Beneath her cold guise however reveals a drastically different entity. Yenh is actually well-spoken and mature, genuinely kind and knowledgeable; at times she can also be a spectacularly impulsive character. Possessing an affinity for learning, knowledge, and new experiences, Yenh quickly becomes absorbed in the company of books and entertainment no matter how mundane, suggesting that she's easily amazed or impressed. Secretly a needy creature, Yenh is prone to feeling lonely and holds an unconscious desire for regular affirmation or companionship. Although she's normally aloof and cautious around strangers, among good friends Yenh is open, easily trusting, and gullible--a very exploitable detail. While slow to warm up, Yenh is eventually willing to dispel her defenses and past pretenses in order to become vulnerable with another.

Background — Nonosu Nosu
Prologue — The Nosu
With their travels heading east, the Nosu became particularly fixated with the Black Shroud, a massive forest region surrounding Gridania. However, for their greed and ignorance they paid dearly; as outsiders that foraged whatever they could find, the "woodwrath" of the Twelveswood elementals came upon the tribe harshly in the form of natural disasters and destructive inimical encounters. It wasn't until the Nosu stumbled upon (and eagerly befriended) the Moui, a peaceful Keeper of the Moon clan dedicated to the Twelveswood's preservation, that the forest would relent its attacks. Already holding interests in the bountiful resources of the Black Shroud and grateful to the clan's discipline in curative conjury, the Moui and Nosu met under the watchful gaze of the Wood Wailers and established a non-aggression pact, an unlikely union between Miqo'te and Lalafell for their mutual benefit. For nearly three decades, the two factions would end up frequently communing for both trading and healing.
However, the great martial existence of the Nosu tribe would rouse the vengeance of the various tribes they've defeated over the years. After leaving the Shroud's sanctity with uplifted spirits, the Nosu were ambushed by a coalition force comprised of six tribes which vastly outnumbered even the massive militant force of the Nosu. Though defeat was nigh but guaranteed, the warriors of the tribe mustered every ounce of their strength and bravely fought at their prime despite the impossible situation presented before them; the tribe itself simultaneously made an effort to preserve their bloodline by sending their civilians in every corner of the realm. On that single day twenty years ago, the Nosu tribe ceased to exist; their able-bodied members killed in action and its citizens dispersed across Eorzea. Although such a callous atrocity occurred along central White Maiden, an area which every State holds jurisdiction in, the barbarous event was stifled as yet another regular conflict between tribes for the sake of maintaining public order in the wake of steadier invasions by the Garlean Empire. But the Moui do not forget.
Background (cont.) — Yenh Moui
NEEDS REFINEMENT/SUBJECT TO CHANGE -> Soon realizing the abrupt demise of the Nosu tribe, the Moui took it upon themselves to permanently adopt Nonosu. However, raising a Plainsfolk in a Keeper of the Moon setting was difficult. After much consideration, the clan made it a rule to pretend that Nonosu was a Keeper Miqo'te to prevent her from feeling unwelcome; she was now to be known as Yehn Moui, but was unable to spell her name properly at a young age and stuck with "Yenh", to which the clan begrudgingly yielded to her whims.
[NEEDS MORE HERE /CHILDHOOD & CONJURY TRAINING] Growing up, Yenh did repeatedly feel a lot of unrest however. As she grew up alongside other KotM children, she increasingly became more insecure as her playmates gradually grew much taller than her and their Miqo'te features more pronounced...
The "providence" the adults of the clan were so interested in was more of a curse than a blessing to Yenh. As a Lalafell, she was unable to handle the aether that used her body as a conduit. Fundamentally, Yenh was a master at forming aether and spells, but when it came to its application, the result would often times be disastrous. She also held the quirky effect of physically feeling the pain of those she healed with conjury. With the emergence of these odd traits as she matured, the clan forbade her from using conjury at the tender age of ten; it far affected her health and well-being too much. Losing her purpose in a renowned clan of conjurers, Yenh left her home less and stayed close to her foster mother. Yenh would begin to develop a major insecurity complex about herself and formed an unapproachable shell around her. For the next two years, Yenh obediently performed her menial duties as a Moui. Though a normal child wouldn't typically worry about expectations, as someone that once had great things expected of her, she now merely drifted along discontented. Unable to understand at the time, Yenh was also not allowed access to certain places in the camp, specifically ones that contained knowledge of the world outside the forest. This was almost unhealthy for Yenh who held a spectacularly curious nature.
It wasn't until the Calamity hit when she was 12, an event that shook the entirety of the Twelveswood and left Yenh dazed and frightened, that destiny really spun for her. When the rumbling finally stopped and the normally bustling forest lay silent, a panicked Wood Wailer had arrived for the Moui, carrying an urgent missive from the Elder Seedseer. The Moui's immediate aid was required in healing the casualties from the Battle of Carteneau. The elders specifically forbid Yenh from going; she was instructed to stay at the camp with her mother. Being the curious Lalafell she is however, Yenh sought answers: What event was so dire that it required the presence of the entire clan? Using her small form to her advantage, Yenh managed to conceal herself among the light luggage of the Gridania-bound caravan, but is discovered half-way. Unable to spare any more time to return her to the camp however, the Moui reluctantly brings her along, praying that Yenh doesn't discover more than she is supposed to. When they arrive, they soon realized their prayers were not met. Although Lalafell are rare among the Twin Adders, Dunesfolk comprise a sizable chunk of the Immortal Flames, and Plainsfolk fill up the bulk of the Maelstrom's ranks; surprisingly, all three Grand Companies manage to slip away to Gridania. Yenh was immediately reaffirmed about the suspicions she held for herself. It was obvious all along: She wasn't simply different as a Keeper of the Moon, but she wasn't a Miqo'te at all. The clan, witnessing Yenh's shocking revelation commanded her to stay on the caravan, but she runs away without any pursurers; the situation was too desperate to spare any more time.
Stumbling into the Maelstrom camp, Yenh was among both lightly injured and fatally wounded now. Realizing the critical conditions of the patients around her, Yenh hesitantly unveils a small wand out of her robe's pocket and brandishes it once more. She decides to at least try to numb the pain of those suffering the most, fully wary of the effect conjury has on herself. Drifting in and out of consciousness from the acute pains she was experiencing herself as a result of her conjury, she at least manages to identify herself as a Plainsfolk by comparing her features to the Lalafells around her. Eventually collapsing from the crippling pain, Yenh held an unfamous feat for stabilizing the conditions of a few patients on the brink of death that day. With their duty complete, the Moui, and Yenh, return to their camp where she lay in a coma for a full week. With the magick reserves of the Moui tribe severely weakened after the strenuous emergency treatments in Gridania, the clan was unable to treat Yenh. However, the only person that ended up staying behind that day, Yenh's mother, jumped at the opportunity to heal her daughter. After a full week of being in a coma, Yenh would eventually recover, though her mother and the rest of the clan were still drained.
In the days to come, the Elder Seedseer regretfully announces an irreparable damage to the health of the Twelveswood as a result of Dalamud's descent and Bahamut's awakening. Having fully relied on absorbing aether from the Twelveswood, the Moui tribe would eventually fall from grace as a reputed clan. On top of that, Yenh was incredibly distrustful now of the Moui tribe. After her full recovery, she demanded an extensive explanation from the elders of the tribe; she has never been witnessed raising her voice so much before. Although the elders initially dodged her questions, they gradually relented and told Yenh great stories about the Nosu tribe and the circumstances behind her birth. Not so much in disbelief as she expected, Yenh stormed out furiously and returned to her mother, demanding more answers from her even though she was on a sickbed. Although Yenh's foster mother lied to her with benevolent intentions, Yenh could not fully appreciate or forgive the reasons. Even though her previous interactions with her mother were kind and almost sisterly, she was now cold and indifferent. Yenh would remain aloof and bitter throughout the years.
Without anymore reason to restrict knowledge from Yenh, she was allowed to do as she pleased. Already holding a natural affinity towards learning and knowledge-gathering in order to satisfy her curiosity, Yenh found contentment in traveling across the Twelveswood to read lengthy books in solitude or listen to mundane entertainment by travelling bards. At the age of 16, Yenh discovers a tome detailing the fundamentals and application of thaumaturgy. It wasn't until she decided to practice that Yenh realized her mistake. Upon invoking fire-aspected aether to gather into her palm, it suddenly swelled to an unstable size and burst violently, nearly burning down the entire Moui camp, and also leaving a child with non-severe and treatable burns. Highly regretful of her mistake, Yenh promptly stifled her curiosities in the other disciplines, realizing that her aether control was drastically worse than it was two years ago and would continue to get worse.
