Melodie Valtyr
Melodie Valtyr is a female Elezen Moneterist born and raised in the city-state of Ul’dah. Born poor, she inherited a great deal of money and used it to begin her rise to prominence as a merchant, eventually becoming known by her rivals as “the Merchant Queen of Ul’dah” as a spiteful joke.
When her wealth began to reach a pinnacle surpassing that of most members of the Syndicate, Melodie began a gentrification project, buying a great deal of property and giving it to select individuals.
This caught the attention of the Syndicate, resulting in their eventual persecution of Melodie, stripping her of her wealth and property by force. Over the course of the next year, Melodie and her family turned themselves into Lalafells to hide from their many enemies while slowly rebuilding from nothing.
One year later, Melodie and her family built back up from nothing to a travelling merchant caravan under the name “Ironmongers.”

- I'm more than happy to play a support character in your story.
- I prefer it when people send me tells before the walkup. However, I do not say no if I'm not busy.
Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
I have a preference for heavy roleplay; however, being an end-game crafter it becomes hard to stay in-character when running around to fulfill the orders from clients. There's also the fact that I work from home, and I tend to have FFXIV open at all times. So, if you see I'm slightly responsive or slow during a walk-up, please keep this in mind! However, do not fear, I won't turn down a walk-up even if I have to play my way out of the situation. I'll try to let you know OOCly.
Views on RP combat and injuries:
Melodie as a character is the kind of character that would not get involved in a fight directly, she's not a combatant; however, as a player, I enjoy RP Combat. I have a heavy preference for realistic battles which result in injuries which are sometimes permanent. I also have a passion for writing up battle systems. If you want to include me in a fight, please reach out to me OOCly first, so that we can coordinate on our preferences in style.
Views on IC romance:
Writing a good story requires without a single doubt romance as a moving factor. However, I will by no means allow for my character to become involved with the character of an inexperienced player, to avoid any drama. I also have a rule of not allowing for her to be romanced, since it usually ends up on abandonment.
Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):
Yes. Yes. Yes. I'd love to have someone play a family member of Melodie, this is something that I've been looking to get for quite some time; however, just like above, I have a strong preference or experienced players that are willing to coordinate and make things work. If you're interested, please send me a tell so that we can discuss further.
Views on lore:
I love the lore and I have a preference for things that are not lore breaking; however, I love the idea of clever lore bending. I'm by no means an expert in terms of lore, so I'm always looking to talk with people that know more than me about the lore.
Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
I have a preference for public Roleplay, but only if it's not a bother to others. If you see me using quotes or narrating, that means that I'm IC. If you see me using (( brackets )), that means I'm OOC. Pretty standard
I try to keep my /say and /tell IC when possible. However, due to the fact that I'm a crafter I'll sometimes end up having to respond to a non-Roleplayer in /say without the OOC marks. Linkshells should be IC or OOC, but never a mix. Voice chat is OK, but always OOC.
Sadly I do not have any drawings of Melodie, if you'd like to draw Melodie please let me know!
