Elise Ebonheart is a Highlander Hyur, who was born in Ala Mhigo. Through the fall of Ala Mhigo, she found herself on a journey to Ul'dah, where she began to learn her martial skills that she uses now to secure herself a job as an adventurer or mercenary. She found herself living under the guidance of a family friend who had left Ala Mhigo long ago- who doubly served as Elise's mother figure and mentor. Through her, she learned the aforementioned martial skills and dedicated her skills and energy to the art of combat.
She still works as a mercenary and adventurer as a means of survival and wishes to hopefully find someone along her adventures who could claim the soul crystal and honor Emiline's memory. Her life is devoted to the disciplines of war, often able to pick up many weapons and use them to great capabilities or even use her fists. With quick learning, Elise prides herself as a fighter with expertise, having served under the former Desert Fangs and now named Eorzea Defense Force as a sellsword and the Golden Tiger. Now, she serves in the Black Crowns, apart of the Dragon's Crown.
In light of the Eorzean Alliance's actions to liberate Ala Mhigo, Elise has pledged herself to assisting with the Ala Mhigan Resistance as best she could.
HistoryHaving come from Ala Mhigo, there was no doubt that Elise was inspired already to learn battle. The battle for Ala Mhigo however, was one that spiraled a darker disdain that Elise keeps hidden, quietly blaming the Garleans' actions for the lack of family and less than stellar situation. Having been driven from her home, with her parents deciding to stay behind for the sake of resistance, Elise found herself shoved towards the arid land of Thanalan with a trusted family friend. Due to a mishap in registry, Elise Blackheart was mistakenly listed as Elise Ebonheart. Although the issue has not been rectified, Elise still goes by either surname.
Still, she could learn of the Ala Mhigan ways that she never truly experienced herself, and learn the life that the Garleans unfortunately took away from her.
When she grew of age to hold a weapon, she displayed a fiery determination in learning how to fight. With the assistance of the family friend, she was given the mentor she sought. Through intense training from once a grand adventurer, Elise could learn quickly through her young years the art of combat. She joined her mentor in fighting various threats before her mentor officially retired, trusting in Elise to simply be capable of surviving on her own. Most of these battles came against the Corpse Brigade. They constantly raided and fought against the former kingsguard now turned bandits, leading to tense stand offs. At one point, Elise and her mentor had been captured and nearly lost her eye due to an attempt at torture. However, Elise managed to break free and free herself and her mentor. Her mentor suffered much more injuries than she did, and thus, was forced to retire.
Elise wandered around, joining various mercenary and adventuring groups for gil, before finding the confidence to take on solo jobs. She was met with another refugee who had fled Ala Mhigo- with aspirations to become a free paladin, named Emiline Dracht. Together they adventured together, before Emiline found herself compelled to fight in Carteneau, only to fall there. Elise managed to retrieve Emiline's sword and soul crystal, keeping them for safekeeping. She holds onto the crystal, waiting for anyone worthy to claim it.
After the Calamity, Elise found herself working with a runaway noblewoman named Shayla Graylance. She found herself taking jobs against the Corpse Brigade, partially out of anger and vengeance for their crimes and for nearly taking her eye and torturing her family friend. Shayla herself had ran away from Ishgard for one reason or another. Elise hadn't bothered to pry too deeply. But they worked hand in hand in the same earlier techniques-- raiding and being a nuisance to the Corpse Brigade, culminating into a prevention of multiple raids against Little Ala Mhigo.
Shayla herself had an affect on Elise. The noblewoman had assisted Elise with her sexuality, allowing Elise to come to terms with discovering that she was homosexual. They remained amiable close friends, although time and distance was a cruel factor as Shayla departed for other jobs. Elise found herself alone once again, and continued as a sellsword. At the same time, she had made an unwarranted rival with a Miqo'te named Kirala. More often than not, Kira stole marks and jobs away from Elise, and attempted to ruin her reputation. More often than not, Elise and Kira constantly clashed in battle, often leading to Elise losing in battle no thanks to Kirala having a decade's worth of experience over the only recently hardened Elise. Supposedly sworn enemies, Kira constantly haunted Elise in her early days, bombarding her with insults and attacking Elise's pride. Only, this time, Elise disappeared from Thanalan.
Truthfully, she had expanded her horizons and left to other regions of Eorzea to find work, as Thanalan grew too hostile at those recent days. She continued to find work as a solo sellsword, occasionally finding secure enough jobs with the Desert Fangs and an occasional contract work with the Golden Tiger, before she eventually joined the Black Crowns.
Now, she serves in the Black Crowns, apart of the Dragon's Crown. Granted the honor, she now remains in Gridania along with the rest of the Dragon's Crown, offering her blade to their cause and finding steady pay and a steadier life. Although on some occasion she may take smaller jobs, she finds herself happier apart of the Dragon's Crown.
PersonalityElise may not be the best social paragon out there, but she strives to include people into her conversations, and try to usher others to speak up and have their limelight. She often stands with crossed arms or hands in her pockets. Casual is a good way to describe Elise, often not too bothered by anything that could usually be considered impolite-- unless, of course, it was a direct attack on her own self. But even then, she still also can't exactly help but butt in and try to be silly.
For anyone who catches her eye, Elise tries to be charming, but...well, others do it better than her.
Elise holds benevolence to heart, and isn't afraid of lending help and aid to anyone in need. In such, she's more liberal and open-minded in certain viewpoints, perhaps even coming off as possibly apathetic unless it involves her. The Highlander is rather accepting of what people do, as long as it won't wrong others. Under pressure, Elise might still try to hide any disappointment or anger with smiles and jokes. Then, her face may become flustered. But anywhere beyond that would earn Elise's legitimate ire. She often avoids violence as the very first answer.
What often isn't seen, is her far more serious side. In much of a quiet manner, her face often returns to that stoic, cold glare that she always seemed to resort to, and the lack of charm grows much more apparent. Although she is often in good spirits when around others.
Fiercely loyal, Elise will do anything to protect anyone she cares about, often willing to shoulder burdens and offer her sword and shield within the blink of an eye.

AppearanceTall. That was definitely one thing that could immediately come to mind. Elise has height. As such, that could leave her to stand as an imposing figure. Naturally, Elise has red hair. She often leaves her bangs to cover some of her eyes, as she often has the rest of her long hair hang over her shoulder. She was toned, muscles clearly visible in her arms and her stomach, an indication with all of the physical activity that Elise goes through. At the same time, Elise is rather curvaceous, and is frankly unafraid of using that fact to shamelessly flirt and use her sexuality when all of flirts go wrong. (Most of the time, they probably do. If she even flirts!)
If she can help it, she tends to avoid the burning sun of Thanalan, and most of her adventures take her out and about throughout Eorzea, which helps in keeping her skin color lighter, rather than sunkissed.
Elise's eyes are a cold, icy blue that helps with the intimidation factor. Not to mention, the scar on her eye. Although, all signs of intimidation are likely melted away by the calm, soft smile Elise might have on her face.
Scars & Markings: A scar on her eye is the most apparent scar.
Voice: Perhaps as a contradiction to what would be her intimidating height, Elise's voice is pleasant, lighthearted, and easy to the ears.
Clothing: "Hmm! It all depends on the situation! Of course I'm going to wear armor when I need it! Otherwise, flattering or attractive!" Elise practically wears anything she feels like on a whim. Although, her common casual clothes often involve leggings and long coats or her favorite leather jacket. She isn't afraid to deviate to anything more revealing, but it typically depends on what she exactly feels like for the day.
Talents- Martial Prowess: Elise is a fighter first and foremost. She knows how to handle herself very well in a fight.
- Basic first-aid: Something that Elise has picked up as a mercenary and adventurer, just for the small things that wouldn't and shouldn't require the expenditure of someone's energy and aether.

Through most of her life, she had dedicated it intensely to learning how to fight. Now, it did not mean that she shirked other academic pursuits- but she was first and foremost a fighter and a warrior. Through which, Elise found herself to either be incredibly luck or thankfully competent. Priding herself in her swordplay the most, Elise offers her expertise through a greatsword as her weapon of choice to anyone who chose to hire her.
The more hidden secret is that she had somehow came into possession of a Dark Knight's crystal. Although she possesses great potential with it, Elise sees it fit to not use this in the open. This secret was only reserved for the most dire moments, as she isn't fully trained on managing the Darkside.

Eorzea Defense Force
Elise holds Juno in a high regard. Her former boss in EDF, and one of the few people Elise can confidently call a friend. Elise worked under her and shared an intimate friendship with Juno, but because of the nature of her jobs, Elise hasn't been physically around. Although they've grown fairly distant thanks to this, Elise still sees Juno as a friend, even if she feels sad that she cannot often visit her friend.
Golden Tiger
A bard that Elise had met in the Drowning Wench one night. They had a conversation over books of the adventure genre. Briefly bonding over that, Elise has a positive experience with the patient bard. Through coincidence, they managed to meet again at the Drowning Wench. As usual, they still mostly bond over books. However, through a recent adventure, the two had met through coincidental circumstances. Elise fought alongside Ayla against a swath of Voidsent, and tended to Ayla's head injuries during the gruesome battle when Ayla suffered the head injury. Later on, both Ayla and Elise confided in each other some doubts and emotional talks, solidifying their friendship.
Might and Magitek
A friend of Ayla's. Elise met Fhilwyda when she dropped off a borrowed book at Ayla's room-- and then again at Might and Magitek bars. Elise managed to lift Fhilwyda's gigantic axe in a third meeting at the Drowning Wench. Elise met Fhilwyda through coincidence once again in another adventure- Fhilwyda retreated to obtain reinforcements. When Fhilwyda re-emerged with others from Might and Magitek, Elise fought alongside Ayla and Fhilwyda through the swaths of Voidsent. This adventure ultimately led to Elise and Ayla discovering Fhilwyda's father, Wandering Heart, and saving him.
Golden Tiger
Another friend of both Fhilwyda and Ayla, they also met within one meeting in the Drowning Wench. It was clear that Tajih was learning more social practices, she just couldn't stop talking about "pleasure sex..." Either way, Tajih was one who kept interesting facts around and written, and unbeknownst to her, was quite amusing despite trying to figure out Elise's sex life for literal science. Later on, Tajih became the seamstress for the Golden Tiger. They have not talked often, but they have been around each other.
