburn and gold of his seeker lineage. It was kept shaggy as Kheo was simply fond of such a casual hairstyle. Two ears, as short as any Seeker's, sprouted in a similar color. The left ear looked as if it had been a bit torn, the cartilage no longer able to support it as easily. Because of this, it often hung lower than its companion no matter the piercing or ornament; often flopping down upon the side until the tip stood level with the top of his head.
His eyes were the vivid green of Viper tribe and that of his mother -- no doubt another borrowed element as befit the namesake of Chimera tribe. They held the slight shine during the night of any miqo'te, though they often seemed much more vivid during the day. Kheo's face was well constructed, though it was hard to hide the firm angles that age and maturity had given his features. His chin and jawline was left unshaven, though such only meant a modest beard of that fiery hair was left lining his firm jawline. A few smaller, unintentional scars marred his features but none so large as the two lines carved over his cheeks towards the sides of his nose. The flesh was slightly darkened there due to an issue healing as these had been the first of many scars intentionally carved into the flesh of the miqo'te. They were a marking of the Chimera tribe, and he wore them proudly upon his face.
His body was lean and muscular as any miqo'te that thrived in battle. However, the artwork that strewn across his body was both beautiful and grotesque as each raised bump was caused by line upon line of carved flesh, building up the silvered scar tissue with each new cut.

Abilities

Physical

Intensive training with the lance from a young age has given Kheo remarkable proficiency with the weapon, though he is not normally seen with one about the city.
Talent with a knife has come from an artistic addiction in using such on his prey. He is reasonably good at fighting with smaller blades because of it, though he can be quickly overcome with heavy armor.
Due to being a miqo'te growing up in the tribes, Kheo has learned to hunt and has lived aggressively for most of his life. He is quick and agile, though Highlanders and Roegadyn can easily overpower him due to their sheer size.
Time hunting in tribal culture has given him pin-point accuracy at range with a bow.

Magical

Kheo has dabbled in a variety of magics, often gathering small bits of power wherever he could and from whatever source he can find. Because of this, he has a fluency with several different power sets.
Artifacts gathered often give Kheo access to abilities beyond his own study. He will often go to great lengths to obtain such artifacts with the belief that obtaining such would keep his tribe -- or what's left of it, anyway -- from any further danger.

Strengths

He is a sadomasochist. He thrives on pain and will gladly continue fighting under extreme duress.
Though Kheo may not be an expert on any one subject of combat, his hand in multiple disciplines and his diving into magic tends to give him the ability to surprise his opponent by quickly changing tactics.
An eloquent tongue is often a curse as much as it is a blessing. Kheo will gladly poke buttons, either swaying himself from combat or urging his opponent further on until a mistake is made.
Blackmarket dealings and striving for power to continue his tribe has afforded Kheo with access to several artifacts and 'tricks' up his sleeve. This can both be a strength and a weakness, as often such things -- when discovered -- can be used against him.
Due to needing to take care of injuries of himself and tribemates, Kheo has grown quite fluent in methods of nonmagic healing including alchemy. He is often able to do some surprising first aid using salves, medicines, and other bandages.

Weaknesses

Kheo has little to no fear of pain, often striving for it due to his masochistic side. This leaves him open to physical danger from things that he would not think to be life threatening such as by dagger or from unassuming enemies. This also tends to leave him vulnerable to the dangers of mortality such as bleeding out or poisons as he will often not bother to deflect most cuts, basking in the glory of it.
A tendency to dig his hands into multiple different avenues of power keeps him from truly understanding any of them. He will often get himself into danger by tempting fate and stretching outside of his comfort zone when it comes to certain magics. He can also often be overpowered by someone who specializes in one branch.
Kheo does not foolhardily rush into combat, but he will often gladly put himself at poor odds just to see how things end up. He can often be talked down and led into a bad situation, such as one where multiple enemies are present.
Kheo's emotional weakness comes from his history with Voidsent. He will often become a bit too emotionally invested in some ventures.
Alchemy is the only method of respite that Kheo has access to. Without access to conjuration magic, all of his 'healing' requires supplies in order to be effective. Separating him from such supplies will cause his injuries to fester just like any mortal.
Though accurate with a bow, Kheo is a trained hunter and not a combat marksman. He cannot fire many shots in rapid succession, so often times catching him in a situation where the first arrow is not enough will put him at a disadvantage.

Personality

Personality Summary:

Takstandabove.png
Flirtatious and mischievous at first glance, Kheo rarely allows his sadistic side to show so easily; though there may be a hint dropped here or there that there was something darker than what is normally let on. He is happy-go-lucky and is often quite eloquent. He is jovial even in the face of danger, though such danger is often caused by himself. There simply is no barriers or filters for the dark skinned miqo'te as he sees little issue with trying to get a rise out of people in any way possible. Because of his adoration for such conflict, he pushes and pulls at individuals just to see the reaction, often flirting with the mates of other miqo'te or taking small, sentimental possessions from those he came across. If such confrontation does venture towards violence, Kheo basks in it. As a sadomasochist, Kheo finds great pleasure in both receiving and inflicting pain. He is rarely concerned, only holding on enough that his life would not be permanently affected by injury or death. This attitude is enhanced when confronted with the reality of being a Nunh, often putting on a ruse that his tribe is expansive. He has no reservations against his actions against people, though he does prefer the finer sex to males simply due to ease of manipulation and the relative simplicity in which to control them. While he is rarely ever blatantly unfriendly, there is always a hint of maliciousness in his actions hidden behind layers of subterfuge. This masque rarely ever drops to the point that he had successfully convinced himself of his true lack of emotion due to the severe psychological trauma thrown upon him since he had been a young boy.

Biography

Note: Some items are meaningfully excluded due to still developing in play, and others are left out all together due to future planned storylines or simply because I like to continue adding things until the story is completely cohesive! Do not think this is the be-all and end-all of Kheo's history. Some of these are still very rough ideas, and will constantly be worked upon!

Tribal Life

For one to understand the history of a Nunh, one must understand the tribe. Kheo of Chimera was truly little different than many under the same leadership, after all. Chimera tribe was a splinter, born of aggression when a member of Condor grew arrogant and tired. Unable to defeat the strong-armed Nunhs of the tribe in combat, the Tia did not simply attract females to the cause but instead forced them, most against their will, to join the tribe. At first it had only been offshoots of Condor, but soon others were drawn together. They stitched together pieces of every tribe; a true 'Chimera' of miqo'te. Soon enough, an increasing amount of Tia and even the occasional willing female fell to the tribe, feeling that the show of strength was enough. From this show of strength grew a plethora of traditions that most would find naught but disgusting.
Ta'akhi Tia - One of Ta'kheo's many children.
Every member of Chimera was tattooed not with ink but with the very flesh of their own bodies. As each other tribe had specific traits due to isolated breeding, the scars were the only way to truly identify a Chimera. Scarification grew first as a tribal right but increasingly more often as a simple art form in which to decorate the bodies of those within the tribe. New designs came to commemorate large events within the life of each individual miqo'te. The Nunhs of the tribe perpetuated the traditions to the Tias that were born or that joined seeking such strength. Thus was continued as the Chimera tribe flourished and followed their prey to Eorzea.
Kheo was much indeed like typical members of his tribe. His grandmother had been a stolen Keeper of the Moon who had wandered too close to the wandering Chimera tribe only to be captured by the Nunh that sired Kheo, Ta'kheam. For two generations, that elder Nunh held the strength to breed both Kheo's mother and himself -- a foul mix, though quite acceptable in the twisted society in which he was raised. His cheeks were marked when he was but a child; two lines carved deep into his flesh so that they grew dark and vicious as the man would soon be himself.

Destruction

As cycles passed, the young miqo'te grew quite fluent in the ways of the tribe. His personality was remarkably fitting to the dark and sinister methods practiced by the Nunh, and his ability to adapt to new challenges quickly proved to be a powerful skill in which to have... Especially when his attention soon turned inward. His father had been his sole target -- that Nunh who had taken Kheo's matriarchal lineage all to himself. Deciding that the title would grant him sway far above that of a Tia would, he was quick and methodical. A blade to the base of the spine paralyzed the legs of the Nunh, allowing for a quick and easy victory the moment he held the tribe's attention. Beneath the watchful gaze of the scarred faces, he flayed his sire with steady movements of a blade, purring out with every deep slice. It was from the skillful slices that he had used which earned him the scarred filigree upon his own sides; a grisly badge of merit showing just what the youthful Nunh was capable of.
Kheo's tribe was not meant to last forever, as things of such nature rarely do. The Calamity and Battle of Cartenau meant little to the solitary tribe at first, though the destruction had spawned weaknesses within the tribal structure that simply could not be patched. Several of the Tia within the tribe grew restless, striking out on their own to gather females with little care for the well-being of the remainder of the tribe. For that, they suffered great consequences. Kheo attempted to punish the Tia where he could, reigning in control over those beneath him despite being outside of the tribe's leadership. He had been away when it happen, leaving him ignorant just who had been angered by such, but it truly did not matter. The voidsent that had been summoned channeled its masters rage. His tribe that had been formed through generations was destroyed as viciously as it had been created, leaving the tattered remnants to fend for themselves. Surely, there were others of Chimera that survived the ordeal. Other Tias had claimed the title of Nunh for themselves using the wicked teachings of the tribe, surely... Yet, with those that remained, there was only him. The Chimera tribe, however, would not die so long as one Nunh remained. It was in its nature to continue on so long as those traditions were kept.

Gathering Power

Ta'kheo in control of his first artifact: A dragon soul
Wandering had grown upon the man as the next cycles passed. He had thought to rebuild his tribe from the tatters that remained several times, but a realization came to mind: he had not the same power nor cunning as the mysterious Tia that had begun his tribe did. There was no possibility of stealing away females while still holding control over his lands and holdings. Wings were carved into his back through the most grueling process possible as he manually stretched and worked the muscles even as the lines were carved, yet still they blossomed. Power must be gained before it could be exercised, and so the hunt began.
His first acquisition was simple. Ishgard was not far from the location where Chimera tribe once stood in the mountains of Coerthas. The nearby location granted him knowledge of both the hardened Ishgarden elezen and the dragons in which they waged constant war against. Lodged at the bottom of a ravine sat a single glowing ember. Though the item itself was dormant, it bestowed Kheo still with an element of power beyond what he had once held. In obtaining the dragon soul, Kheo grew to realize the true purpose of his search: to develop upon his skills and gain knowledge of other artifacts that might increase his power and secure Chimera's rebuilding. Being far from being a dragoon in traditional terms but still obtaining some measure of power was a pivotal point, as it was the first time he realized that such relics could be bent for his uses. For five years, he had become obsessed with the pursuit as he wandered into the cities of Eorzea.

Present

Sylas Peregrine, L'Vi Lyrre, and Ta'kheo
Though he came to the cities in search of relics, it was for hedonism that he remained. Kheo stumbled upon the darker side of life within Ul'dah rather quickly, falling in with crowds that not only favored his specific tastes but who required it for their own jobs. Though he has not stumbled into any large portions of gil, Kheo finds himself using such a dirty underbelly of society to gather his own network of contacts as he strives for any further artifacts he can gather -- and, perhaps most importantly, he has fun while doing it. This has most recently come through the personas of L'vi Lyrre and Sylas Peregrine. An alliance with these two have yielded remarkable results, providing him the first true feeling of companionship since his tribe was demolished. As time progressed, he developed an exceptional ability for staking out those that were useful to him, sowing his seeds of discord and manipulation through people by realizing what it is that 'they' needed and being more than willing to provide.
Yet, not all was perfect. There were elements to himself that needed to be altered. Business and pleasure always rolled into one for the Nunh, as they had been one and the same for all matters within Chimera. It was a Hyurian mindset that he was forced to adapt... especially as he grew closer to L'vi as time passed. The woman was brilliant in so many ways. She fed into him in every aspect, coaxing out his dark side while improving those elements of him yet to be worked upon. It was with kind words and vile acts that he called her his 'companion', though their relationship was far from monogamous. They were two sides of the same coin, each bearing the title 'monster' even as she lingered in the arms of the Highlander. Their polygamy was cemented even further with the coming of Avaline Starsong. The woman had been just one to taunt for some time, whispering the words 'good girl' into her ear whenever she behaved. 'Kitten', he called her, and a kitten she was -- far more youthful and innocent than what he had been used to. Affection grew for the woman, and slowly he began to realize that, in the back of his mind, he was already reconstructing the Chimera tribe that he had lost.
Ta'avaline Kihl
An... accident of sorts was made with L'vi approximately two weeks after Kheo began constructing Chimera once more. The woman had been a strong player in his life up to that point, but increasing pressure upon her -- and jealousy of the new lover her partner Sylas had -- caused her strength to waver. She delved into alcoholism. Kheo gave her two weeks to recover, assisting her where he could until a final meeting with L'vi in the gutter of Ul'dah ended their relationship with a flurry of harsh words that broke the woman, sending her scampering out of the city to take refuge with the Drake tribe. Though Kheo visited her once more as she recovered from her alcoholism, there was considerable love lost between them. What last Kheo heard, she had returned to Viper... and, in truth, Kheo was glad for it.
With such complications out of the way, Kheo continued to work upon his goals. Avaline Starsong took on the name of Ta'avaline Kihl, bearing the tag of Chimera and taking on the surname of her sire to adapt once more into Seeker culture. In order to replace the alliances lost, he turned his eyes towards the partnership that had begun to grow with the White Wolf Syndicate. Taking on the mantle of 'healer' fully, he thrust himself into the organization fully.

RELATIONS

Sexual Attraction Romantic Interest Platonic Love Good Standing Poor Standing

L'vi Lyrre : A woman that had once been his beloved had fallen into the depths of herself and became all but unusable for Kheo. As she sought pity, Kheo attempted to fuel a fire within her to find that strength. She faltered, and he pushed until she broke. Last he heard of her, she had returned to Viper tribe -- though some say she was walking the streets once more.

Avaline Starsong : Having taken the name of Ta'avaline Kihl, Avaline had become the woman most important to him as her strength came to the surface. She is his first mate and the alpha female of the reborn Chimera; a true lioness whom he valued most.

Sylas Peregrine : Kheo's relationship with Sylas was a constant battle. As the man ventured away from L'vi as well, Kheo found himself seeing the man less and less. It was for the best, after all. Sylas deserved happiness.

J'azhar Tia : Forever, Kheo had lusted after the prettiest creature of Jaguar... Yet, when the fangs of Chimera finally showed, any alliance that he may have held with the man of negotiable affection disappeared. Now, little is exchanged between them aside from forced smiles and broken glances.

Ha'dhami Cehtov : Dhami despised Kheo for a long time as he came onto her quite firmly. He discovered her mate's business, and through her he intended to truly advance his own causes... Yet, Dhami found herself in trouble time and time again. At first, Kheo had protected her out of necessity... But, now he had begun to hold a fondness for the redheaded girl. Despite his flirtatious demeanor, he is the first that Kheo feels a familial attachment to and a willingness to protect despite a lack of romantic bond.

Xheja Rajhera : The Keeper female is a bit of an oddity for Kheo as she truly doesn't have access to anything that he wants. She has become an amusing conversation partner with a bit of dangerous conversation mixed in. The woman seems far more intelligent than his typical fare. Because of this, he keeps her at arm's length, never pushing as far as he does with others.

Cyreed Phayr : This woman would never trust Kheo. Her dislike for Seeker males were too strong, and should she find out he is a Nunh, things would be disastrous... And yet, as Kheo found his way into the White Wolf Syndicate, the two became unlikely allies. We will see how long that lasts.

Keldion Aergwilf : The mate of Ha'dhami, also known as the White Wolf, is the leader of the rag-tag group that Kheo found himself lingering about. Holding little trust for Kheo and his forceful ways, he is one of the few individuals that Kheo desires friendship with.

Sylvan Rain : A Roegadyn female is not a force to be ignored, and Sylvan has shown herself to be quite powerful in the past. However, his friendship with the woman that towered over him was one that still required time to blossom. Either way, it was difficult to hide the lust he felt for the Hellsguard warrioress.
