Overview

Nahri Ruhzo was born to the Drake tribe in Forgotten Springs to U'maira Jhamei and Ruhzo'ya Nuhn. From a young age, Narhi had a freewill and personal choice ideology but her parents were rather strict with the traditions of their tribe. They were good to Nahri and they did their best to make their daughter comfortable with the workings of the tribe, but it often ended in Nahri going on hunts to simply escape what would be required of her in the future. She wanted to live her life with her own choices, not those forced upon her by a political system. Upon the death of her parents, she shunned her tribe's traditions. She dropped the tribal letter from her name and took to traveling around Eorzea intent on becoming a well-rounded individual with many abilities tucked beneath her belt.

Appearance

Height: 5 fulm and 4 ilms
Weight: 130 ponze
Hair: Black with snow-white highlights
Eyes: Bright blue
Notable Traits: On her right cheek is a scar running just a few ilms below her eye. On her left cheek is another scar, this one running much lower near her jawline.
Clothing: Her style is rather random, sometimes wearing Limsan-fashioned clothing and other times wearing Ul'dahn-fashioned clothing for casual wear. She does have days where she likes to dress up and make herself look pretty just because she can. Armor is always decided based on the job she will be completing.

Personality

The lifestyle in which Nahri live is largely based on her perception of life and how she has chosen to live. Being an adrenaline junkie, she often gets a little too excited when the chance of a high risk job is offered. While her lifestyle is based on survival and making a living for herself, she still loves what she does. With no close friends or family to mourn in the event of her death, she makes the best of each situation by simply giving back to those she meets. However, when it comes to relaxation and unwinding, Nahri typically prefers a gentle tea to soothe the nerves and relax the muscles. Give her tea, place her by a fire and allow her to watch as the day fades into night and she'll be the most zen person anyone has ever seen.
First and foremost, Nahri is loyal to her commitments, both person and job related. While she has no direct personal contact with any of her consumers or trainers, preferring it to remain mostly business with an exception to a few who cross her path, there are those she would be more than willing to protect at any given cost. These are the people who have promoted her lifestyle, her well being, and encouraged her for her strengths. They have earned her respect and, because of this, Nahri feels she owes them a debt she could not replay otherwise.
Nahri has a big heart, especially towards those who are less fortunate or struggling. On occasion, she will take to the streets and treat those who are in need for the simple fact that she has the ability to do so. When it comes to people she cares for, she’ll stand in front of them and take every blow if she needs to just to protect them. There is little Nahri wouldn’t do for those she strives to protect.
Nahri is neither messy nor neat. She has a natural flow to her life that allows for few items so there's never much to be found simply lying around at random. She does, however, carry quite a bit of clothing as she can never tell where work will take her next. Typically living out of inns, she only needs to worry about her own laundry rather than the bed clothing and other room related stuff, but she does try to help out the innkeepers with their duties. Nahri doesn't want to be known as the frequenting tenant who caused the facility to work harder than necessary.
At times she may seem to have a motherly personality, gentle and loving, but at others she may come off as quite aggressive. She's not afraid to go head to head with someone, and she most certainly isn't going to allow someone to push her around, but she can be lenient in some cases. The person she's interacting with and the situation in which she finds herself is often the biggest indicator of how the interaction is going to go.

Combat Style

Archery

Nahri's weapon of choice is the bow. Growing up in Forgotten Springs, she perfected the art and maintained it as a fighting style until she began mercenary work. She prefers to use it in most situations of combat as she is most familiar with the weapon, but she ventures outside of her comfort zone relatively often due to the requirements of her job.

Swordmanship

As her life has revolved around becoming decent in any combat, Nahri is able to hold an axe or sword and perform with either despite her terrible form. She knows that she's not perfect at using either weapon, but she's content with simply being able to get by. The goal is typically to see the job through and, if she feels as though she needs a little extra practice in using either weapon, will recruit a person for temporary training before a job.
At the current moment, Julius Bennett has agreed to give her lessons and be her trainer in using a sword. With a job coming up relatively soon, one that he has agreed to accompany her on despite her pushing him to simply relax, Nahri is all the more grateful to the man for offering her his skill even if she was the one who hunted him down.

Magic

She's anything but a magic caster but, for the sake of knowledge, Nahri has practiced and used weak shield barriers; the basic of the basic. She's unable to cast anything outside of that.

Occupation, Skills, and Interests

Nahri considers herself to be a mercenary for hire. With her vast range of abilities, even without proper extensive training, she's more than willing to take on even the most dangerous of jobs.

Goals

"What if everything you have been taught is all a lie and everything you feel is all a truth?"
With this quote being her life motto, the ultimate goal is to live a happy life in the way that she would want to see it out. Having no ties to her birthplace, Nahri goes where she pleases when and if she decides she wants to. Freedom has been a prominent term in her head since she was a young girl and she refuses to allow anyone or anything tie her down to any one thing. However, Nahri does have other goals for the future.
Happiness can only last for so long while one is on their own. Nahri hopes to find a like-minded kindred spirit in which she can live her life to the fullest along side someone who will promote her need to be like the wind and roam. She has not found this person just yet and has been unwilling to risk anything with a person she wasn't sure of.

Family

U'maira Jhamei - Mother
Nahri's mother. While the pair didn't always get along, Nahri loved her mother dearly. She was a graceful woman, skilled in making herself flow like water even through the toughest of battles. In private, U'maira would often tell Nahri that she had a choice in the life she lived though she thoroughly encouraged the following of tribal systemics. She understood that it was hard for Nahri to conform with the free spirit she had been born with. It was her dying wish that Nahri follow her passions rather than her parents ideology.
Ruhzo'ya Nuhn - Father
Nahri's father was much more strict than her mother. While he wasn't around as often as he might have been were he not so busy, he was still very much a part of her life. Passionate and proud of the system the tribe abides, he encourage Nahri from a young age to live up to what he called her "birth right". Of course, Nahri was rebellious of his ideas for her adulthood, but that didn't mean he was a terrible father. He was anything but. Outside of tribal matters, he was gentle and loving to Nahri, always lifting her up and praising her for her accomplishments as she grew older. While she didn't follow through with the plans her father had for her, she likes to believe her father would be proud of her despite leaving the tribe.

Personal Relationships

Julius Bennett - Sweetheart
In the beginning, Julius was Nahri's sword-trainer. She had heard the rumors and stories flying around about the man and decided that he was worth looking into on a far deeper level. As she had taken to seeking him out, despite the fact that his face was plastered to almost every bounty board that existed, she still wanted to train under the man. In the end, he agreed, having already wanted to pass down the skills he knew of the art to someone before it was too late. Now the two are a happy couple.

History

Birth
Born with the name U'nahri Ruhzo to U'maira Jhamei and Ruhzo'ya Nuhn, Nahri was raised within a loving environment. Her parents adored her, often going out of their way to spoil her with whatever they thought would make her happy. It was the picture of the "perfect" family life in the eyes of a Seeker tribe member though Nahri only has stories that were passed down to her to go on.
Age 5
At 5 years old, Nahri's father and other tribe members began to teach Nahri to use a bow. She practiced every day for a short amount of time as no one wanted to overwork the child, but starting early was a good idea. They began with stance and style rather than allowing her to use real arrows, and the bow itself was only a mock-up of the real thing. It was at this point that Nahri began to wonder why her father was treating her different than the other children. Perhaps he had gone soft on her in particular. As for her mother, she had taken to teaching her basic patch-work, wanting her to be able to take care of herself just as well as she could hunt.
Age 7
At 7, the real training began. Now that she had perfected stance and style, she would begin using blunt-tipped arrows. She was also given a blunted knife to begin practicing with, the skill necessary in case of emergencies. It was also a year later, at 8 years old, that her mother began to teach her how to prepare food. With the knife skills she had been taught, Nahri was able to efficiently cut and clean any hunts that came through though she wasn't permitted to take on her own just yet. She was still far too young for the task. While she continued her training with archery, she focused more on the home-based skills.
Age 13
At 13, Nahri began to get "the talk". From her mother, she was encouraged to follow Seeker tradition but informed that she had a choice. From her father she received his expectations and what he wanted to see as she grew older. Neither conversation was comfortable for her. It was around this time that Nahri took up archery on an extreme level outside of the training she was receiving. It was also around this time that Nahri had been permitted to take on hunting as she had passed the tests she had been given to check her readiness. Often going on every hunting mission provided to the tribe to keep herself away from "the talk" that her parents so wanted to drive into her head, Nahri became all the more interested in the different styles of fighting. She had decided some time before that she wasn't suited for the lifestyle of a female Seeker and would, in the end, go her separate way.
Age 17
At 17 years of age, Nahri lost her parents. It was a sudden death as they had been ambushed by the Amalj'aa during a hunt. Nahri was also nearing the age in which she would be considered a woman rather than a girl, meaning she would either have to live up to the expectations of her father or go her separate way and renounce her ties to the tribe. Nahri opted for the latter option, dropping the Drake signature from her name and parting ways with those she considered to be a close knit family. She had her archer skills and she knew how to hunt and prepare food. The only thing she lacked was a job for Gil, something she picked up relatively quickly under the supervision of a kind merchant woman who showed her how to calculate pricing and what fabrics were the best for the harshest weather.
Age 23
At 23, Nahri parted ways with the merchant she had learned her skills from to pursue a more versatile life. She began picking up odd jobs, most often the ones that no one else cared to do, just for the chance to explore areas she had never been to and for the little bit of Gil that was offered as a reward. When it became evident that the small tasks she was taking on weren't going to promote a proper living, Nahri decided to try out another style of fighting to increase her chances of getting hired for the more intricate jobs, including hunts. Seeking out a temporary trainer, someone to teach her just enough to get by, Nahri decided to try using a sword and axe as a secondary weapon along side her bow. She wasn't fond of staying with a singular teacher for very long, but she learned enough to get by. From there, trial and error.
Current Day
Currently, Nahri is 25 years old and work is slowing down. As the days pass, more and more jobs come through that she's unqualified for. She's began hunting down people she's heard rumors about to see if they're willing to lend her a hand in their skill as most rumors depict the person as exceeding that of their initial guild.
