Her homeland. Large cities confuse her. Outdoors, finding your way home is so intuitive. In the city, you could walk a mile in any direction and still not know where you are. ■ Climbing. There's something freeing about a precarious perch and a better vantage point, and climbing is a great way to get there, as well as a great outlet for some extra energy. ■ Running. Masisi is fast on her feet, despise the short legs. She loves to be moving. ■ Scars. To Masisi, scars are a story. They are a reminder of where one has been, and what one has overcome. They are a badge of pride, not a symbol of defeat. A full life is one with scars. Masisi has none, and she feels quite sad about it. Dislikes ■ Being lonely. Though most people will say that they don't enjoy being lonely, Masisi is particularly sensitive to feeling alone. She grew up in a tiny, close-knit community, and it breaks her heart when she smiles and says hi to passersby in the markets, but they don't even look her way. She has no qualms about approaching strangers for meaningless chat, but being turned down is an unfortunately frequent experience. ■ Being out-of-the-loop. Similarly, she is not used to being outside of the lives of others. She hates whispering and closed conversations. People who won't tell her things are the worst. ■ Sleeping on the streets. Though Masisi is quite capable of camping and making do with street-sleeping, she much prefers the luxury of a roof and bed. Quirks ■ Carry me. Though Masisi is energetic and capable of her own locomotion, there's no sense in turning down a willing sentient mount. People are surprisingly open to toting lalas around. ■ No boundaries. Quite a tactile person, with no shame in touching and being touched. Though there's nothing overtly sexual about her and her mannerisms, the (lack of) distance can still squick some companions. ■ Traditional. Though Masisi is up for anything, her strength shine in largely traditional situations. She cooks hearty meals with grease, starch, and butter, and is a welcoming homemaker whenever she gets the opportunity. Anything in her reach can be mended, comforted, or cared for; and in that way, Masisi has a certain simple charm about her. Appearance There's certainly nothing to be desired about the Lalafell body. She admires those with longer legs to run with, longer arms to climb with; this isn't to say she's unhappy about herself, however. She's been herself for all her life, and she will be herself for the rest of her life-- she has no intention to want otherwise. Her light green eyes stand out against heavy, dark lashes; against dark skin, with dark freckles; dark hair. Perhaps they're her most notable feature, aside from her stature. Her hands are about as clean as they could be, considering she climbs non-stop. She doesn't fear dirt, though she does fear soiling what little she has. History, abridged Born in the provincial lands of an island in La Noscea, Masisi Masi is by no means a diamond in the rough. As a future adventurer, one might expect her have been exceptionally intelligent, or skilled, or ambitious, but... there was truly nobody more well-suited to be forgotten among the labors of rural life. Masisi was content to this life, as well. When the calamity threw her tiny shire into a state of despair, she began to feel a pull towards something new; somewhere fresh and safe. She cried as she left home, and she still cries, but she is determined to know what purpose her life holds. Her mission upsets her more than it excites her, but she feels a kinship with The Spinner that eases her mind. She is open to her tasks, so long as she feels she is not alone. She had once understood her draw towards The Spinner to be in reference to her contentment with her life, like a spiritual thank you for putting her where she was meant to be. Now, Masisi understands her relationship with the Spinner to be more like a blind trustfall. Relationships NPC Crunchy ( Personal Chocobo ) Aptly named for his rather... distinctive... eating mannerisms. Masisi is a simple folk, and doesn't care that Crunchy is not capable of anything special. Surprisingly friendly, as Masisi likes to hand-feed him. She thinks he's funny. PC Rivaer Pelderain ( Friend ) She enjoys his well-mannered attitude. He lives and works with a sort of intelligence and grace that she could only wish for. She doesn't mean to pry, but it's clear they came from very different upbringings, and it only makes her curious. K'naji Tia ( Friend ) She cares not where he came from; she isn't one to judge, and that isn't her stick to shake, anyway. She admires his wit and determination; he does so well for himself... She gets the feeling he may be troubled, however, and she wishes she understood. Masisi loves to learn and praise, so if your character has any sort of skill that she can fawn over, any normal meeting can easily transition in that direction. ■ Want to (try to) be taken care of? Although lacking in healing ability (though I often roll a d20 to determine her success) Masisi is more than capable of good old-fashioned care. Wounded adventurers, mercinaries, sellswords, etc. are her specialty (no matter how uncooperative). Dont be afraid to be mean to her, either! ■ Want to defend someone? Masi, bless her heart, is much more capable of avoiding enemies than fighting them. This goes for both monsters and sentient folk. ■ Want to be bothered? No occasion is needed for Masisi to prance up to even the scariest being and chat. If nothing else, Masisi is a pro at pestering, and this is always an option.
