Personality
- Nao naturally has a cold, unapproachable demeanor. She is short-spoken and seems distant and uninterested; sometimes she is, but she also just doesn't want to get to close to others. She had gotten used to the idea of not having any family on Hydaelyn and decided that loving and trusting people would open her up and make her vulnerable which is the last thing she could ever want in her line of work. Sometimes she gets lonely and watches the interactions among others with envy, but she's able to push that feeling away relatively quickly. Those that do convince her to let her guard down and get to know her will see that she only wants to protect herself from getting hurt. They'll also learn that she truly believes the work she does is for a good reason, and she will not tolerate anyone messing with those she loves.

Family
- Noboru Mori - Father [DECEASED]
- A Doman man constantly running from what he deserves. He committed many terrible crimes and dragged his family with him while he fled. Despite this, he was a decent father and Nao loved him; she could have been considered a daddy's girl when she was younger. However, she grew up and did her research about her father after hearing rumors about him. She decided his present life should end and, after the Calamity, killed him so that his soul could return to the lifestream and he could have another chance to be a decent person in another life.
- Rose Mori - Mother [DECEASED]
- An Eorzean woman who grew up in a loving family. She became a dancer and was employed one night by Noboru for a celebratory gathering, not knowing his background or the terrible life he led. He forced himself upon her and she was made to marry him when she discovered that she was pregnant; the decision was made to protect Noboru, Rose's family, and the child. Nao didn't know her mother well, as she was a very quiet woman due to being repressed by her husband for many years. She died during the Calamity, hardly remembering the feeling of true love or happiness.
Friends
- Nikolas Synclair
- A midlander Nao met in the Quicksand. Originally he approached her with the intent of hitting on her, but they talked for a long time and eventually became friends. They vowed to have each others' backs and let the other know of jobs when they came up.
Acquaintances
- Leon Lionhearte
- Nao and Leon worked together on a few missions once she decided to continue her line of work as a mercenary/assassin. While she wouldn't call him a friend and certainly doesn't trust him enough to talk to him about her past and personal life, he has come around to keep her in line and stand up for her every once in a while. They work well together and she doesn't mind his company in the least.
- Chip Wayman
- Nao met this young monk in the streets of Ul'dah when he approached her and asked her to join him as a hero. They talked back and forth about what she did and how he wanted her to change her ways. It escalated into a spar in which, much to her surprise, Nao lost. The fight ended with her possibly having a broken sternum from one of his surprisingly strong punches. While Nao doesn't particularly like him, she does respect him and sees him as an equal rather than a child or younger brother figure. She believes there are some things he needs to learn about the world still, but he seems honest and pure and she admires that.
- Blazerro Draken
- Because Nao lost her spar with Chip, he made her give up her most recent job. As she spoke with Leon at a restaurant about her lack of gil because of this, Blaze offered to give her gil. She refused to accept charity but said she would work for it. After giving her and Leon a task and them fulfilling it to his satisfaction, he became a steady client for the two of them for various tasks. Nao is grateful to him for allowing her to prove herself as a worthy mercenary.
- Lorentz Rivers
- Lorentz approached Nao in Ul'dah thinking they may have met before, but they passed it off as just having seen each other around Ul'dah. After some talk with him, he offered her employment should odd jobs ever come up, or should his employer ever need the help of more mercs. She enjoyed his company and found him to be a very kind man, and she looks forward to working with him in the future.

History
- Nao was born in Gridania, but was whisked away to Othard shortly after her birth due to crimes her father committed. Growing up in Doma, the midlander adopted customs of both Eorzea and Othard. Her father pushed her to train as a rogue when she was a young girl, telling her that she needed to protect herself in case angry men found their home and wanted to separate them. Being a daddy's girl, she did as she was told and did her best to learn how to use her daggers. Roughly 16 years later, the family moved back to Eorzea under different names. The reason was never known to Nao, but she suspects her father committed more crimes in Doma and fled from justice once again. Throughout the six months before the Calamity back in Eorzea, the girl overheard a man speaking of her father. She decided to do some investigating about the claims made and found her father to be a horrible person; lying, stealing, and killing for money. In his prime he was a well-known thief and was known to mistreat women. Nao found that he had forced himself upon her mother and, upon learning that she was pregnant, made her marry him in a loveless marriage. She vowed to take action against him, but before she could, the Calamity fell upon them. The family was separated, but Nao searched for her father among the ruins of Eorzea. Upon finding him, she learned that her mother hadn't survived. Despite him being the last of her family and pleading for help to rebuild their home, Nao ended his life and left him to rot in the wastelands of Ul'dah. She realized how much she enjoyed the feeling of ridding Hydaelyn of scum and became an assassin, taking jobs on the condition that she agreed the person in question needed to be released back to the lifestream for another chance in another life.
