『 Lawrence Wallace 』 "Make your choices. Sow your seeds. When the time comes, I'll see you reap the consequences."
A severe looking man, Law rarely smiles. His dark brown hair is always combed back over his head, kept out of his face by hanging over his ears. Long and pointed as all elezen ears are, they stick out at a low angle, parallel to the ground rather than pointed up at all. Sharp, high cheekbones frame his eyes, a stark, cold blue with perpetual dark bags underneath. He looks as weary as he is doubtful of the world around him, but when he is among friends, a smile can make him look much younger. His nose is unremarkable, as are his lips, but his jawline is softer than most would think from the rest of his expression. A gentle curve, the jaw works its way to a strong chin lacking the point of some of his more hawkish kin. From top to bottom Law is a fighter. One who has trained and worked to be in a shape that allows him the life of war and combat that he chases with fervor. From the back one would first note his shoulders, broad and well-suited to carrying great weight upon them. His arms, carved from the same stone would carry more weight and bulk than one would expect from the normally lanky elezen. The theme continued from the front, where his chest and abdomen would have the same heavy set of muscles. Even his legs were strong, the base upon which the rest of him was built. It's clear from any angle that he was very keen on keeping in shape. Scars & Markings: The most striking part about Law's entire appearance is the pair of strangely symmetrical scars on either of his cheeks. Running from just under the eyes all the way down to his jaw, they were thick, jagged, and though healed long ago, still very much apparent. There were a few more minor mars, a knick on his neck, a small scar on his chin, nothing enough to call attention to, though. His body carried the brunt of his rough lifestyle, several alarmingly large scars crossing his torso. One was horizontal, spanning nearly his entire chest, implying a slash from a large blade. Another was smaller, but thicker, located on his left side near the bottom of his ribs. It had a twin on his back which told the story of him being run through. Another pair were on his back, up by his shoulders. Smaller blades that had stabbed downwards into his back. At all times there were dark purple bruises that changed places as they healed and were replaced. How the young man had survived these all, how he remains standing even, is a question one should be asking when seeing the evidence of his battles. Clothing: Law's usual attire is a dark crimson coat over layers of chain mail, leather, and padded cloth. Thick leather gloves, and boots of a fine make complete the ensemble. On his back is an obscenely large great-sword, notable for the red paint along the back of the blade, and the numerous trinkets and baubles that adorn the grip and pommel. He never wears jewelry of any kind.
♦ First impressions From afar Law would appear to be an unpleasant individual. Scowling, intimidating, and brusque in demeanor and word both. When speaking, he rarely uses his arms or hands to emote, only moving them when making a gesture to indicate something specific, or to give directions. Otherwise they're loose at his side to complete his tall, stiff posture. Chin held high, some of those shorter than him could get the impression that he looks down his nose, though he takes care to face people directly when speaking with them. ♦ Day-to-day When dealing with Law for more casual interactions, if he were to be ordering food, or giving directions, any general conversation, he would be neutral. Expression, a steady, calm set to his brow and jaw which lacked the glare of his resting face. He speaks in shorter, direct sentences to give him a sense of being all business, which is true. Time is rarely a thing to be wasted with Law, and so it's rare to see him still. Always wandering around with a task in mind, he's earned something of a reputation amongst the various merchants and traders to be a reliable, if somewhat curt, customer. ♦ With friends Given time, and patience, if someone grows closer to Law they'll learn of how he is when relaxed. Though by no means a trickster, he does have a habit of making the occasional joke or jab at a close friend's expense, though always in jest. He smiles far more than any other time, though they are often subdued and muted. He could even be heard letting out the occasional burst of laughter, though more common is a subdued chuckle. What's clear, though, is that even the slightest show of positivity from the dour young man is a great sign of trust and care for the one that earns it. The only others who earn such a warm response from Law are the families he works with. ♦ When working The most common state of being for Law, he's a diligent and dedicated worker. He's taken adventurer work from all three City States, but most commonly works with the Adders in the Shroud. Any of the outposts or homesteads are a place he could possibly be seen, culling dangerous monster populations, hunting bandits, doing patrols with guards. He jumps at the chance to spare others the most dangerous jobs, though if life is quiet and the dangers are few, he also isn't shy with more domestic tasks. Caring for animals, repairing buildings or carts, even as simple as drawing water from a well, he is never idle or without some task or another, despite any injuries that he may be carrying. ♦ Philosophy Something that Law holds very close to the heart is his view of good or evil. He has very firmly the belief that a person is made of their choices, and any choice made invites the return of a consequence. Those who are innocent and honest, those who are kind and helpful, children. These are the ones who deserve good in kind. They are the ones who he is always working so hard to help. On the other hand, wickedness and evil invites the price of blood in return. Harming the innocent, killing, thieving, causing damage and chaos, all are acts that should be punished, and his entire life was spent in training to ensure he was the one who could make them pay their price. Title, bloodline, prestige, none of this matters to Law. A man who commits an act of evil should pay, no matter who they are. He despises those who hide behind their power and influence, and will take action against them just as surely as a forest bandit.
