Youth

Dovienya se'Tovya Cuenn was born in the Cuenn estates in Ul'dah the second oldest of five children. Being the eldest daughter, Dovienya was groomed since childhood in the matters of the court. Beyond matters of etiquette and protocol, Lady Tal'mara, Dovienya's mother, instructed her in the matters essential in running a household. While her brothers learned of strategy and battle, Dovienya learned Mathematics, Economics, and Penmanship. Dovienya spent most of her free time in the large estate libraries, favoring tales of heroism and adventure. As she began to enter her formative years, Dovienya began to resent her station, wishing to the martial sciences her brothers were instructed in. After being firmly rebuffed by her father, the young Dovienya began to grow dreamy, constructing imaginary fancies of adventure. Her father, seeing this change decided it was time to try to find a suitor to settle his daughter. Dovienya soon caught wind of this and immediately began to plan to leave her comfortable life of privilege.

Dovienya was ill suited for life out in the wilds of Thanalan, having left with only a small purse, a pack of food/water, and a suit of ill fitting armor. It was only three days before her supplies ran out and she became hopelessly lost. Another day of wandering in the hot sun of the Thanalan ended when she was beset upon by a passing patrol of Amalj'aa. She attacked, slashing at the beast with her short practice blade, but the beasts thick hide easily turned the blade, her armor only served to hamper her movements and she fell. Dovienya, panicked and could only look up as the beasts pounced upon her. Their heavy forms fell heavily upon her, and her cries were drowned out by the gutteral cries of the Amalj'aa. After what felt like an eternity, she opened her eyes and realized the beasts were hewn in two, the torsos still upon her, but the legs and tails several paces away. She peered up, to the wet gore covered axe looming above her. She scrambled back and screamed, but the axe never fell. Instead, a scowling Roegadyn loomed above her growling at her to get up and follow. The next day following the man back to civilization, the young Dovienya had made up her mind, this man was to be her path to adventure.

Personality

Dovienya is normally quite pleasant and courteous. Due to her strict upbringing she has been trained to subconsciously maintain a pleasant half-smile; and to avoid showing any emotion, usually only doing so with calculated purpose. She is likely to put on a pleasant face no matter what her current mood is. Though still short of her middle years she has the habit of treating and talking to others as if to children. She has difficulty opening up to people. Though she may put up a caring and friendly front, in reality she often has trouble processing her own emotions, let alone others. When pressed too far emotionally, she is likely to retreat back into herself, relying on her training and shutting out all others. Unless of course, she's angered. If pushed too far in that regard her temper can be sudden and explosive. While cold and distant in public, she can be equally passionate in private. Those she is close with or those she trusts will find her to be a very different person when alone.

● Aoi_Obinata Has only recently met the woman, but is pleased with what she's seen. She is, in Dov's words "...a polite young girl, but a bit headstrong."

≈ Carina_Roussos Carina is an odd young girl, but precious in her own way. Dovienya would like to help her break out of the shell she seems to have put up around her, but is not sure if the poor girl will let her close enough to try. Her mood seems to shift in odd and unpredictable ways. Her relationship with Serick is increasingly problematic to Dovienya.

● Evey_Vorai Meeting Miss Evey was a pleasant surprise to Dovienya as she sees much of herself in the young Hyur. Feels rather protective of the girl, but wants to encourage her to live her own life. Was greatly impressed by the girls ability in healing magics.

● Kersch_Schwarzer Only knows Kersch through his lover Orin. The Xaela will only speak one or two words to Dovienya, and only when prompted. Feels as if she intimidates the poor boy.

💑 Marcus_Feral Dovienya's husband, one of the few people she respects. Was drawn to him during a dark time in her life and feels indebted to him, in a way. She loves him, of course, but sometimes feels as if his desire for power will one day consume them both. Their relationship is delicate and difficult for her to fully understand.

● ≈ Orin_Kai A remarkably competent man, Dovienya has a measure of respect for the Raen. He seems to be intelligent enough, despite his tendencies to flirt with anything with two legs. Dovienya is cautious around him, as she's uncertain of his motivations and is sure he is hiding something.

≈ Sephirah_Eruafnor Dovienya first met the Raen bleeding in an alleyway after dueling with the locals. Seemingly 'reformed' since then, Dovienya is not quite sure what to make of the young man. He is arrogant and exasperating, but seems to have a kind heart beneath it his grimy exterior.

≈ Tempest_Wind An exasperating woman with a tongue that could file steel. Has had a longer acquaintance than the rest of her current companions. Cannot predict her actions or motivations.
