Niklas Geno Gran（ニクラス・ジーノ・グラン）Nikurasu Jino Guran, nicknamed Nik（ニック）Nikku, by friends, is a player character on the Balmung server. Niklas is a master swordsman from Ala Mhigo, which was invaded by the Garlean Empire (22 years before ARR) He stands 5 fulms and 10 ilms tall, which is moderately tall for the male Midlander Hyur. He also has an unique healing factor inside of him, healing wounds quickly by themselves.

Niklas Geno Gran

He has a medium tan skin with sky blue-colored eyes, brown hair, and good muscle tone. He prefers to wear many kinds of clothes, so currently he does not have a signature clothing. Niklas has a pure heart and an benevolent & compassionate nature (both inherited from his mother), hating war for the deaths, misery and agony it comes with. However, he has also shown to be quite arrogant and hot-blooded; some consider it a split personality, but in truth, he just gets excited and hyperactive. Despite being born in nobility, he feels more comfortable around the common folk.

Biography

Backstory

Niklas was born to a Paladin father, Croix, and a White Mage mother, Selene, in Ala Mhigo. He truly felt at home around nature, tending to the local animals. However, 22 years ago, the Garleans invaded. He and his family left as refugees running away to find a new home. He absolutely loved how beautiful the rest of Eorzea is. The Grans then sent out to start a new life in this land, safe from the Garleans. He wandered around the land of Eorzea with his adopted sister Rena during the Sixth Astral Era, although he was sometimes hidden among the masses. During the Calamity, his parents were two of the warriors that fought in the battle in the name of the Eorzean alliance, and were also two of the many that fell to Bahamut's Mega Flare. Niklas and Rena both mysteriously survived the Mega Flare from the Primal Bahamut, however they were both separated as a result of the Calamity. For five years, and for the first time, he was truly alone in the realm. Eventually, five years later, he started his adventures anew, taking him all across the reborn realm. Currently he wishes to start a new life, and to reunite with her lost sister. He doesn't know, however, of the latent power in him inherited from his mother.

Present

Niklas once worked with the Harbingers of Dawn for a time, but they had a disagreement and he left. Now he wants nothing to do with them.

A Pest Problem: One of his first adventures. He went to Toto-Rak, along with Franz Renatus, Obsidian Hornet, and Rasamya Hakara, to save the sylph elder, Frixio. He was the leader of the group, who led them to the end of the prison and fought alongside them, and in the end, they completed their quest.

Beginning of a Legend: After the quest, Niklas founded his own free company called the Gran Knights, a free company similar to the Greil Mercenaries from Fire Emblem, fighting for those in need, sometimes for the coin. Their first adventure, with Niklas, Aaron Glacier, and Xuri Tia was defeating a giant turtle that has been terrorizing the townsfolk in Western Thanalan.

RELATIONS ♥ Romantic Interest    ♥ Platonic Love     ● Good Standing     ● Poor Standing ●Talyn Shadowmoon: A female Hyur Midlander that Niklas found in the streets near the Quicksand. She is an aspiring thief and assassin, and one of Niklas's best friends. She stayed with the Gran Knights for a while before leaving, but not before Niklas christened her an Honorary Knight and gave her the task of spying on the Regnum Garlemald. ●Xuri Tia: An outgoing male Miqo'te Niklas met near the Quicksand. He is one of the founding members of the Gran Knights, given the rank of Brotherhood, the third-in-command to Niklas. He is not as active as the others, and when he is, he doesn't usually stay for long, but he is still an important part of the Knights, and a great friend. S'imba Tia: An energetic Mi'qote and a friend of Aaron and Niklas. He was accompanied by them during a visit to the Kobold stronghold. He slipped off the edge and Niklas tried to rescue him, but he couldn't and Aaron called him weak in return, causing an argument to erupt. S'imba returned and stopped them before they fought, just in time. Before leaving though, Niklas asked S'imba how much does he truly know Aaron. ●Aaron Glacier: An ex-pirate of the Glacial Wolf Pirates. Described as the lancer to Niklas, he found him in the Quicksand, and became one of the founding members of the Gran Knights, given the rank of First Tsurugi, making him Niklas's second. He may be stoic, but that overrides when he parties! Niklas also won a high-quality sword from him after defeating three golems at the same time, before Aaron could find his sword, as part of a "friendly" game. They have once fought before, beating Aaron twice, even when he was dual wielding, which brought him into moral depression and generated animosity in him towards Niklas, thus a rivalry was born, as Aaron seeks a rematch, but Niklas is worried about him. Later while at the Kobold stronghold, Niklas finally confronted Aaron on about his attitude and calling him weak, and then Niklas called him a pirate, which almost unfolded into a fight if it weren't for the intervention of S'imba Tia. Other Facts Niklas is not fond of wine. He once got drunk after he drank a whole bottle. Niklas is not the smoothest when it comes to women. He gets nervous and heats up inside. Niklas is not that fond of riding in vehicles, preferring to ride on his chocobo, Choco. He carries an oak flask made by his sister, Rena, which he holds dear. His personal sword is named the Calibur, and it is a sword passed down to him from his father, Croix, who once wielded it. He has his own Limit Break, Gran Strike, which consists of a ruthless barrage of slashes and strikes from both his sword and shield, with a few punches and kicks as well. He also can take it further, adding "Version #" to the end to signify how much stronger it is than usual. In truth, the Gran Strike is powered by Niklas's innate power from his mother, which gives him a huge amount of aether inside. Player's Note: Niklas's personality is based off of Marth and Chrom from Fire Emblem, and Son Goku from Dragon Ball, all of whom are heroes.
