General Information
Shin Kintsurugi is an Auri swordsman, a mercenary, philosopher, and a ronin of the late Asuna clan. He currently resides in The Goblet of Ul'dah although he's often found working the main desk as one of several Directors of their Free Company's estate, in the Lavender Beds of New Gridania.
Appearance
Shin is a tall, white haired Raen of tanned complexion and "mako green" eye color. Blind in his left eye, he typically wears a skull eyepatch. The scars on his face are faint and can easily be mistaken for tribal markings.

Mannerisms

Having been raised a Garlean, Shin holds strong beliefs against the existence of Primals even after his defection and having witnessed the aftermath of Dalamud's fall following his reawakening.

Early Life
Childhood
Born under the name Yasuhiro Kobayashi, Shin and his sister, Hikari, were the sole survivors of an attack against his clan by unknown assailants. Escaping under the cover of darkness, the two manage to board a small rowboat and shove off to faraway shores to start a new life. But then his little sister notices something back at the beach. Yasuhiro stands and looks back to the beach to see what it is. A shot rings out. Yasuhiro is struck, losing his eye, and falling unconscious. More bullets whiz past. A horrified Hikari leaps to shield her brother from the hail of bullets as the boat drifts further out to sea where a storm awaited them. Yasuhiro regains consciousness to the sound of soft whimpering. As his sister died in his arms, the screams and wails that followed would be lost in the thunder as the waves took them under.
Some time later, a lone Auri child would be discovered by a young Gaius Rem Baelsar. Suffering from amnesia, this child would be taken under the junior commander's wing and given a new name: Shin.

Odin: "Wail as thy soul is bestrewn across the plains of Valhalla. RAIDEN!"
With a smirk, the Au Ra opens his eyes. His left eye no longer bearing the mark of a Proto-Resonant but in his right eye, the bright glow of blue steel.
