Even if it's frowned upon, one must progress."-Malevic Lucas Malevic Lux Lucca (Mal-le-vic Lux Lu-ka) is a Young Half Garlean Scientist, set on discovering new ways to manipulating Aether and bending it to his will. His work being rather morbid, making him find little friends in his field of study. Carrying a book of all his morbid, yet horrifying notes from his experiments, and a book from his studies as an Arcanist. He pursues a dream where the world can evolve passed death through Aether, like the Ascians. He was forced to flee Garlemald after aiding his brother Kal'theon, who was of high rank in the Garlean Empire's Legion, free a prisoner of the Garlean Empire. Agreeing to change their name to Malevic Lucas, and Kal'theon Lucas. Dropping their middle names. Malevic is currently one of the Research Scientist for a mercenary Free Company known as the Night Blades - recruited only recently into their ranks by the second leader of the Companies research division Lias Ahrgo. Presently, he resides in the company's headquarters located in the Lavender Beds. However, he could also be spotted loitering around Idyllshire, reading over his notes or studying by the fountain. CURRENT INVENTORY Book of uncompleted Notes - Simply a book of Malevic's morbid experiments or a other experiments down when he served the Garlean Empire. Spending most of his time indoors with his nose stuck in books or in ruins, He doesn't get the opportunity to be out in the sun that much. Though with his kind of tone and traits chances are that he burns more often than tans. Hair: Pale White, and neck-length; cut so that it won't drop forward towards his face when he is looking down. Eyes: Eyes are a pale ice blue. Body: Tall for a Midlander, Malevic proudly stands at 6 Feet 2 inches. His body is very toned, no fat nor pudge sticking out anywhere, namely because he trains and eats a healthy diet. Giving him a slim body. Additional Features: Malevic is normally a clean man unless he's working. He wears a pair of rimless glasses simply because he cannot see well without them. He has no body marks and a fair bit of chin hair. Clothing Style: Malevic loves fine tailoring, He simply cannot leave his Free Company Quarters without looking fancy, Though he modifies the clothing so they can suit what he's currently working on, weather it be archaeology or working on a lab. Even his lab coat is fancy. . That being said, Malevic is more often to be caught wearing a form of tie, or a suit (much like the sky pirate coat of casting). Though under his hard shell of a lonesome scientist, however, he's a calm, yet friendly man, who cares deeply of his work and doesn't wish it to be ruined by personal relationship, emotions, and ties. Having lived the majority of his life in Garlemald, he registers in his mind that he is full Garlean, thus giving him that Garlean pride everyone so truly hates. He has the accent of today's queens English. Though hiding the fact that he is Garlean to all. In addition, Malevic is shown to display a lot of over-confidence in himself - going so far as to demeaning others for their lack of knowledge. He has a bad habit of ignoring others who annoy him, and killing a few that do the same, using their bodies as an experimental tool. Malevic also may come off as unintentionally flirtatious towards others, regularly complimenting those that he takes interest in though not realizing it himself. Upon getting to know Malevic better, one might discover his soft side to nature. His love for the outdoors and climates brings the man peace. They also may find him a bit sensitive when he is in this state, in his love for bonding with animals, they may also see he can be a tad poetic. This behavior is mostly found on him when he finds himself thinking he's alone in a forest. Or if a favors ones company. Additionally, Malevic's lack of friends may have him feeling a bit lonely at times, though the feeling is quickly looked over by his need to learn. All in all, Malevic is Calm in nature, always ready to achieve new heights, and stubborn to his field (meaning what ever he studies he will always assume he's right and anyone else is wrong). Skills and Combat File:Malevic3 Weapons + Combat Styles Arcanist's Tome - Malevic's primary choice in having to use a weapon would be the the spell his spell book. As an Arcanist he prefers it much more than anything else. He sought the Arcanist Guild in Limsa to aid in his studies for Aether Manipulation. Bettering him as a Arcanist. A Large Dagger - This is Malevic's last resort weapon. He uses this weapon when either his enemy is to close, or he wishes to fool someone into thinking he submitted. The weapon is usually latched onto the back of his belt or pants hidden under what ever jacket he wears. Out of sight, and used rarely. Staff - A secondary choice of weapon. Malevic prior to being an Arcanist he was trained to be a Thaumaturge by the Garlean Empire shortly before becoming one of the lead scientists for them. Picking up Arcanist to better himself in Aether Manipulation. Rarely ever carrying a staff on him any longer, basically abandoning it, pursuing his love for being an Arcanist. History Mid-teen to Early Twenty's "Do not worry brother, we will show them we are to be feared." -Kal'theon Quo Lucca. File:Malevic5 Malevic's story starts with his father, Julius Tol Lucca, forcing him, his two brothers and his sister into the Garlean Military at around the age of fifteen. Their father being a high commanding officer in the Garlean Empire no doubt didn't expect any less of them. They went off to become officers in the field they signed up for. Exceeding their fathers expectations. Held low only because of the fact that they had much to prove as the half breed of their race, going based off his brother's constant reminder that they'd soon show those who teased them for their lack of a third eye, that they will be feared. Malevic soon found himself separated from Kal'theon many times. Only to see him when he would return from missions. Malevic found himself with his sister more often than he would want. His sister being one to exceed him in everything he did, and teasing him for it. Following in his footsteps more often than not. Even going so far as to become a chief magitek technician and a scientist for the Garlean Empire, as he did. Studying everything he did, simply to rub it in his face every time she surpassed him. They'd eventually find themselves bickering among each other when stationed together in the same lab. Even fighting on occasions if the argument would go to far; Only to have it suppressed by Kal'theon several times over. Malevic's deep loathing for his sister and her teasing is one of the reasons why he dislikes having a partner to work with or people around while he works. This was also around the time Malevic started to look into the manipulation of Aether. Though he did so behind closed doors with no one around. This fascinated Malevic, and he wasn't about to let his sister ruin this for him. He was willing to reach what ever lengths to do so progress in this study. As for his brother Salvator, Malevic lost contact with his younger brother shortly after joining the Garlean Empire he was never very close to either him nor his sister. In fact no one with in the Lucas Family knows what came of Salvator. Kal'theon being the only one to hear Adrian deserted on a patrol, nothing more. Though for the twins Kal'theon and Malevic, around the age of twenty-two, the life in empire soon came to an end. Kal'theon returning from a mission grew feelings for one of the prisoners he had captured, asking Malevic for aid in freeing her, when she was put onto the table for experimentation. Malevic knowing such a risk aided Kal'theon in devising a plan for her freedom, Kal'theon being Malevic's favored brother. Doing as planned Malevic freed the woman, and in doing so joined Kal'theon in his desertion taking a ship to Limsa Lominsa. Both agreeing to change their last names to Lucas, and dropping their middle names. their original being Lucca (Lu-ka). Though in an unexpected turn of events a pirate attack on their ship lead them to being seperated yet again. Finding himself in Ul'dah and in an environment unlike his own, a strange environment. Childhood "Obedients. Discipline."-Julius Tol Lucca Prior to being in the military they were raised by a Doman mother and a Garlean father. Both of which loved them very much. Though some favored more than the others as most parents can be. The mother caring of the children. Sheltering them from many things, their father however didn't like this of their mother. He wished for the kids to grow an independent life, leaving them arguing many times of their childrens futures. Though the couple loving each other unconditionally many times after the arguments. Though evidently the father got his way. Raising the kids in a strict environment. Kal'theon growing up with a sword in hand and Malevic growing up book smart. The other to kids Val and Sal both came later, thus giving them the opportunity to choose how they would be raised. Valerie craving knowledge, just as Malevic. Their youngest brother Salvator was raised as their mother wanted. Cradled and kept from the three. Salvator was the youngest and protected by the rest. Though grew up to be distant. Malevic would receive a lot of teasing from Valerie, she always craved tried to impress him however the case. But the more she would try the more he resented her, leading up to more of a sibling rivalry as it is now. Her trying to impress led to her one upping him each time, Aggravating him every time she tried correcting him. The passed three years "For Science." -Malevic Lucas File:Malevic6 Upon arrival in Ul'dah Malevic started a quest to find his brother Kal'theon, with little to no success in the matter. About half a year in searching and familiarizing himself to his surroundings he simply stopped. Mourning the idea that his brother may have passed away on the ship. Though not stopping him from pursuing his idea Aether manipulation.He sought out the Arcanist Guild as mentioned before, hearing wonders of them being able to do such a task. Shortly after becoming an Arcanist, he would also seek the Alchemist guild in hopes to use their Lab to continue his studies. Successful on both accounts. Though little did anyone know how far Malevic would take such a thing. This was where he started his horrid experiments. First on a few dying animals he wished to save, later on his own Colleagues in the Alchemist Guild and Arcanist Guild. Siphoning, returning and fusing Aether into them. Breaking their bones and seeing if he could use Aether to mend them. Killing them and seeing if enough Aether would bring them back, or stealing their Aether as they died and returning it to a different living body would bring them back. All painful on accounts. About two years of this continued before people started to catch on, that others were missing. About this time he was already quite familiar with Aether Manipulation but he was far from achieving what he desired. Which was achieving undying life such as the Ascians. Though now his work was put to a sudden halt when people started questioning him. Eventually leading to him going off on his own. Storm Haven About a year passed after he stopped his work. Reading up on his notes so he wouldn't forget. He came across a woman known as Cybelee Stormrider. This woman started as a nuisance to the man, getting into his personal space and not leaving him alone. However, he soon realized there was something special about the woman. She revealed her self to be a fellow Scientist, she offered him a place to rest and her lab in exchange for his notes. Leading to him becoming an officer of a Free Company known as Storm Haven, though it didn't last very long however. Noticing its leader was probably from Ala Mhigo. Though still in contact with Cybelee Stormrider he remains wary of the woman. Being to nice and a fellow scientist is how he lead many to their demise, though he plotted to siphon the Aether from her as well. However, the woman remains of interest to him, and though he may not realize it he does favor the woman company. Paying her compliments every so often. It's possibly why he's held back this long from trying to remove her Aether. The Night Blades "I'm but a simple Scientist from Ul'dah looking to make a bit of coin..." -Malevic to Lias. Shortly after leaving Storm Haven without word, though telling Cybelee of such a thing, he sought out a place to stay and a way to make coin. Leading him to an old advertisement flyer for the Night Blades. Quickly taking the flyer and going to the location written on it. Finding himself accepted in as a research scientist. He saw this as an opportunity to attempt to continue his work.
