♦ APPEARANCE

Face:

Eyes:

Hair:

Moxie prefers to keep her hair down. It would lay flat and lifeless down to almost past her rear. She was born with a darken purple shade with shocking bright pink highlights. This hair she would hide during more stealth operations or when she finds herself slipping into Garlean bases to steal parts for her inventions. As of late she has cropped her hair due to the fact a part of her hair got stuck in her airship engine and ripped. To level it out..she has cropped her hair.

Body:

Moxie's figure is lean and curvy though well toned. She keeps herself modest in clothing to cover the full body tribal tattoos filling her back and flowing over her right arm. A tribal dragon tattoo can be seen in the mix of the decorations to wrap around her arm while resting his head on her shoulder. She enjoys the heavy lifting of her mechanics, so her small frame may have the strength to rival a Roe. Her tail is long, slender and muscular. She has been known to whip and pierce things with the sharp bards at the end. Usually though, her tail is only used to hold her lunch while she works. Hardly ever used to hurt a person unless its for sparing.

COMBAT & WEAPONRY

A woman who prefers to split her focus between a variety of combat styles, and who has a great deal of experience to draw from, she spends a hefty portion of time honing her body physically, but also her mind. Much of her strength comes from the raw muscle she has built, but she supplements herself heavily with her magic to further reinforce her body and increase her capabilities. When pushed, she can be quite the terrifying combatant. Her husband claims rightly that she is the strongest between the two of them in terms of physical capabilities, and freely brags about some of her past feats, such as punching through a mechanical construct which could rival the Vanguards of the Garlean Empire. While she's very well rounded in terms of abilities and proficiency, she's also not mastered any one thing, except maybe eldritch Conjury, and by extension deeper forms of the magic thereof, picked up in her self-study.
OOC Note: When it comes to unavoidable combat RP, I'm willing to go with either Dice, or Freeform, depending on what's decided on by those of us fighting. Because of the inherent strength of the character due to her aetheric condition, she actually avoids combat as frequently as possible, preferring intimidation to outright conflict, or quick disabling as opposed to dealing heavy damage. Scarring and beating her extremely is plausible and acceptable, however death requires permission if it seems as though it's headed that way, and so long as it doesn't conflict with any OOC plans I may have made, she can be temporarily killed, though don't expect it to be lasting, given her aetheric condition and other fail safes she has in place. Please feel free to shoot me a /tell at any time during a RP if you have questions: communication is the most important thing in conflict driven RP.

MAGICAL TECHNIQUES

Rather than considering herself a 'mage' of a specific type, Glioca likes to think of herself as simply a 'Magus', and extends her study of magic into all fields, constantly seeking ways to multi-cast, or utilize a variety of spells together in ways which are outside the conventional method of thinking. She has been practicing magic for a long time, since longer than she took up physical combat, in fact, and works tirelessly to combine the two. Her eventual goal is a unified magical theory which brings all forms of spellcasting under a unique and singular umbrella.
Glioca possesses some skill with each of the unique forms of magic: Arcane Summoning (Arcanima), Astromancy, Bardic, Black (Thaumaturgy), Dark, and White (Conjury). Her eidetic memory aids her greatly in the practical use of Arcanima for strategy and summoning her aether into physical form. Her manipulation of Astromancy is a much newer skill, as astronomy was always her core focus, the woman choosing to read fate rather than manipulate it. She practices an older form of Thaumaturgy, taught to her by her husband, A'rklonn, and in truth, at times her Arcanima, Conjury, and Thaumaturgy are nigh indistinguishable. There are some noticeable differences, however, in the way she utilizes each type of magic. Because of the cross-over between the respective skills, she is that much closer to unifying her magic into a singular form, which she refers to as All-Magic.
A past history with astronomy as a practice before she discovered astromancy, Glioca has some limited, but growing skill with the Sharlayan practice, as it has been offered in Ishgard, and within the tomes she has taken to studying. She tends to be less accepting of 'fate' as a blanket term, and instead refers to each draw of the cards as choosing one more step on the great road that must be walked. She is not as capable with bardic magic as she is with some, though like with astromancy, her skill expands as time goes on, as she wants to add the unique chants and spell-songs to her skill set.
If you had to clarify Glioca's singular strongest independent magic, it would be the art of Conjury, which mingles in many ways with Thaumaturgy as she practices it. She is adept with Ice and Lightning, and far less so with Fire, finding the element difficult and often painful to manipulate. She has taken to the darker magics of Thaumaturgy with great ease, and approaches the darker arts with what she feels to be appropriate reverence and caution. This does not, however, extend to her use of dark magic, the kind that uses the finely honed rage that bubbles just under the surface beneath her usually calm exterior. She has a deep well of inner darkness to draw on, and this is most apparent when she is practicing dark magic. She has spent more and more time working with her husband on void magic, leaning to treat the void as another singular source of magic, rather than the forbidden and negative connotations it currently has. This research is, of course, mostly private, and she keeps her dabbling with the void very restricted after the incident that happened to her atop the Crystal Tower, before it was closed off from access.
Glioca has been a Conjurer since her youth, and after arriving back in Gridania for the first time since before the Calamity, she ended up seeking out the Conjurer's guild. Years of prior study gave her a keen edge, though she was somewhat surprised to see how much the magic had changed since she first began practicing the art. She has since learned how to utilize conjury in ways that many wouldn't expect, hyper-reinforcing her body, an act that provided a greatly boosted endurance and agility. Coupled with her already keen mind, this has given her a leg up, as it were, into the art and indeed, its long history. Many of her notes on Conjury, and indeed White Magic, come from the depths of Amdapor, and she works to uncover the lost White Magics practiced there, and similarly, those practiced by the Allag. Her study is slow, as is her study into All-Magic, but she makes steady, if inching progress, when it is her focus.

FIGHTING STYLES

While not a combat master by any stretch of the imagination, Glioca does have some at least cursory skill with a number of weapons and fighting techniques. She has trained over the years with a number of different mentors and masters all across the world. As such, she has an array of skills that can at times seem unique or foreign to Eorzeans. She fights in a very dramatic way, primarily because that's the way she was taught, but also because she likes showmanship. She will not however, hesitate to fight dirty when fighting anyone. Her skills, of course, vary based on how long she has spent with each of them.
Her skill with the bow is one that never truly developed past the basic skills required to draw a bow and hit a target a distance away. Unfortunately, her strength often gets the better of her and this leaves her with more snapped bowstrings than it does arrows in their targets. She has never met a mentor with the patience enough to teach her, nor has she found an individual who would suggest to her the use of a composite bow so that she might better utilize her strength without wrecking her bow. Somewhere, in the basement of her home in the Goblet, there is a pile of bows that have been snapped in two when her patience went with them.
She is familiar with several bladed weapons, and has some skill in the use of daggers, long swords, short swords, great swords, and additionally, axes. Her skill with daggers is still quite sub-optimal, as utilizing two blades has never been one of her better skills. She typically prefers to fight with a single blade, rather than two, and this puts her at a disadvantage with the smaller weapons. The lack of range is never the problem so much as the speed she would need to utilize in order to use the weapons to their greatest effectiveness. When it comes to axes, her lack of speed is precisely what she needs, and while her movements aren't exceptionally swift with axes, the raw power she puts behind her strikes more than makes up for it.
Long swords are where she excels in terms of bladed weaponry, having spent more time working with those than she has short swords or great swords. She is capable of utilizing either of the two, but again, those aren't her preference. When she was still Meallaire, she spent some time in the Gladiator's guild, training with the sword and the shield. She eventually sought out the training of a Free Paladin, though that isn't how she would prefer to spend her time fighting. While her skill with a sword is passable and she wouldn't hesitate to take someone on with a blade, her skill with a sword is still inferior to that of her husband, who has much more extensive training with swords of all styles. She has gained a greater degree of skill as time has passed, even to the point where she'd temporarily hung up her staff in lieu of utilizing a sword and shield.
She has some skill with polearms, though much of her training came from a few brief years working with Lancers in Gridania many years ago. She could never be a lancer in truth, and while she could dress the part and has learned the skill of jumping, she'll never be a dragoon, not without a serious mentor who is willing to teach her their fighting techniques. Even still, she doubts she would be capable of focusing herself into the discipline that is required for the fighting style. Thanks to her time in Othard, she has some skill with ninjutsu, though many of her skills are very rusty, and not precisely what one would consider 'adept'. She's currently attempting to relearn the skills she once had, but as with every other field of study, it goes slowly because of the amount of time she would require to dedicate to it in order to achieve true mastery.
Still, if you had to pick one type of combat that Glioca truly excels at, it would be hand-to-hand. She knows a number of martial fighting styles, both styles that would be familiar as far as Doma, and as near as Ul'dah. Her movements are precise but incredibly strong, and this is probably the most dangerous method of fighting one could engage her in. She considers using a blade as imposing a handicap on herself, and rarely puts her blade away for this very reason. She knows an array of fighting techniques that range from battlefield control to disabling and killing techniques. One of the most dangerous abilities she has learned is a technique to reinforces her strikes with her own aether to use them to counteract a persons ability to channel aether, either from outside, or through their body. This effectively cuts mages off at the knees, and in someone else who utilizes chakra or chi, such as a monk, or a practicioner of ninjutsu, it cuts off their ability to channel these skills as well. She is limited, however, as it requires these strikes to land very precisely in order for them to be effective.

OTHER SKILLS

She has a number of other skills that, while applicable for combat, are less frequently used by her. First and foremost among those is her skill with machinery. If it clinks, clanks, makes noise, or can somehow be used in machinery, Glioca can use it. She actually adores technology and uses it as liberally as possible, both in her day-to-day life, and in other cases. She often seizes and re-purposes Garlean technology for her own uses. She created a magitek guardian for the shop, a small Ultima weapon statue that fires off a condensed aetheric quad-Fire III if triggered. She's currently working on a smaller sized bullet for the weapon, so there's less of a chance for damage to the shop, as opposed to just hitting the intruder. It's a work in progress. What is not a work in progress, however, is the small Allag node that she re-purposed into housing a mammet core, which serves as an artificial intelligence companion when she's working in her laboratory. This node keeps most of her notes for her, and otherwise behaves exactly as one might expect a mammet to. A major pain in the ass.
When it comes to stealth, Glioca isn't much of a stealthy individual, though she does have more skill than one would consider her to have. She tends to blend into her environment more than she does going unseen. More of a hide-in-shadows than true stealth, she's working on improving her skill with this ability all the time, even if she is a bit slow (and generally bad) at it. Despite this, she's got some experience with sleight of hand, though a master would obviously be able to spot her failings a malm away.
One of the other skills that she fosters is actual medical knowledge, and not just the type that a spell can weave away. Having served as a battlefield medic with the Adders at one point in her life, and having been the only doctor for a time in her home in Othard, she has a good grasp of anatomy and physiology. She can do everything from set bones to birth children to triage on the battlefield, and has even performed reconstructive surgery coupled with her conjury. Her mastery over her own body is very adept with a combination of medical know-how and magical intuitiveness, and she utilizes both to great effect.

RELATONSHIPS - PC

RELATIONSHIP STATUS LEGEND
Family Platonic Involved Romantic Passionate Physical Friend Acquaintance $ Business Deceased Positive Negative Neutral Unsure Enemy
FAMILY
A'rklonn Sargonnai, Husband. ( ) - The Black Phoenix.
Glioca's Thoughts: "We've been together for over a hundred years now. We've shared parts of ourselves that we could never share with another. We wandered and traveled the world together, and we came home and formed a family. He's not my first love, and he likely won't be the last, but to me, he'll always be the other half of my heart and soul."
While not her first love, A'rklonn is the love of Glioca's life, and the one person in all the worlds that she'd willingly walk into the Void for if something happened to him. Despite whatever other relationships they have had, Glioca and A'rklonn have a long and lasting bond that has carried them through trials, tribulations, and their children, with a fourth on the way. While she does not openly say so frequently, she both envies her husband for some of his life experiences, and admires him for his endurance and persistence despite all the ill that has happened to him during his similarly long life. She could think of no one else she would choose to spend her existence with.
Vaelen Sargonnai, Son. ( ) - The Day without a Night.
Glioca's Thoughts: "I love my son, but he's hard-headed, and makes some very foolish decisions. So, essentially, he's young.."
One half of the twins born of Glioca and A'rklonn, Vaelen is the more impulsive of the two. There is no doubt that Glioca has a more open affection for Vaelen than Aelden, if only because of the time spent together in Vae's youth. The two regularly engage in physical training together, with Glioca passing on some of her sword techniques to Vae, and Vae constantly challenging and pushing her harder as she grows more and more proficient with physical combat with a weapon. With Vaelen comes his wife Arkhiss, a Duskwight woman who Glioca is fond of. The two have a sometimes physical relationship that is a holdover from Vae's youth.
Aelden Sargonnai, Son. ( ) - The Night without a Day.
Glioca's Thoughts: "He's the more quiet of the two boys. I've never gotten along with him quite as well as I do Vae."
The other half of the twins, Aelden is the more sedate and laid-back of the two boys. Glioca and Aelden are not as close, though they have similar hobbies and interests (the study of magic, especially). Glioca often sets Aelden to task at magical research and development of his own style of combat.
Siduris Sargonnai, Son. ( ) - A Broken Shield.
Glioca's Thoughts: "He was a good man. I still mourn his loss."
Siduris came to the family through odd circumstances, via his wife, Alupia, who was also intimate with Vaelen and Aelden. When the group split, Alupia abandoned the family, with Siduris staying behind. Glioca was closer to the younger man and had a very deep respect for him. His loss was a bitter blow for her, and she keeps his broken shield tucked carefully away with her more prized possessions. She hopes that he wanders somewhere still, not dead, but living a better life. She may never know the truth of it.
Anthya Sargonnai, Daughter. ( ) - The Librarian.
Glioca's Thoughts: "I've never seen anyone read through the Ossuary so quickly. Or be so disappointed with its contents."
Glioca adores Anthya, one of the eldest of her adopted children. The affections between the two are often warm, sometimes teasing, sometimes competitive, but most often cooperative, especially in regards to scholarly pursuits. They share a love of books, tea, and continual expansion of knowledge.
Ellemeare Sargonnai, Daughter. ( ) - Hopeful Heart.
Glioca's Thoughts: "If you had told me the day I met her that I'd call her daughter one day, I likely would have called you a liar. Never have I been so happy to be proven wrong."
The most recent of her adopted children, and in fact, one of the last of them, Ellemeare is a girl that they met by circumstance, who has quickly become a treasured part of the family. She's one of the most recent that A'rklonn and Glioca have adopted. She finds the girl to be intelligent and intuitive, if a bit easily embarrassed. The two share a great affection and warmth. There is a definite physical side to their relationship, and perhaps a bit of a romantic side as well, though that isn't the focus of their relationship.
Sora Ashenblade, Granddaughter. ( ) - The Blade.
Glioca's Thoughts: "Ellemeare adopted this girl, and I'm quite glad she did. She shows a great deal of promise, and is quite dedicated to her path. She also adores my cooking, and I'm happy to spoil her."
Sora first came to the family as Shin, using an assumed name, and Glioca readily adopted the girl into the group. The two speak often on many topics when they're together, and Glioca's always making some Doman dish or another for the young woman. She enjoys being able to utilize some of her older recipes for the girl. There's a great deal of respect between the two, if not also familial love.
Charinelle Sarrasin, Granddaughter. ( ) - Shining Beacon.
Glioca's Thoughts: "I didn't expect her to come over from Othard. Her parents are failing, their lifespans nearing their ends. I will miss them all the more when they are gone, but she is here, and so they'll live on."
She's Glioca's youngest grandchild, and she doesn't have much experience with the young woman, the girl having just come over from Othard in the wake of the Garlean Empire toppling Doma, but she looks forward to growing to know her better.
NON-FAMILY
Vierdyn Faucaux, Retainer. ( $ ) - Glioca's Falcon.
Glioca's Thoughts: "Vierdyn is my servant. He doesn't want for anything he needs, and in return, he takes superb care of me. What I feel for him is a different kind of love."
No one is quite sure where the male Duskwight came from, only that he's often either at her side, or lurking about the Phoenix Estate. He's a very quiet individual, and also the solicitor employed for legal matters in the Free Company. He tends the day to day bookwork for the shop run out of the front of the Manor, and often helps when the Company gets themselves into a pinch. While the relationship between the two isn't precisely romantic, there is a very passionate love that Glioca feels for him, one that steps outside the realm of lovers and into the realm of a devoted submissive at his Mistress' heels.
Katja Hoax, Sort-of-Daughter. ( ) - Messenger Girl.
Glioca's Thoughts: "She's an interesting young woman, with great potential. Now if she could only realize it."
Glioca met Katja through A'rklonn. She and the young woman have spoken several times, and while she is an undercurrent of attraction there, her greatest desire where the young woman is concerned is to see her succeed at what she does, and to better herself. The young woman is damaged, and Glioca's mothering nature drives her, as it always does, to try and 'fix' it. There's a physical component to their relationship, but everything else is still developing, and only time will tell where they go from there.
Aedan Steelweaver, Friend. ( ) - Kat's Highlander
Glioca's Thoughts: "He's an interesting man. A flirt and a charmer. He's got a rough nature I can appreciate, and Kat loves him, so that's enough for me."
Glioca met Aedan at a party hosted in the Goblet, and the two know one another through Katja. She finds the man to be interesting, and there's a budding friendship between the two of them, with banter passed easily back and forth between the pair. She's physically attracted to the man, but that's not unusual, considering she's a fondness for Highlanders to begin with.
Tallera Weaver, Apprentice. ( ) - Star-girl.
Glioca's Thoughts: "Tallera is a sweet young woman with a thirst for magic that reminds me greatly of my daughter Anthya. Were circumstances different, I'd have been happy to count her among my children. Now if she could just get her head out of the clouds."
Glioca met Tallera through her husband A'rklonn, and the two had an oddly close relationship despite the amount of time they spent distant from one another. Glioca respects Tallera's grasp on magic, and she knows that there's a definite attraction to her on the part of the Hyurian woman, and in the past she was happy to indulge. Her greatest concern with Tallera is usually whether she's eaten whatever day she sees her, and if she's taking proper care of herself. Tallera was A'rklonn's apprentice, and to a small degree, also Glioca's, but time and circumstance seems to have changed that.
Syranelle Ironleaf, Acquaintance. ( ) - Little Syra.
Glioca's Thoughts: "When I was introduced to the woman, I never expected to have a past history with her. Nor did I expect her to be a girl I had once cared for. I look very much forward to knowing her again."
The pair of them first met a number of years ago, when Syranelle was still young. Glioca, or rather, Meallaire, spent time training at the hand of her mother, Vivenne. For seven years the two were thick as thieves. When Meallaire departed quite suddenly, called into service for Gridania, the two lost contact, and have only recently reconnected. She knows the woman is likely cautious of her, and she cannot blame her for being rightly guarded. She hopes that they can once again grow close as time passes.
R'tahz Tia, Acquaintance. ( ) - Boy with a Lance.
Glioca's Thoughts: "He didn't have the usual glazed over look I see in the eyes of many miqo'te males. I think their relationship is going to have a very long shelf life."
Glioca met R'tahz at his wedding to J'karu Rhome, after being given an invitation by an elderly gentleman in Coerthas. Curiosity prompted her to attend, and the two are only casually acquainted, though Glioca got a very positive first impression of the male.
J'karu Rhome, Acquaintance. ( ) - Hugger of Cactaur.
Glioca's Thoughts: "She's an interesting young woman, and the two of them made a beautiful couple. I hope their love lasts."
Glioca met J'karu at her wedding to R'tahz, after being given an invitation by an elderly gentleman in Coerthas. Curiosity prompted her to attend, and the two are only casually acquainted, though Glioca got a very positive first impression of the woman. She is in the process of creating a Sabotender Bailarina plush for the female miqo'te.
Erimmont Chevalier, Former Lover. ( ) - Shroudheart
Glioca's Thoughts: "I loved him. I cast him away to save him the pain of my death, only for him to find his own."
Glioca shoved the man away when she thought her demise was approaching. She burned her bridges, but hoped he'd live a long and full life. Sadly, fate rarely works that way.
Emeraven Stormrose, The Ex. ( ) - Useless Woman
Glioca's Thoughts: "She did my entire family a disservice. I'm thankful she never dropped her own name. I should have expected things would turn out that way, though. I truly should have."
Once upon a time, Glioca and A'rklonn were in a relationship with Emeraven, who was also quite close to their daughter Anthya. It all ended quite poorly, with the Elezen woman only belatedly finding out about the Miqo'te woman's infidelity. Since then, she goes to great lengths to avoid the woman. While she's moved past what happened, it still leaves the taste of ashes in her mouth to recall what occurred. She considered the woman an enemy for a short time, but she finds it difficult to muster even that, instead feeling pity for the woman, and whoever has the misfortune to end up her next partner, as she knows the woman's affections are fleeting at best.

RUMORS

Some of these rumors are untrue, speculation, or are greatly exaggerated.

◢ Common Rumors - Easily overheard. Use these freely!
"Oh, the lady w'the white hair? Brings us bread some mornins'. Gives 'em to us after havin' us haul a couple little boxes across town. Anyroad, she's nice enuff." — Ul'dahn Refugee.
"Always orders the same thing. Jenever, she calls it. Smells like a bloody Starlight Tree. An' wot's with that little flask o'hers? Red liquid, spikes the drink all the time. Bad enough she doesn't just call the stuff Gin. Hmf." — Quicksand Barmaid.
"Sure, I've seen her around. Every time she drops by the Knight. Rarely drinks, barely eats, just listens for hours at a time, 'fore leaving again, that sword on her hip. Always looks cold when she goes out. Not chilled, you know, just... cold." — Patron at the Forgotten Knight.
"Give that woman a hammer and she can forge anything y'want. Don't seem to get tired much either. Technique's kind of rough, though she's willing to take on big orders. Been a huge help." — Brithael, Blacksmith's Guild.
"I simply adore working with her hair. It's so pale, it picks up any color she wants with such fantastic ease. She's become something of a regular." — Jandelaine.
◢ Uncommon Rumors - A little more difficult to hear. Use sparingly or ask first!
"She's got an inventive mind, and a drive to constantly push the boundaries of what we think is possible. She'll go far, of that I'm certain." — Severian.
"I met that man of hers first. Tall fellow, scarred, dotes on her. I bet there's an interesting story behind those two, if you know what I mean." — Momodi Modi.
"She weren't no new hand 'round a stove. Treated every dish like new, an' learned every lesson nice'n slow. Every dish made like it was a treasure, n'matter who it was made for. Made these great little candies, too, sells 'em round 'er shop in Ul'dah." — Lyngsath Doesfalksyn.
◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using!
"Glioca? Diligent with her study, but something about her sets me on edge. Those eyes of hers are too old to belong to someone that young." — Cocobuki, Thaumaturge's Guild.
"Someone told me she was a lady of the evening. Can you imagine the shame of it?" — Ishgardian Noblewoman.
"She definitely knows how to work a piece of wood to an exquisite finish, that's for certain." — Beatin, Carpenter's Guild.
"Sometimes two souls love each other to a point that they lack an adequate way to express it. It becomes easier to express any number of other emotions instead. I see that, when I look at Meallaire and Jeulerant." — Argenia, Wise Woman.

◢ Player Character Rumors - Some of these are more rare than others!
"Just because I know a little magic doesn't mean I'm the one you should watch out for. My wife is an absolute monster when it comes to combat. Everyone worries about me, but she's the scary one." — A'rklonn Sargonnai.
"You're an idiot." — Anthya Sargonnai, whenever anyone mentions doing anything against Glioca..
"Oh... yeah, she came to our wedding. I can't really say I know them that well. Er, no, I don't rightly know why they were there. But! Anyroad. She seemed well enough, a bit unusual and mysterious, but kind and pleasant in the way you'd expect of someone who holds herself with that kind of poise." — J'karu Rhome.
"I know she dislikes my kind, and I understand her reasons. I respect her quite a bit, and am deeply appreciative of what she does for Erimmont... I'm not used to feeling intimidated, but I can't deny that she's pleasant company all the same. Additionally, her culinary skills are absolutely divine." — Kiipa Nulstat.
