Physical Description

Tyll'a has somewhat dusky skin, one blue eye and one empty eye socket (which is usually covered by an eyepatch), and blond hair.

Personality

Tyll'a is a Miqo'te of few words. His time in the wilds of La Noscea weighs heavily on his head. For those who he considers friends or family, Tyll'a will travel to the ends of Eorzea to help them...

History

Kithood

Tyll'a was born in Limsa Lominsa. While Tyll'a was an infant, his mother, arcanist Tyll Starr, botched a summoning, causing her son to be completely cut off from his aether. As a child, Tyll'a grew up with his older sister Ayu, but it was hard for him being the only Starr that couldn't use magic.

When Ayu came of age, she moved to Gridania to train in the art of conjury. That was the last Tyll'a saw of his sister, as shortly afterward she died at the Battle of Carteneau. Tyll'a's life got even worse soon after, as Tyll went out to sea to chase some pirates and never returned.

Into The Wilds

Having lost his entire family, Tyll'a fell into a deep depression. He left Limsa Lominsa and started living in the wilds of La Noscea. He lived in the wilds for almost five years, until he heard some news from Limsa Lominsa: Admiral Merlwyb was planning a remembrance ceremony for those who died at Carteneau. This gave Tyll'a a feeling that he had not felt for years: hope. He knew that his sister would be remembered, and he went to sleep that night with a large weight taken off his shoulders.

As Tyll'a slept, he had a dream. In that dream, Ayu appeared and told her brother to go to Gridania. Thinking that it was a prophecy, Tyll'a left the wilds of La Noscea and moved to Gridania. There he found Ayu's chocobo, Nightstar, and quickly befriended the bird.

A New Family

After some time wandering, Tyll'a and Nightstar found the Shroudwolf Clan. Seeing a chance to once again be among family, Tyll'a joined the Clan.

After some time in the Clan, Tyll'a took in a young Seeker named E'tifih Wolf. The two developed a father-son relationship, which was soon made an official adoption, and E'tifih Wolf became E'tifih Starr.

Voidstarr

When someone looking like Ayu entered the Shroudwolf Den, Tyll'a thought it as a dream come true. However, it was not Ayu, but a voidsent known as Mimikani. Mimikani knocked Tyll'a out and took him with her, tormenting the stubborn Miqo'te as she drained his aether. If it weren't for the intervention of the Shroudwolves, Tyll'a would have died within the week. As it was, though, Tyll'a, still under the thrall of Mimikani, fought his rescuers. A blessed arrow spelled the end of Mimikani, and Tyll'a, now able to access his aether, returned to the Wolves.

Reunions and Injuries

When E'tifih was banished from the Shroudwolf Clan, Tyll'a thought his son dead. Thankfully, he learned during a mission to Gyr Abania that that was not the case. He finished the mission, including a fight against a Garlean scientist, but not without a cost. Nightstar was seriously injured during the fight, and Tyll'a didn't escape unscathed either. As Nightstar recovered, Tyll'a went to a shrine to Menphina in the snowy region of Coerthas, to pray that he wouldn't be too late. As he returned from the shrine, Tyll'a faced a Garlean that confused him with E'tifih. After a short fight, Tyll'a cut off the Garlean's sword hand and left him bleeding in the snow. It was a mistake the stubborn Miqo'te would come to regret.

Tyll'a and his mother Tyll traveled to Doma to try to find E'tifih. And find him they did; however, he was badly wounded. Since no healer in Doma was willing to treat the young Miqo'te, the Starrs returned to Limsa Lominsa, where they found a healer to treat E'tifih. But their peace there was short-lived, as the Garlean Tyll'a had fought in Coerthas had returned, and he would settle for nothing less than the death of the Miqo'te that had taken his hand. He would have gotten that wish, too, had it not been for the timely intervention of Tyll and the healer Krydryss. But Tyll'a was still badly injured, having permanently lost some use in his right arm.

A New Path

After Tyll'a recovered from his injuries, Tyll started looking for someone who could help her son relearn to fight. And she found someone: Josuke Yoshitaka. Tyll'a quickly grew to see Josuke as a mentor and friend, and eventually even as a father figure. But Tyll'a's own father would soon enter his life, as Tyll'a took up his father's sword and soul crystal. Unfortunately, this would not last.

Kugane

Knowing that the trouble in Doma was likely far from over, Tyll'a and Josuke traveled to Kugane to gather intelligence. Tyll'a's fears were proven true, as a Garlean-aligned Doman lord still wanted E'tifih dead. And worse, the two found the Garlean scientist that had almost killed Nightstar. Tyll'a gave into his anger at the Garlean and attacked, which would prove to be a mistake. The Sekiseigumi quickly arrived and threw both Tyll'a and Josuke in jail pending execution.

Though Tyll'a was rescued from that situation, his troubles were far from over.

Exile

Tyll'a knew that he had broken the Shroudwolf Clan's laws when he gave into his anger in Kugane. He turned himself in to the clan's elders, and did not make any attempt to defend his actions, even though he knew he would likely join his son in banishment. And he was partially right. Instead of a permanent banishment, the elders decided to exile Tyll'a until he could learn to control his anger. The stubborn Miqo'te fell into a depression. Whereas before his exile, Tyll'a would have gladly fought to defend those he cares about, he was now reluctant to do so, in fear of hurting the people he was trying to protect.

The Dark Moon

Tyll'a's exile caused the stubborn Miqo'te to believe that Tyll and E'tifih were all he had left. He started drinking, and soon found himself asleep on the streets of Limsa Lominsa. But when he woke up, he was anywhere but. As Tyll'a was sleeping, pirates from the Dark Moon Clan captured him and carried him to their Lair. There, Mira Moone, High Matron of the Dark Moon Clan, promised him family and security - exactly what he felt he had lost with his exile. But Mira had no intentions of actually keeping those promises, instead intending to enslave the stubborn Miqo'te. Tyll'a almost went willingly to his enslavement, but a very angry Tyll, along with a group of adventurers, invaded the pirates' Lair and rescued Tyll'a. It turned out that Mira was a kithood rival of Tyll's, and simply wanted to see her suffer!

The White Pegasus Guild

Tyll'a led the Starlight Company to merge with the White Pegasus Guild, the group of adventurers that had saved him. Josuke, the leader of the Guild, even became like a father figure to Tyll'a. And Tyll'a even found a girlfriend, a Keeper named Fyr O'rahatia. However, the good times were not destined to last. A Seeker by the name of A'ljhin Tia started trying to tear the Starr family apart, attacking every member of the family as well as Fyr. Since the Guild didn't do anything to stop A'ljhin, even after the Miqo'te took Tyll'a's right eye, Tyll realized that it was not safe to remain, and the Starr family left the White Pegasus Guild.

The Present

Tyll'a currently lives with his mother, his son, and his fiancé, and though he has overcome his depression, he has not yet recovered from his eye injury. Still, he is once again the stubborn Miqo'te that he was before his exile, although that stubbornness is tempered by Fyr's words of reason.

Employment

Following in his father's footsteps, Tyll'a was once an adventurer. However, his latest injuries have put an end to that career.
